no series # and the "Superstar #02" on the upper left makes it look to me like it might be some sort of exclusive packaging. maybe through WWE.com? or anther toy site? looks good though. i'll have to get it.

Mattel didn't change the packaging to cut costs. This was announced months ago -

Toy giant Mattel Inc. on Friday announced that it is developing a "sustainable procurement policy" to avoid using packaging that contributes to deforestation.

The statement came amid accusations from environmental advocacy group Greenpeace that the El Segundo-based company's toy packaging hurts the giant Indonesian rain forest.

"Mattel has a long track record of playing responsibly across all areas of our business, which includes how we impact the world around us," Lisa Marie Bongiovanni, Mattel's vice president of corporate affairs, said in a statement Friday. "While we don't have all the answers yet, we are working to make continual improvements across our business, and that includes packaging."

I agree. This new packaging looks very cheap with the card, but we're due for a change since Mattel has been using the same carding for two years now. Jakks changed RA carding every 5 sets and changed up the coloring on EVERY set, so Mattel has run its course with the old packaging.

I LOVE the new packaging!!! The white really makes the Superstar/Diva artwork stand out. I might have to start MOC collecting finally.

Personally, I love the new packaging. Very simple. As far as I can tell, this is not an exclusive. The one thing that excites me is that if this is truly a basic figure, she still has her Cougar necklace. Perhaps little accessories have bled over from the new Battle Packs, which means head bands (WWWYKI) may not be out of the question anymore.

Seems like every year they're going to do a redesign. The current one is more like an upgraded version of the original 2010 version, but this one is like a complete overhaul. I like it!

They might be changing the packaging. I mean, they had new packages for the figures in 2011. It wasn't that much of a change, but they were different. I'm a loose collector, so the packages don't bother me. Although, MOC collectors may not like this as much, I don't mind it.
