angel heart [1987]
rourke is young in this one. started it a few days ago and finished today. movie starts to deter as there is little progression for the majority of the body of the film, however it kept my attention and had a strong finish. interesting ties of culture and race in this one.

X-Men 3: The Last Stand.
Was okay, nothing great though. Sir Ian McKellen is brilliant as Magneto.

Around the Bend 3 - Felt like a made for TV movie, I really don't understand how Caine and Walken were in this.
The Nines 6 - Some interesting stuff, a good performance by Reynolds but in the end it was a let down.

north by northwest [1959]
cary grant is in some serious trouble! hitchcock creates utter psychological terror with this one. would've preferred jimmy stewart in the role over grant, but oh well, it worked.

I actually watched 2 movies today. Just was one of those days when watching movies sounded like a good idea. Anyway here is what I watched. 8.5/10Used one of my $5 coupons I had for VUDU and watched this earlier today. Absolutely loved it. One of the better movies I've seen this year. This is one of those movies that I knew I wanted to see when I first saw the trailer and in my opinion it was just as good as I thought it would be. Great story combined with great acting made this one a must buy for me when it comes out at the end of the month. 7.5/10Picked this one up as a blind buy earlier today at Best Buy. Wasn't quite as good as Source Code but I still really enjoyed this as well. Now I really didn't know what to expect when I bought it earlier but after finishing it I found the whole story between McConaughey & Phillippe's characters to be very interesting. Watching this makes me wonder how many times in an attorney's career he or she goes into a trial knowing the client they are defending is guilty, but they have no choice but to do whatever it takes to try to keep them out of prison. How someone could live knowing they helped a criminal go free is beyond me. But I highly recommend at least giving this one a rent. If you are a fan of the judicial system then I really think you'll enjoy this one.

After I finished reading the book I decided to watch the movie, although the movie is nice, I enjoyed the book a lot more. The book was amazing and the movie doesn't compare much. I'll give it a 5/10

the untouchables [1987] really disappointing, really campy, not enough de niro, too much sean connery being a goofy .

on the waterfront [1954]
brando is electrifying, primal, intense.
found it amusing how the priest in the film, karl malden, was also in another classic film with brando, streetcar named desire of a few years before.

Karl is, too. i'd agree with brando. malden, however, very much found his role in this one as the 'defender'. on a side note, blanche dubois may be the most irritating woman to ever be in a major motion picture. no offense to vivien leigh, who played the role well, but ugh.
