On to the animation:
The movements we're alright and the spacing was decent. You should work on your reactions and make them slightly realistic. A decent animation for someone that hasn't animated in 6 months as you said.

You're a lot better than I remember, its kinda choppy in places and but its vaguely smooth.
The jump is pretty fidgety, try keeping the foot node in the same place to avoid that.
The arm is also kinda stiff too, needs to bend more during the jump/air.
I like the hit, but the reactions are kinda quick for the guy getting hit, whereas the attacker falls slowly, also needs more bending of the joints and shouldn't fall as far back.
Didnt like the sit up at the end either.
I seem pretty negative lol, but its good, just needs improvments.
