I'd imagine create a play/create a team are the same as they have been in previous years.
As for online, I got into one game but then couldn't connect to the servers.
Started my franchise with the Bucs, 2-0 in the pre-season. Trying to find the right slider/difficulty settings...pro is too easy, but I have a tough time passing in All-pro.

I play a custom setting of one notche below All Madden and it works well for me.
Started my Rookie last night. Got drafted to the Redskins, where I beat out Beck and Grossman for the starting position. 1-0 so far. I enjoy the idea of the Superstar Mode and all that, but sometimes the camera angle from the QB's standpoint is annoying and not very helpful.
A little dissapointed to see SO many cutscenes from last year used again (looking at you Super Bowl games) Just because they zoom in on one little part doesn't make it a whole new scene.

Finished my pre-season 4-0, 1-0 in the regular season. Signed some O-line man who was a 91, Lofa Tatupu, and Brian Westbrook to backup Blount.
Might do a superstar later on...had my guy in his sophomore year in NCAA 12 before I got bored with the game, so whenever I revisit it I will finish it out and import him into this game.

Trying to find the right slider/difficulty settings...pro is too easy, but I have a tough time passing in All-pro. I'm having the same problem with passing. On Pro I can blow a team out and throw for like 600 yards. On All Pro I go like 3 for 30 and 35 yards.

Just gotta mess with the sliders. I've found my comfort zone on All-Pro by using the right sliders. Also definitely depends on the certain QB's you use.

Anybody know how to turn off accelerated clock run off? My Madden, My Settings, Game Settings. You should also be able to turn it off in the pre game options in Exhibition, and under Franchise Options in Franchise Mode.

Anybody know how to turn off accelerated clock run off? I read that you can't turn it off in Franchise mode. I don't know for sure, since I don't have the game yet.

I'm pretty sure it's not in franchise mode, unless I read it wrong.

It's in franchise. The CPU does one drive, and the quarter is over. I get the ball once, they get it once, then halftime. They get it once, I get it once, game over. Unless, I int them.
And why are the qb's so quick this year. Everyone is Michael Vick.

So if you're playing as or against the Tennessee Titans, at the coin flip Gus always refers to them as the 'New York Titans' which were the classic teams before they became the New York Jets of today. Kinda annoying that they didn't even notice this bug.

Just bought my copy. I'll probably lose more than I win online but that's to be expected, since every time I play an American on FIFA I always win. So now it's the other way around as I play them at their game.
Also, is there a reason why there is no manual with the game? This is the first game I've ever seen without a booklet inside.

In an effort to go green, a majority of gaming companies are now putting their manuals in-game, so they don't have to print up the 15+ page paper manuals for every single copy of their game they make and ship out.

That makes sense then. Although I will miss flicking through the manual when I buy a game. With past Madden games I liked to have the control pages open beside me for reference but I think I've learned enough about the game now that I don't need it.
Only played two exhibition games so far on Pro difficulty so that I can work out which sliders I need to adjust and it feels like a totally different game compared with last year. Getting a much lower pass accuracy but still won anyway, with more realistic scorelines compared to other years (15-10 and 24-10 results.)

So I picked up the new Madden on Tuesday and I'm at week 11 now and besides the fact that I've lost my 2 favorite Raiders for almost the season after week 5 with herniated discs (McFadden is out until Week 15 & Scott is out until week 16) I've noticed every single home game I've played for Oakland so far has been in the rain. (including the 2 pre season games) Does it really rain that much in the Bay? Or is there some sort of glitch in the game?
Update I just lost Michael Bush for 8 weeks (the rest of season) with herniated discs also. I guess I need to finish the season with Rock Cartwright and Rookie Taiwan Jones as my HB's.
Bush finished the season (11 games) with 184 carries for just over 1300 yards and 18 TD's. McFadden was 140 carries for just under 1300 yards with 19 TD's before he got injured after week 5.

I pimpslapped my buddy Brandon last night for our first game of the "season". We will more or less play one or two games of Madden a week until we get bored of the game, which is.....never really.
Anyways, after his last outing of throwing 5 picks to me after playing the demo one time, he's had a little bit to play and get used to the mechanics. Usually he is the one owning me, but not this time.
49-17 4 Rushing TDs 1 Fumble Recovery returned for a TD 20 for 22 with 2 TDs
I honestly couldn't be more happy with the passing this year. The game more or less forced me to play more realistically, which I don't mind at all. I enjoy feeling the pressure and having to get some passes off faster, vs being able to wait in the pocket and launch something downfield. I find myself, when the pocket collapses, being able to dodge and still stay remotely close to the pocket. Obviously, if I need to roll out or back up, I will. But I just feel really comfortable and in control with this game.
Granted the next time I miss a pass, I'm going to be pissed and cursing this blasted passing system.....but oh well.
