during the attitude era is it true hawk 'committed suicide' because i dont remember it. I remember they played off his drug and alcohol addictions but did WWE go to far and have him 'jump off' the titantron
if so, anyone got a video of it?

I thought they played it off like Droz pushed him because he wanted to take his place in LOD?
I dunno, I can't remember it was like 10 years ago.

Wikipedia Report~
Attitude Controversy
In 1998 the Legion of Doom became involved in their most controversial angle to date, playing off Hawk’s real life drug and alcohol problems. Hawk started to show up drunk or “Unable to perform” on TV (according to the storyline). As Hawk proved more and more erratic and unreliable, a 3rd L.O.D. member, Puke, was introduced to team with Animal while Hawk dealt with his personal issues. The storyline ended with accusations that “Puke” had been the "enabler" of Hawk's problems, exploiting them to to take Hawk’s place in the team. During this segment, Hawk infamously was shown to have fallen off the Titan Tron. It was a controversial segment that pushed the envelope of good taste and that was the hallmark of the WWF's "Attitude" era. Neither Hawk nor Animal approved of the WWF exploiting Hawk’s personal problems, essentially making light of them by turning it into a storyline and left the WWF [23].

Yeh WWF had a storyline where they used Hawks Acohol problems on air. In weeks a new member of LOD had came in Puke(droz) As the weeks went on Animal was getting disgusted with Hawk and it seemed like Animal started pushing hawk away. As this went on we come to the Top of the Titan Tron Controversary. As I remember it was Puke that did push Hawk off the Titan Tron.
Then I think a month or so later Puke and Hawk had a match on Raw, where I forgot who wins but like after the match Puke attacked Hawk and Animal came to the save. And puke was no longer in LOD.
I thnk that's what happened.

I remember watching that live. Being 8 or 9 i was in shock to say the least. What a great time in wrestling that was. Even though it was because i was a kid and it was all believable to me, but i still love it. And yeah, it was him attempting to jump off, Droz climbed up to stop him, and accidentally pushed him off. Then Droz took his place in the LOD and that was the last WWE(F) saw of Hawk. Now he has passed on and there are unfortunetly no chance of seeing any L.O.D. reunion.

Yeah, but they came back to WWE a couple years back and worked a few matches,
so I guess they weren't too mad to make a small comeback before Hawk's death.

Watch the Road Warriors DVD...I'm pretty sure they covered that story. But as I remember it Puke(Droz) climbed up the Tron after Hawk and when he reached for him Hawk pulled away and fell backwards. I don't remember Droz pushing him.

They left because they didn't like them exploiting his real life problem? Then they shouldn't have gone along with it in the first place.

The best thing is there was speculation of if Droz pushed him or not. But, from what I remember, Droz was never even really close to pushing him. He reached out to grab him, and Hawk fell backwards. His hand never really even came close to Hawk.

Omg, I never heard about this. Were there people in the crowd, or was it a "Before the show" segent? And what did he land on?
