When did the Outlaws join DX? I must have overlooked that in this diary, because they weren't members until after WrestleMania. Really smart to open up with DX after coming off strong at No Way Out. Nice booking.
Once again, I didn't like the way you portrayed Austin. From standing on the ramp to the things he said. I would have expected him to hit the ring and raise hell rather than stand and deliver an elaborate promo. DX beat him down, have Michaels make the match if Austin "wants it". The Outlaws show up later ready for the match, mocking Austin because they don't expect him to show up, and he does, though visibly weakened. That would have been better, or at least some sort of physical interaction between Austin and DX to get the show started and the crowd going. This isn't 2011.
Nice opening match. Smart to go with something with some build to it. However, this highlights that the DOA were the weak link in their No Way Out team. Not good for them. Fully expected the Nation to go over. The finish was great for both Rock and D'Lo.
Yes! Fatu! Happy to see him win in his return match. Makes sense really. Reverse Piledriver? I'm thinking either Fatu is ripping off The Undertaker or he's performing a well-known banned move in the WWF, the one that broke Austin's neck at SummerSlam 97. Don't really like that. Would much rather he had something sort of relevant to his time as a Headshrinker, such as headbutts or a top rope splash, or to his Samoan heritage, such as a big Samoan Drop. Also, I'm pretty sure all of the Truth Commission members were over 300lbs, so I don't see Fatu pulling that move off regardless. Jackyl turning on Recon was cool. End of the Truth Commission, please.
Yes! Owen for the main event, please!
Nice little segment between Jarrett and Shamrock. Build for a possible match between them? I hope not, as I'd much rather see Rock/Shamrock for the IC belt. Shamrock going for the NWA belt would be a BIG demotion for him.
Glad to see TAKA retain. As I've said before, keep the belt on him, as he's the only legit Superstar I can see with the belt right now. TAKA/Brian/Scorpio at Mania?
Triple H/Owen is a great first hour main event. Sounds like they had a decent match, and in a decent amount of time. Would have preferred to see Chyna get physically involved rather than just slide the belt in, but it works either way. The DQ finish was ok. Going with Chyna sliding the belt in, it probably would have worked better for Triple H to clock Owen with the belt rather than Owen hit him. Alright finish anyway. The post-match stuff was really, really good for Owen. Could have been improved with DX coming to chase Owen away.
Nice win for the Nation here. Still going strong. Tension between Cactus and Chainsaw? Odd. I don't know where you'll be going with that but I think it's safe to say either Faarooq, Chainsaw or Cactus will challenge for The Rock's belt. I've got to be honest, in 1998 none of those sound too good.
"And in our main event, Road Dogg Jesse James takes on Stone Cold Steve Austin!" - Typo.
Poor Windham. He deserves better than jobbing to Kurrgan in 2 minutes. But it works for Kurrgan and Goldust new alliance, so I can't complain. Oddities!
Really liked the Bearer promo. It made Kane look even more of a monster, if that's possible at this point.
TAKER!
Ah, we get Jarrett/Shamrock here. It's a BIG win for Jarrett. The Rock's music playing was a nice touch to distract Shamrock. I can believe that because the man's insane. Vader's appearance was cool too. A rematch should be fun but I'm fully expecting Jarrett to retain. Interested to see how that plays out.
Mero/Sable stuff is just.. meh. Nothing on your booking, just something I don't care for. Jacqueline debut on the way? Cool.
Lol at Austin choosing Max Mini. It's something I could see Austin doing, or just going it alone. Would have actually meant more if Max wasn't taken out and ommitted from the post-match celebration with Austin, which would have been the ultimate rub in the Outlaws' faces. Though, I suppose you pulled that off when he made the pinfall. Spike Piledriver on Austin to end the show was really good. However, I would have liked to have seen DX ambush Austin as a group rathen than just the Outlaws. I think it's possible for Austin to deal with both Outlaws. However, to close the show as the show opened would have brought the "story" full circle in that Austin managed to get some momentum in this feud and "threaten" DX's stability a little by beating the Outlaws, but by laying out Austin twice in one night DX retains strength and momentum.
