Do you think a thor head would work for Hero?

I still have to drill the ball joint a little deeper but I'm happy with the outcome overall. Have a few blemishes to clean up and on to the final mold. Yeah, I have a heap to show but I'm a lazy bum. Just got inspired to show this one after I got my DM Bret today. Fired up about a few things but I have to take my time and do it right...

^^Looks good Jay! Can't wait to see it painted and finished... I'm just about finished with my El Generico figure. Here's what I got finished with so far:

ebenj, that El Generico looks sweet! Did you make the mask and the cape? If so, great job. It makes me wish that I knew I how to sew.

The only thing missing on the figure is the "OLE!" on the back of his tights. I'm still debating on painting it or doing a decal for it. I learned some sewing techniques on YouTube so you can check that out and practice. Thanks again for the feedback .

Ok, so I'm wondering. What do you guys think? Do you appreciate a custom that has a single layered skin tone and fits into your collection or a multi-layered skin tone( wash/dry brush) that might not fit in with your collection but looks really cool?

That's a good question bro. I like all customs but when they make the skin-tone look totally out of wack with the rest of the collection I like it a bit less. Maybe it's just because there's no sealer I just really hate dry painted figures. Some look good but it looks weird and kinda bothers me . If it came down to it I probably wouldn't want to add it to my collection. Sorry if I sound like a jerk, I'm not trying to, haha.

I think both styles have their place in the custom/collecting world.
Personally, when I see someone like FamousJ, Jay, or Rome do the layered skin tones, I view that figure as sort of an "premium" edition of that particular star. Something that can serve as the definitive centerpiece to a collection if you're a big fan of a certain wrestler. It stands out nicely, and is highly unique in regards to whatever Jakks or Mattel could ever release.
However, for those who collect a certain style/brand on a large scale, I can see how the simplistic, or "factory", look is far more appealing. Especially if you're wanting a figure of someone who would likely never be made otherwise. If I collected every Elite figure, but was a fan of TNA stars, I'd love to have "factory" looking customs of TNA guys that slip in easily with my displayed collection.
It really is a toss-up. There's times when I do a custom, and love coming up with a unique skin-tone for what I'm doing. Then there's times when I use factory parts, and get a real kick out of pulling something off that looks like it was made by Jakks or Mattel. Overall, I think it's good to have a nice balance where you appeal to the buyers, but still manage to scratch whatever creative itches you may have.

...I hope I didn't come off mean . Take CDS's customs for example, (I know he doesn't do the skin tones) he leaves the attires on his dry. That doesn't bother me as much as it would if it was the whole figure. On my customs I use a clear nail polish finish and it leaves them a bit shiny but not out-of-the-ordinary shiny . But of course, mine are no where as good as yours .

Man, those look killer! I hope they transfer pretty well. *EDIT* Has anyone made a Mattel Matt Morgan yet? If so, can I get a picture or two? I got Elite Kozlov from my buddy for free and I personally don't think I need him. I also don't think I'd be able to acetone the red off his thighs so I might be giving him the silver shorts he used in the WWE. One more thing, does anyone have any good pictures of his Tattoos? Thanks in advance

They worked. I printed in white decal paper, so I have to reprint some with a black square behind them.
