How in the hell, did Vince McMahon think that this was gonna work? Any fans remember watching this a while back.
I'm not sure it I was born during this time, I was probably just an infant... but I probably wouldn't even gave this a second look

I remember seing ads for this in WWF magazine around 1992.....when I was 12 I culdnt undertsnad how this would be any good to look at!!
total vanityproject by Vince,he had conquered the wrestling world time to move onto bodybuilding which was passion of his too.another testament to his ego-WBF,XFL WWE movies all savage failures and wastes of money
I think the WWF and the WBF faced off in eps of family feud to promote this.cant be sure about that one though.

This must have been filmed shortly after WrestleMania VIII since the late Ray Combs was one of the celebrities at 'Mania VII As for the WBF, Vince was trying to make some extra money from all those supplments and other fitness products. Meanwhile, who could forget ICOPRO? |

Yeah Lex was, but they brought him in as the Narcissist soon after. On the topic of Icopro can anyone remember the advert in wwf magazine with an unpainted face Ultimate Warrior lifting weights, Im sure it was for Icopro and if it wasn't Warrior he must have a double, cant find pic though.

Thanks for posting this as I was going to make a thread of my own. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Lex Luger suppose to be the figure head of the WBF? he sure was.the often lazy and disinterested Luger was far better suited to bodybuilding than Pro Wrestling and he knew that himself. he was said to have been very dissapointed WBF folded. |

I think and don't quote me cause I'm into the whole bodybuilding thing that if Vince had the right people he could have gotten the Federation bigger.
Luger would have been awesome to have, look at guys like Ronnie Coleman, Shawn Ray etc. If he could have gotten these guys before they became big in the IFBB he would have been a little better off IMO. Not saying it would have lasted as long as say TNA has, but it would have lasted longer in my opinion.

Or maybe they are not trying to I don't know lol. Sales come from DVDs. They do a few theaters for a little extra revenue, but not like a full release or anything like that. People who see it pay 9 bucks to watch it and then (theoretically) 15-20 to own it. |

The bodybuilding mags were aghast at Vince's foray into their territory. They were outraged that Lou Ferrigno almost signed a contract with Vince. Of course that isn't fair but it's the truth. Vince's success in wrestling has actually been a hindrance to his other business ventures because of the public perception. |

One of the reasons Lex Luger was signed for the WBF originally was that he still had an active no-compete clause from his previous WCW contract, which meant he was not allowed to wrestle for another promotion just yet.
Therefore, by signing a bodybuilding contract with Vince McMahon, he was free to appear at promotions, etc. and as long as he didn't start wrestling before the clause expired, he was obeying the no-compete clause.
But rumor has it Luger was genuinely interested in trying his hand in the WBF too... so while there was the no-compete clause issue delaying his debut as a true "WWF superstar," it wasn't all about that loophole. Luger actually did want to try bodybuilding.

They produced a WBF magazine for a while, too. It started out as "Bodybuilding Lifestyles" (was a WBF and Titan Sports-focused magazine masquerading as a non-affiliated bodybuilding publication) and then later was changed to "WBF Magazine."
I had an issue of Bodybuilding Lifestyles up until a couple years ago when I discovered it in a box of old magazines and got rid of it.
