Lol.
Today I officially bit the bullet and bought figs from Ringside. Local stores have become way too unreliable and it got to a point where I was sick of searching. Glad I got in this morning seeing as how much our dollar has now dropped, it'll probably only get worse as this downturn goes on, so better to buy now. Also, factoring in shipping I basically paid $30 extra than if I'd bought them in-store but given it's elite Jericho and yet-to-be-locally-released Morrison, Miz and Edge, I think it was worth it.
In addition, I'm getting my money back for my Soundwave Revolution ticket (what a bloody joke. Van Halen and Limp Bizkit drop out = event cancelled) so really it's not like I'm paying extra... I guess...

The lack of effort by Mattel is less depressing tbh. I didn't even want to see Van Halen. I was more going for Alter Bridge, Alesana, The Used, Zebrahead, All Time Low, Panic and Sum 41.

Saw b10 ziggler at target. With yet more b4 which seems to be showing up everywhere.
Big w had no b10 but they got the rumbler two packs for 9.64 and the taker/morrison setup sets for $14something.

How come everyone is finding these figures I've never seen in stores! Grr! It seems like before they disappeared, you could say the retailers thought Geelong was a town full of Matt Hardy and Shad marks, because they were the only ones in sight. These days I can't find anything

Seems like the Rumblers line will have a steady price amongst stores. I've found the entire Basic 10 minus Hunter at my TRU, picked up Ryder and Barrett hopefully Ziggler this weekend since there's been 2 of em' for about two weeks now hopefully kofi and hhh will show up as I plan on getting the whole set. Also picked up a Mickie James today!

I was tempted to get the rumblers but its better value to buy the battle royal pack at tru, id like to get some rumblers other than the morison/rey i have from the SVR11 preorder. Might go TRU this weekend and maybe check for b10 too depending if i have time.

I'd say it's retailers fault. I mean, admittedly, we're not as big as countries such as US, so there's gonna be a lot less demand.
Add to that the current state of our economy (especially the retailing sector) and really it's a wonder that figures were even stocked this year.

The retailers are not those at fault. It's the poor sales of our beloved products that cause these stores to not put new stock on the shelfs if there's no "movement". Even when on clearance, Mattel can't seem to sell a damn WWE product because of this problem.
Ask yourselves this; if the shelves at your local Target are filled with Mattel's Signature Series and have sold next to nothing in a month, do you think there going to put out a newer product i.e Basic 9/10?
The answer is of course not. Retailers would barely know that the SS series is somewhat outdated and should order another set from their warehouses. Because it's not going to sell; in which saves them money by not ordering more stock and eventually having to mark down the items by default just to make a dollar.
Having working in retail, I know the process in which all products are dealt with in situations like these.

Miz is correct to an extent. The whole reason for our current crappy distribution does come back to sales. HOWEVER the sales reason is because of the retailers themselves. The idiots dont have any idea of the product, Mattel has stated they give all retailers their ENTIRE catalogue but since its not the US obviously they wont order everything so they are selective. The problem is that the retailers make the dumbest decisions. They tend to order all of the same stuff and huger quantities so they can offer a lower price i.e. L3 and E6. The problem with this is every store ends up having the exact same stock and huge amounts of it and once people buy a figure, its very unlikely they are going to buy a duplicate therefore the amount is greater than the demand (and purchases) so stores dont order new stuff cause they are clogged with the older stuff as a result of their crappy decision making.
So yeah sales are part of it but the reason for the crappy sales is because of the choice available and the choice available is because of the retailers and their distributors/wholesalers/ordering people who make wrong decisions.
Mattel is not to blame here, its the retailers, be it indirectly.

In my POV, it all falls back on the sales. The sales depict whether more stock is needed for a particular product (in our case WWE/Mattel). The chain of command from the distributors to stores are somewhat to blame. Yes, you can say they making the "wrong decsions" but they make their choices from the facts, these facts are the poor sales.
Stores most likely don't have an understanding of the product so how would they know that this series is old or this. They would not even have the need to check for newer sets as they are not needed due to poor movement of sales.
The only reason why I have basic 9/10 at Toys R Us is that they only had a total of 4 basic figures prior to ordering new stock. I.e. If they see that the pegs are filled with "Basics" then why would they order more? When there's nowhere to put it?