A decent episode, booking was good but could have been improved in places that were a bit obvious.

Chaz, reverse piledriver = what would later become known as the Rikishi Driver. Oh, the Rikishi Driver. It's slightly different than the Reverse Piledriver as the opponent is placed over the shoulder, but I see what you meant.

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 23rd February 1998 Waco, Texas - The Heart of Texas Coliseum
Dark Match: John Tenta def. Christian Cage | WWF Monday Night RAW - 8:57-10:06 CT | [Q1] We kicked off RAW is WAR tonight with a replay from last week as Stone Cold Steve Austin chose Max Mini to be his partner to go up against the New Age Outlaws, and during the match the WWF Tag Team Champions apparently 'discriminated' against minis everywhere when they gave Max Mini a severe neck injury. Steve Austin was then taken out, endangered with a Spike Piledriver himself; endangering to Austin's past neck injuries! The opening RAW video package aired as we go to Waco, Texas, Jim Ross and Michael Cole introducing us to RAW and mentioning how we are five weeks away from WrestleMania XIV! 1) WWF Intercontinental Championship: The Rock (c) def. Chainsaw Charlie to retain @ 5:20 - This was the opportunity for Chainsaw Charlie as Charlie had previously pinned The Rock last week at the No Way Out of Texas pay-per-view during the ten-man tag team no-holds barred war. Charlie was all over The Rock, Rock caught off-guard by Charlie maintaining a strictly wrestling style tonight, as opposed to his former ways of being a hardcore wrestler. Rock found himself running for cover from Charlie, as the announcers noted how the Nation had been banned from ringside. Rock soon took advantage, going after the back and working at it with a Sharpshooter. Rock nailed his People's Elbow for a near fall, Rock then going for the Rock Bottom but Charlie nailed a DDT! Charlie went up for the moonsault but Cactus Jack came out from under the ring and tripped him up! The official didn't see as Rock covered Charlie for the win. **
The Rock celebrated his win to boos as Cactus Jack climbed into the ring and clotheslined Rock! The WWF Intercontinental Champion rolled out of the ring quickly as Jack picked Chainsaw Charlie up and delivered a Double Arm DDT on his own former friend! Jack yelled in Charlie's unconscious ear about how he wanted WWF gold before the Nation's theme was heard! D-Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa made their way out as Jack grabbed a barbwire baseball bat and kept the Nation of Domination out of the ring!
| - Commercial Break - | Cactus Jack was still in the ring as we see returned to RAW, Chainsaw Charlie laid out, the Nation of Domination no longer in the arena as Jack was wielding the barbwire baseball, holding Charlie hostage with the bat against his own friend's throat, yelling for a WWF title opportunity! Many officials were lined up outside the ring, no referee dared to get in the ring! Suddenly Ken Shamrock snuck through the crowd, the "World's Most Dangerous Man" climbed into the ring and taking Jack down from behind! Shamrock applied the Ankle Lock as officials took the baseball bat away, Jack laughing maniacally in the Ankle Lock!
[Q2] In the backstage area we see Shawn Michaels standing with Mike Tyson as "Iron" Mike is laughing about how Cactus Jack seems to be a brutal son of a bitch. The "Heartbreak Kid" comments on how he's missing a few brain cells, as Shawn tells Mike to follow him, because they're heading to the ring to address something.
A WWF Attitude promo aired, showing Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Owen Hart, The Rock, Faarooq and The Undertaker.
