Hello, UWA fans! Colin Howard here again with some big news. UWA Championship Committee Head: Shane McMahon has made it known that he is going to issue a statement on Raw, regarding the degrading news stories about the Universal Wrestling Association that are making their way around the 'dirt-sheet' wrestling news sites.
One man, who's columns are especially frustrating Mr. McMahon, is Dave Meltzer. Meltzer, who considers himself an expert, is actually hated among most members of the Internet Wrestling Community, and apparantly, now by Mr. McMahon. Here is the latest addition posted to Mr. Meltzer's site:
"It's apparent to me, and the rest of the IWC, that Shane McMahon is blatantly trying to mimic his father's product, due to the fact that he isn't good enough to come up with his own. When Shane decided to start up the UWA, he said he wanted an alternative to the WWE. Instead, we got a WWE ripoff, and a match at Freedomania that was a WWE-advertised match. Sure, Shane has taken some of his father's stars, but to put Rock and Cena at Freedomania, when his father was hyping the match for Wrestlemania 28 before the inception of the UWA, should be enough evidence to show that Shane can't run a company like his father. Shane isn't Vince. We all know that. But, he shouldn't try and be Vince. He needs to create an identity of his own, and until he does that: The UWA will always be a second-rate company in my book. Vince and the 'boys up north' will get along just fine without Cena, Rock, Punk and Orton. Vince has unlimited resources, and it doesn't seem like those four leaving the company has hurt WWE's ratings, or helped the UWA's. The WWE can, and will survive. Heck, they already have proven it. Triple H and Alberto Del Rio are headlining SummerSlam: an event that's pre-order sales already top that of UWA's Freedomania match. Just another thing that proves that Shane will never top his father. Shane O', you can keep on trying, but as long as there's a big headquarters building in Stanford, Connecticut: Your little company will always be in Big Brother, or in this case, Big Daddy's shadow.
-Dave Meltzer
From what I'm told, Mr. McMahon is furious, and plans on unleashing his anger on the next edition of Raw. Stay tuned, and visit UWAWrestling.com for more information.
