in fairness you could hardly be blames for not knowing he was there.
The Alliance "MVP" as he was known was buried mercilessly.unfortunate since Kanyon was a talent.

i was a big Kanyon fan but he was treated awfully in WWE, just like most of WCW's talent. his death was one of the most upsetting deaths in wrestling for me. I remember being so psyched when I heard he was suiting up as Mortis again in WWE 2003/2004 ish (i think it was) at house shows. typical WWE tho, the idea never made it to TV. EDIT: found some pics of the new Mortis attire from his return: WWE sucks... RIP Kanyon...
