www.awaflorida.com/shop.htmlat AWA Florida's site they have a figure up of TANK, the former american gladiator. now i dont see a logo on the figure or the card so i'm not sure if this is from some series of gladiator figures and they are just passing it off as a fig of him or if it's an official AWA Florida figure. does anyone have any info on this figure? and dont say because it's an indy fed the figure must not be official, because Big Time Wrestling sold an official figure of L'Empereur a few years ago.

It does look a bit bootleggy to me, but it could be official.
A couple of years ago I bought one of the 100 L'Empereur figures from the man himself. Ít's pretty cool.
BTw.... I also noticed that on the bottom of the page they used my pictures of the AWA Remco Raschke/Martel and Road Warriors set. That's a bit fishy.

I don't see anywhere that it says "Offical AWA" figure.. just official figure.. probably from American Gladiators..

The package and accessories reminded me of the Russell Crowe movie "Gladiator", so I searched on eBay if that movie had figures: they had, but don't resemble this one. However there's some made in China line called Gladiator Knight, look: BTW, the old American Gladiators figures were by Mattel, I believe...

Apparently other figured this out before I posted, but it is just a dollar store gladiator figure with a modified custom cardback. They just bought a bunch of dollar figures, printed up a new cardback, and now it's "Gladiator Tank". It's a nice enterprising move, but not an exclusive or official release of any kind.

Man the AWA was once a proud organization now it is the shits. I wish Jakks would make more AWA figs in the CS line.