The theme of D-Generation X hit as the WWF Champion, Shawn Michaels and "Iron" Mike Tyson led the New Age Outlaws, Triple H and Chyna to the ring to loud boos, the capacity crowd not appreciated the arrival of DX, especially after taking out Stone Cold Steve Austin as well as Max Mini last Monday night on RAW is WAR. Shawn talked about how they killed a midget, why should it matter to anybody? The "Heartbreak Kid" mentions how King Kong Bundy bodyslammed a midget at WrestleMania III, he didn't get fined. So why should Billy Gunn and Jesse James? Billy talks about how he was defending himself, because he knows he has a phobia of little people. Road Dogg agrees, as Triple H tells Shawn that he honestly thinks the whole ordeal was absolutely hilarious. Shawn talks about how Steve Austin is not here tonight due to the Spike Piledriver last week and neck concerns, so Shawn has a plan, and that plan is for the New Age Outlaws to defend the WWF Tag Team Championships, and tonight he will team with Triple H to take on two men as well! He says it'll be great.
| - Commercial Break - | [Q3] 2) WWF Tag Team Championship: The New Age Outlaws (c) def. Mosaic & Nova @ 1:16 - What did you expect? Ultimate sarcasm on display from the New Age Outlaws and D-Generation X as the New Age Outlaws were supposedly being punished for their acts of severely injuring Max Mini with the Spike Piledriver last week. Billy Gunn was originally bit in the kneecaps by Mosaic as Nova and Mosaic teamed up to take down Road Dogg and outsmart Bad Ass Billy Gunn several times but a stiff kick from Jesse James got the champions in control. Gunn went up and nailed the Fame-Asser on Nova for the win. n/a
The New Age Outlaws celebrated their win in mocking manner as the WWF Tag Team Champions seemed proud of what they had done to Nova in this match. Mosaic attended to Nova when Billy grabbed him, and Road Dogg went up and the two nailed the Spike Piledriver on him! The crowd were appauled by this as the champs left.
Vince McMahon, the boss of the World Wrestling Federation was shown in the backstage area as he barged right into DX's locker room, Shawn Michaels asking McMahon what was up. Vince tells Shawn not to play so cool, he knows himself what he's done wrong. HBK says to "Iron" Mike that he's in deep trouble, he senses it. McMahon tells the "Heartbreak Kid" that he's putting everybody in jeopardy by having them injured by the New Age Outlaws, the minis will not stand for this! He's getting lawsuits everywhere about the bad working place this is. Shawn tells Vince to relax, McMahon telling HBK no, and that tonight Triple H and Shawn Michaels will face actual superstars, Owen Hart and Cactus Jack! The crowd cheered as he left, Shawn looking angry.
| - Commercial Break - | [Q4] 3) Fatu def. Sniper (w/The Jackyl) @ 3:50 - This was Fatu's second match here in the World Wrestling Federation as the street fighting Samoan took on the other half of the remaining Truth Commission, the Jackyl having lost faith in Recon last week on RAW is WAR, Fatu having defeated him. The Jackyl seemed to be on the route to leading his revolution against Fatu and perhaps tried to brainwash him. Jackyl kept allowing Sniper to be respawned, and Sniper fired back at every chance. But Fatu once again overpowered Sniper, Fatu then nailing the Samoan drop and preparing for a finale with a big legdrop just for Jackyl to try and get involved. Fatu shoved him down and delivered the reverse piledriver renamed the 'Fatu Driver' for the win! *3/4
Fatu celebrated his win as The Jackyl was furious, Jackyl stomping away at Sniper until he got up! Jackyl got in Sniper's face and told him that he would be nothing without him! Sniper got angrier and angrier, going to lay a finger on him but being unable to fight the urge to do so! He did this repeatedly as suddenly a unique bleach blonde haired man with a white flannel shirt and fangs appeared, jumping Sniper from behind! Jackyl spectated in joy as this unknown enigma delivered a big implant DDT on Sniper before growling at the fans! Jackyl crowned hm as 'Gangrel' as the two left.
Marc Mero was shown in the backstage area as "Marvelous" Marc Mero was shown with his black sweetheart, Kevin Kelly standing by and asking Mero why he adapted this girlfriend after his date with his own wife Sable failed. Mero told Kelly that it had nothing to do with Kelly, with Sable, or with anybody in the WWF locker room. He says that he wants a divorce from Sable, and that he is happy with Jacqueline, despite what anybody says. Mero leaves to prepare for his match later tonight with TAKA Michinoku. | - Commercial Break - | [Q5] A WrestleMania XIV advertisement aired, and it will be live on pay-per-view on Sunday 29th March 1998 from Boston, Massachusetts. Five weeks away!
