Remember ECW? What did you like so much about ECW and what were the reasons for your liking of it? Also, please post some videos of ECW. I love those videos and never can get enough of them.

Wasnt a fan of anything that was on TNN or later. Everything on Hardcore TV all the way up to Eastern Championship wrestling was pretty good. I cant sit and watch it now but when I was a teenager, It was good.

I used to love the intro with the 'this is extreme' music and clips - I'd been in & out of wrestling for the best part of 4 years until I saw it in late 99 I think it was and was hooked.
I loved Dreamer, Raven, Awesome, RVD, Impact Players, Dawn-Marie.

Absolutely loved it. Got to see it a few times live in Reading, PA. I saw The Eliminators beat Rob Van Dam & Chris Jericho in a fantastic match. Saw Tommy Dreamer & Ron (or Don) Harris have a street fight- literally. They took it outside the building & stopped traffic. I truly wish Paul Heyman would have hired someone to keep track of the money in ECW. Who knows? Maybe they'd still be in business?

I was a big fan of the orginial ECW my favorites were:
Shane Douglas Lance Storm Raven Sandman Terry Funk Justin Credible
For those of you that have seen it was the 2006 season of ECW (when it was first brought back) any good?

I loved the way The Dudleys would cause near riots just by playing to the audience. I'd post links from youtube, but there is too much cursing involved.

I loved the original ECW. I still do love ECW. I do not love what WWE turned it into, and I'm not talking about WWECW. I actually didn't mind WWECW because it was a breeding ground for new talent, which is what it was supposed to be (John Morrison, Sheamus, Miz for example).
I don't like that the WWE took the ECW name and marketed it into a reunion show, a second reunion show, and multiple DVD's. I'm gracious that I can watch classic ECW matches on a DVD, thats not what irks me. The One Night Stand shows...2005 and 2006...how WWE had to be involved. I hated that. They were trying to turn ECW in a tribe. "The Tribe of Extreme."
It wasn't some stable.

It was quite groundbreaking. I was really young when I first saw it and just couldn't believe the stuff they were doing. It was a great alternative to WWF/WCW.

What drew me to ECW was that it had a more realistic feel to it. The feuds seemed more personal, violent and meaningful (Raven vs. Dreamer as an example). The wrestlers were a mix of guys that made Hogan look like Steamboat, to guys like RVD and the Technical Trio (Eddy/Malenko/Beniot).
But the thing ECW did better than any other company were the filmed promos and vignettes. Look up any of the Raven introduction videos, and Cactus Jack Promos.

I loved that it was different to anything else out there, that it was loved by the fans and that the ECW Arena became synonomous with amazing moments and matches in ECW.
I loved the fact that talented guys that were given a chance to shine and work how they wanted to in front of appreciative fans.
I loved how original, realistic and edgy it was, everything from the camera work on Hardcore TV to the numerous chants you hear from fans all over the world these days.
I hated the numerous camera cuts to the WWE superstars during One Night Stand 2005, and that ECW needed Steve Austin at the end. ONS '06 was a step back, and of course we all know what happened after that.
Like KOK, I'm grateful I have some ECW DVDs from WWE's video library, but they have the 'razor' logo and that to me just isn't the same. I wished Vince wouldn't have used the ECW name, but it's business, what can you do.
All in all, I loved ECW, but hated how it ended.
