Seriously, I just wanted to let you guys know that. I think it's so cool, and very rare, to find a little board (or sub-board LOL) full of wrestling fans from the 80s and early 90s who all remember and love the same things - Bobby and Gorilla on commentary, Demolition, the '92 Rumble, Hasbro action figures and the plastic blue ring, the old entrance themes, etc.
Not only that, but everybody seems really cool, there's never any fights or arguments and everyone seems to have that same respect.
So..that's it. Thanks guys! ;D

yeah,i always come to this sub-board first before i look at anything else... i grew up on wrestling....my father used to watch it when i was younger, but it never really appealed to me... then kids in my school started to wear shirts they got at the events here ( St. Joseph's School here in town used to run WWF card's about 5 or 6 times a year)...Andre,Ivan Putski, Superfly Snuka...so it piqued my curiosity... one night i turned on USA Network, and they had a wrestling show on...don't remember the name of the show (pretty sure it wasn't All American Wrestling, which was exclusive to Sunday's at noon, and TNT didn't exist yet) ,and saw my first wrestling match ever : Jimmy Snuka vs IC Champ Magnificent Muraco in the Steel Cage.... after that,i was hooked...i've taken a "break" here and there... late 1986-early 1987 was one, just cause i was sick of Hogan and figured after Andre beat him at WM III i wouldn't see him in the spotlight all the time ( ) ...but overall i love wrestling! though, honestly, the last couple years of product have been a disservice i think, so i find myself going back more and more to the good ol days...

Agreed, this is my favorite non-activity board. There's zero to no fighting, and there is always great discussion.

I agree, this is my favorite part of Wrestling Figs. I lurked on this site for a good year before I signed up and I would always sift through all the interesting threads on this board.
I'm 21 so I didn't actually watch wrestling during the early-90s (I started watching in '95) but once I did start watching my dad rented and eventually bought me all the tapes. Because of that, i fell in love with early-90s WWF and it remains my favorite era. I really enjoy reading about anything from that era on this board.

I also like the current "WWE, Pro Wrestling board but sometimes the "Classic" board is much better, as others has said there's no fighting and theirs always good topics

As someone who can't stand the "wrestling" of today, but is obsessed with all things having to do with the WWF and WCW during the late 80's and early 90's this board is like a godsend. And it really is refreshing to have a place on this forum where absolutely no fighting occurs

^ Amen. I think the only occasional bickering is when one old fart (me) can't remember the correct facts & gets politely corrected.
Now where's my other shoe?

lol the great thing about this board is it is all opinion based, and everybody here seems to respect each others opinions. I think partly because it is "old school" and we are all older school ourselves lol. I don't post a ton, but it is one of the first things I check everyday, brings back so many memories

(I'm a fan of Ryder, so not taking a knock at him or his fans.), but here, people respect each others opinions since mainly this stuff happened like 10-20 years ago anyway.

well this is a nice thread to read through.I genuinly look forward to coming in here every day and seeing what new(usually good to great)threads have been started.
its a Godsend to me too because I love all things wrestling from 85 to 2003ish.there was sopme great moments after that too but not as many.
its also refreshing to see hardly any fights in here.the likeminded-ness of this community makes the conversation flow.
even when we correct one another in here its done with good tone and manners-a true rarity on WFigs

It really is one of the best forums I've ever been part of, I've followed WWF (still refuse to call it WWE) since Oct 1990, but there are topics that crop up on here that I am still not aware of, still learning about even though its nearly 21 years as a fan.
Also for the newer fans that haven't been following as long as some of us, its nice to pass on our memories or opinions of an angle, storyline, match, etc that they would like to know about.
I don't think there's anything better than wrestling history, finding out about old PPV's, champions, wrestlers, matches its just superb.

I love the topics about late 90s and early 2000s. Only because they don't show up too often :-P

I was actually talking to my uncles a couple months ago and they thought it was still called WWF and that WWE was like an indy promotion haha
