The red and black Steamboat proto was recently sold on eBay. Pretty sure he, black shirt Hillbilly, King Haku and Adonis with molded scafs (as soon on the back of the LJNs) were never produced.
On the back od the LJN cards you can also see a prototype Jimmy Hart with multi-colored hearts on his megaphone. It was also never released, but fortunate enough I was able to purchase it from Jimmy Hart jr., who -at the time- sold a bunch of his father's wrestling stuff, such as his ring jackets, sunglasses etc.
Would gladly post pictures when interested.

Sure, I'd love to see some pics. For those that haven't seen it, here is the prototype LJN Jimmy Hart. I wouldn't imagine yours would be any different from this one. It is a bit different as that prototype shows the entire megaphone to be pink. My prototype is different. The megaphone itself has more hearts on it than the production piece. The production figure (or at least all that I have seen) have white hearts only on the side of the megaphone (and a pinkish one at the opening). The resin prototype that I have has both pink and white hearts. He also has red laces, which the production figure does not have. This is the pic from the Database proto (left); production (right) Btw... still have my doubts about the black carded Adonis. It still seem too weird for LJN to make while a) he was no longer on contract and b) he was no longer alive.

It's funny that after all these years and years there are so many questions that still remain with the LJN series. I think it is funny you mention that because I was thinking along the same lines. I've never been a big collector of the LJNs and I always thought there were collectors that had the entire collection of LJNs. But the reality is there are a lot of unanswered questions about LJN figures and the idea of a complete LJN being owned by one person is quite the accomplishment.

I have never seen a black card ljn adonis figure either, but then again until a couple years ago I had never seen a black card studd either so I don't know. It's funny because up till about 3 or 4 years ago I thought I knew alot about the ljn's but after these rare black cards of earlier figures started showing and the ljn price guide that showed alot of different variants (such as the sheik with painted belt loops and non painted belt loops, savage in orange and purple tights and some others), I have no clue what actually exists and what doesn't.... Don't forget there is also proto types of the killer bees with painted boots......And I believe some one on here had pics or confirmation about the LJN Vince McMahon figure that Vince has in his titan headquarters that has him in a metallic blue coat or something like that.......I would still like the confirmation about the Jake the snake and king Kong Bundy Thumb wrestlers, I was 100% convinced they were only released together until stom received the Bundy one MOC... These Thumb wrestlers were available for order thru a magazine when I was younger and when I ordered them to complete my thumb collection I received a phone call from LJN saying they were no longer available and I could pick something else or have a refund. and there have been other reports that the figures were exclusive to canada or the UK (don't remember which) but if that was the case, then why were they available for order in a US magazine (catalog) If anyone has Jake MOC (I've had several loose ones) I would love to see it.

I have a pic of the Vince McMahon figure. He is in a blue jacket and grey pants (Instead of the red and blue attire the figure was released with).
Does anyone have any pics of the LJN molds an ebay seller sold off a year or so ago? I remember one he sold was of an unproduced SGT Slaughter. The Mold was a ring gear slaughter (Jimmy snukas ljn pose, no hat) not the one hasbro released that we all know about. I remember the seller had several of the molds and some were different poses than what were released.

This is Slaughter: I bought a Snuka mold from this seller... basically it a big heavy block of plaster.

STOMWIJF, have you used those molds at all? I mean have you made either Sgt. or Snuka or are the molds not good anymore?

i remember seeing those molds on ebay..the ones i seen were those you guys showed..plus slick, series one hogan,..so if there was a mold made for that unreleased slaughter...that should mean that there is a prototype floating around somewhere...probably in some old persons attic,lol..them not knowing that its practically treasure...wow..this ljn talk is interesting..

does anyone have a link to the most detailed LJN checklist? I've come across a few on google and ebay, but just wondering if I'm missing a better one with all varients.

Hey guys, really interesting stuff here. I don't have much knowledge to add to the black card discussion, but I do remember those molds that were being sold on ebay. I kept an eye on that Slaughter for a long time, but it was WAY out of my price range, about $1,850.00 buy it now or something like that, IIRC. I really wanted to get my hands on it and actually attempt to cast and paint the figure, but not for that price tag. I would have given it a shot if the price was much, much lower, but I never saw it go low enough for me. I also remember a thread here awhile ago about the other molds the seller had for sale at one time or another, including a Rick Rude in a robe. Being a huge Rude fan, I searched for that one pretty often, but never saw it. That seller does have alot of LJN items on ebay now, including a Black Card Honky!!! I also lost an auction awhile ago for a Hogan head mold from a different seller. I could've sworn it was a different mold than either LJN Hogan head, but the seller assured me it was the standard yellow tights Hogan head. I probably just have bad eyes Take a look (credit to said ebay seller)

STOMWIJF, have you used those molds at all? I mean have you made either Sgt. or Snuka or are the molds not good anymore? I only have Snuka, not Sarge.... one of these blocks of plaster was enough. Have not tried making a figure from the mold. Wouldn't know which kind of rubber or plastic I should use or where to get it.
