I never understood why did Hogan and Savage not like each other?

I believe Savage suspected Hogan of trying to nail Elizabeth.

I haven't seen the Beefcake shoot, but that version of the story sounds interesting.
One explanation I've heard somewhere (maybe Hogan?) is that Savage blamed Hulk & Linda for Elizabeth leaving him, because they befriended her around the time she decided to divorce him.

I have a personal opinion that Hogan blackballed Savage in a possible return. Hogan came back in 2002, shortly thereafter, signed a figure deal with Jakks. Then came the CS figure deal. We all wanted Savage in the line, but I think that Hogan pulled weight and said it was him or Savage with the nWo return in 2002. There was a period where Hogan and Savage did not speak for 10 years, and I think this was a possible reason behind it. And as soon as Mattel took over the WWE figures, and Hogan was not under a WWE figure license agreement, we got Savage. Coincidence? Yeah probably. Possible reason behind the dislike between the 2? Yeah possible.

Savage always felt Hogan was trying to cut his legs out from under him, which he would definitely have a point about. Hogan always seemed to one-up Savage whether he was the face or the heel. Most notably look at Savage's three WCW title reigns. The first one he won at World War 3 in 95 where Hogan wasn't technically eliminated and so he bitched about it and gave Macho attitude, the second one Savage beat Sting at Spring Stampede 98 only to drop it to Hogan the very next night on Nitro, and the third at Bash at the Beach 99 Savage won the title in a tag match only to drop it once more to Hogan the next night on Nitro AGAIN. Savage never really had a chance.

Surprisingly, I think you'd probably have to put most of the blame on Savage. Savage was always the #2 guy and I dont care what profession you're in, thats going to bother you. It wouldnt surprise me if Savage wasnt a little jealous and insecure about that.....
Speaking of insecure, Hogan (and a few others) has said that Savage blamed Hogan for his divorce from Liz and breaking up with Gorgeous George. I think Savage was just super insecure and a basket case for so man years, he burned his own bridges.

Vinces attitude towards him only cooled in the last year and even at that-it didnt cool that much.if it had he would have featured on his own DVD......
