I really enjoyed this movie, even though everything outside of Grillo's performance was amateur hour. I'll just pretend he's the Punisher in this. I agree his performance was pretty good. Not seen him in a lot of stuff but I was impressed. He's in the newest Captain America and is badass, he plays crossbones. He's also really good in the movie Disconnect |

Elysium - 2/5
I had read a lot of negative reviews in regard to Neil Blomkamp's Elysium, but I was quick to disregard them considering my love for District 9--it is one of my favorite sci-fi films of the last decade. Elysium started off strong, and it appeared as if there would be a stable balance between action and intriguing thematic elements--such as premium health care being reserved for those who can afford it, immigration, social classes, etc.--needless to say, I thought I was in for a treat! That anticipation and excitement was completely dissipated once the second act started. The film essentially took every theme it presented and threw it out the script. Elysium, for no apparent reason, takes on an overbearing action tone that not only completely contrasts the tone the film sets at the beginning, but consequently, also caused me to care less and less for the characters. Much of what I loved about District 9 was the script's ability so seamlessly blend its thematic elements with intense and entertaining action sequences. Elysium made it to point to choose between the two, and unfortunately, it chose action over substance, and to be frank, the action wasn't anything to marvel at.

 Not Another Teen MovieSurprisingly funny and entertaining. I expected it to be terrible.  Wayne's WorldOne of my favourite movies of all time, just amazing. Holds up so well.  There's Something About MaryAnother great comedy that holds up excellently. So many laugh out loud moments.  As Above, So BelowHmm not bad. Extremely tense in places. It was kind of like The Descent but with a proper story to it. |

 watched it on Cinemax on demand. Was just looking for something short to watch b4 i went to bed. Not bad. I expected it to be horrendous. Held my interest |

Dark Shadows on Blu-Ray. Actually, I only managed half - it put me to sleep. I'm not a fan. I tried really hard to enjoy the movie, as I'm a big JD fan and I enjoy all of Pfeiffer, HBC and Eva Green in just about everything they've done but a great cast wasn't enough. It's fun and campy at the beginning but it drags so much ass through the middle of the film. By the time you get to the main scene at the end you're over it, or at least I was. I tried to get through it a second time and couldn't do it. |

My Left Foot
I'd give it a 6/10 overall (quite a good performance, interesting story, but a bit corny at the end...the payoff isn't really there, but it is a good acting performance & a 6 doesn't mean it sucks

It started off with potential but boy did that disappear quickly. Throw in some shocking CGI and unbelievable characters and you have a really shitty movie. |
