The two figures that I was waiting to see are kind of disappointments. The cody mask is way too bulky, and Riley's face scan still looks awful. Easy passes for me. The best of 2011 choices are a bit strange. Isn't that the same Kofi that people were buying for 3-5 bucks b/c it didn't sell very well at retail?

I got to be honest, I HATE these 'Best of" sets. They just get in the way of the regular releases.
I went to this discount store earlier tonight... called Ollie's (it's like a TJ Maxx kinda deal)... and they had about 30 of the basic 'Best of 2010' Bastista's for $5.99. lol.

Yay! More shelf warmers! Just what I always wanted! You ever notice how stores won't stock enough of the regular series figures, but somehow end up with 900 cases of this crap that never goes away? I wonder how that works.... i dare you to say something positive. just once. |

So in the Best of Series, we get 2 of the 5 Elite figures aren't even in stores yet (Cena, Rey) and 1 from I series I haven't even found yet (Elite 10 JoMo). And we get a Best of Basic figure (Santino) which was never released. Weird. But I'm glad we're getting Santino.
I don't know if these were who I'd put as the "Best" figures of the year. I would put the new Elite Punk in that everybody seems to love.
And I think Cody looks pretty cool. I hope we get one with his current attire.

The only thing I want out of all that is the Cody. I want the smiling scan but that mask is great. I second whoever said it needs the 2p8 head. I have that head on the 2p11 figure and I am going to just swap that with the smiling scan. I have a sneaking suspicion that we are going to see an Elite Grotesque Cody very soon so I may just wait until retail to grab the 2pack version.

Is it just me or is the Elite packaging smaller? The figures look much bigger. Did anyone look at Randy Orton's left leg on his best of basic figure? It's fudged up. but on a good note, it looks like he has a new, Jakks-esque, torso. No it isn't, the leg lifted up on an angle so it covers up the trunks for that side. |

and YAY! a shiny belt on Sheamus! maybe we wont get all Dull ones after all Yeah... I noticed that too(!). I think it's mainly because the original release Sheamus (Elite 8) had a shiny belt... |

How can a figure be the best of 2011, when it wasn't released in 2011? I know right?! The story is that Santino was supposed to be in TagTeams 12 with Kozlov, but since he was released.....they didn't know what to do with him so they chucked him in the BO11 for no reason. They easily could've put him in a upcoming basics "6" but.....watever. I also hate the fact that they repacked Miz with the stale piece of bread that is A-Rye. What a joke. |

Is that a new scan on Orton in the BO2011 Basics? I really like the look of the BO2011...but weird choices to be honest. Anyway, Santino Basic is pretty much the only one I'll be getting. Battle Packs are all awesome. All 3 are definite buys for me. At least seeing these early saved me from buying the Extreme Rules/BO2011/Wrestlemania 27 John Cena by itself. If I had...then saw the Truth/Cena pack MOC, I woulda been PISSED Re-releases bug me. Orton's scan is the same as Elite 9. |

So, even though they already have the red/orange Money in the Bank briefcase from Elite 11, these are Basics, so, instead, we get a generic grey briefcase with no Money in the Bank sticker? I appreciate the Cody Rhodes face mask, but the water bottle (from Elite 1 Triple H) and the mic (Elite 1 R-Truth) are just re-releases. + knee braces. Wee. Why does it always seem like such a chore for Mattel to provide us with simple accessories that Jakks gave us for free?

Thanks! That's it, I'm ordering soon. I'm more than likely wrong but that figure looks different than what I saw at Comic Con. That is the only one I've seen up close, we don't have these on hand yet. I'd just have to seen an unmasked picture first, but I remember this huge, WIDE smile which it doesn't look like he has there? I'm sure he does have it. |
