- Thanks to Melody for the following WWE SmackDown spoilers from tonight's tapings in Sacramento, California. These will air this Friday on SyFy:
* Triple H opens the show and announces Randy Orton vs. The Great Khali, Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio and Cody Rhodes vs. Ezekiel Jackson with the Intercontinental Title on the line for tonight. World Heavyweight Champion Christian comes out and wants to talk to the WWE COO. Christian threatens to sue Triple H if he doesn't change the SummerSlam match against Randy Orton. Triple H says Christian has no respect and will still face Orton on Sunday and be in action tonight.
* Sheamus beat Christian by count out. Christian walked off and stood at the ramp as the referee counted him out.
* Natalya and Beth Phoenix beat AJ Lee and Kaitlyn. Face pop for Beth and Natalya here. Beth pinned AJ while Natalya put Kaitlyn in the Sharpshooter.
* Backstage segment with Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes arguing with Teddy Long. Zack Ryder and Aksana are there.
* Backstage segment with Mark Henry and Johnny Curtis.
* Sin Cara beat Tyson Kidd in a decent match. Hard to tell if Cara is someone else under the mask. Cara came out to a huge reaction.
* Alberto Del Rio beat Daniel Bryan by submission in a great match. Cheers for Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez before the match. Wade Barrett came out and attacked Bryan after the match.
* Cody Rhodes beat Ezekiel Jackson to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion after hitting Cross Rhodes.
* Backstage segment with Randy Orton talking about SummerSlam and tonight's match.
* Mark Henry beat Johnny Curtis. Sheamus came out after the match and confronted Henry.
* Randy Orton beat The Great Khali after an RKO. Christian came out and taunted Orton after the match, saying he's the best thing going.

YES! Rhodes is the new IC Champion! Cant wait to see that match and Del Rio vs. Bryan.

I just got back from this. Pretty good night. I was SOO happy Cody won the IC title. Best moment of the night. The diva match was pretty crappy but it got Beth another win so I take it she will lose at SS.  Bryan/ADR was solid as was Christian/Sheamus until the crap ending. Kidd/Gabriel which was an NXT match and it was given lots of time and was a great match imo. I finally got lots of pictures so I will try to post those later. |

Yes Rhodes! Now from what Cody said last week "Ted is free" and he can do whatever he want. Looks like Cody will have his first opponent! Ted will do what he wants and challenge Cody! make the rivalry happen!

bloody delighted with Cody winning the IC title, he has really deserved it since his draft to Smackdown!
Never thought Zeke was ready for the title anyways.

Ted will do what he wants and challenge Cody! make the rivalry happen! Yeah I can for sure see Cody and Ted feuding after Ted goes all Riley on Cody. More info on Cody's IC title win: After Cody won the belt him and Ted bagged Zeke. But when Cody went to get out of the ring Ted was still celebrating and Zeke got up. Poor Ted didn't know and he got a beat down and a press slam over the top rope. Zeke was aiming for Cody but Rhodes didn't help break Ted's fall she Ted went splat! So yeah I would think Ted would be pissed about that. I doubt they would break up so soon but later on say late Sep/Oct he and Cody could be done and officially feuding over the IC title. |

SummerSlam is "two days" after SmackDown!. Why not hold the title change off until then? Glad Cody won, but would have been better suited at the PPV.

^ Well considering there are about 4-5 potential matches I think they just wanted to do it now and have the others at SS instead of it.  Usually I like title changes on PPVs but this was a nice switch. |

To KingSilva,how'd the RKO on Khali look? I can only imagine how bad Khali probably took it. Good thing Randy has great leaping ability to do it on a guy his size. And Im sure I know but who got the bigggest face pop and heel heat?

HELL YEAH, Rhodes IC Champion, although I always wanted DiBiase to be IC Champion before him but any ways.
but tbh the IC title match should of been booked for SSlam.

To KingSilva,how'd the RKO on Khali look? I can only imagine how bad Khali probably took it. Good thing Randy has great leaping ability to do it on a guy his size. And Im sure I know but who got the bigggest face pop and heel heat? It actually looked pretty good. Randy was in the corner and I forget why Khali was more in the center of the ring and groggy but Orton ran at him and hit the RKO. I tried to get a picture but running shots usually up for me.  The match was pretty boring though.. Orton got the best face reaction and I think Christian got the best heel reaction. |