Vader was in the ring as we return to RAW, Vader with a microphone talking about how he wanted the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett and his screwy manager to come out here and confront him like men! The crowd cheered as Vader talked about how he was screwed by his own manager, the man he trusted and brought into the company. Instead, the theme of the "Big Red Machine" hit!
4) Kane (w/Paul Bearer) def. Vader @ 5:28 - The long awaited battle of the titans here in the World Wrestling Federation; everybody had seemingly been wanting to see this match for months dating to the "Big Red Machine"'s debut in the WWF last October. Vader pounded at Kane as Jim Cornette pranced to ringside in the opening moments, Cornette sitting at ringside and noting all of the big mastadon's faults. He noted Vader working away at the head of Kane and how it was stupid because Kane was a mere robot that absorbed pain and took in none of it! Vader delivered a powerbomb and Kane sat up! Kane continued the momentum as Kane tried the Chokeslam, Vader getting right back up himself! Vader had Kane where he wanted him when Jim Cornette got on the apron, Kane swerved him and nailed the Tombstone Piledriver for the win! **
Kane celebrated with his pyrotechnics as the crowd booed, Jim Cornette smugly leaving commentary and getting into the ring. Cornette stood tall over the downed Vader talking about how he wasn't NWA worthy and he never would be! WWF RAW came off the air as the announcers talked about how Paul Bearer had something to say at the top of the War Zone hour! RAW goes off the air.
| WWF WarZone @ 10:06-10:54 CT |
We return to the War Zone as Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler introduce us to the program, noting how Kane had previously defeated Vader and Paul Bearer apparently had comments for the crowd here in Waco, Texas.
Paul Bearer was shown still in the ring with the "Big Red Machine" Kane, Bearer talking about how what just happened was just the beginning of Kane's rise to the top of the World Wrestling Federation. In this, the "Big Red Machine" will take out anybody that gets in his way, will answer any calls and challenges and destroy everybody in sight in order for the WWF Championship to become possession of Kane's! Bearer talks about the faith he has in the "Big Red Machine", more than he ever had in the Undertaker. At that moment, a gong was heard as the crowd erupted! The lights flickered as Bearer told Kane to relax, and how nothing would happen. Kane nodded as the flickering continued, the TitanTron showing the Undertaker's burning symbol, the same we have seen in vignettes for weeks now! Another gong was heard, and it stated how the "Phenom" was not dead! The crowd cheered more as the screen read "HE WILL RISE". Bearer and Kane looked concerned as the Kane's 'rise to the top' will perhaps be put on hold!
[Q6] The Headbangers were shown in the backstage area earlier today, Mosh and Thrasher talking about the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship and how they were targeting it. Mosh talks about how he wanted it more than Thrasher, but Thrasher responded by saying he wanted it more! The two got into an amusing brawl broken up by officials before The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust's coffee was knocked into him by Mosh backing up! Goldust looked angry and yelled at the Headbangers that they would indeed pay for this act of stupidity!
| - Commercial Break - | 5) Marilyn Mandust & Kurrgan the Interrogator (w/The Jackyl) def. The Headbangers @ 3:56 - Kurrgan had a change of personality in this one as Kurrgan was wearing camoflauge and a red bandana, whilst the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust was wearing Marilyn Manson facepaint and clothing. Luna Vachon suited with him as Barry Windham, the veteran in professional wrestling had a game taking down Kurrgan, but he managed to do it with his almighty power in the opening moments. Kurrgan used his size and numbers game as he grabbed a clawhold on Windham's skull. Barry fired back, the original Blackjack member managing to take him down with the Western Lariat! Windham pinned but TAFKA Goldust got on the apron. Windham chased him down but Kurrgan got up and gave Barry the Chokeslam for the win. *1/2
The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust celebrated his win with Kurrgan, as they seemed to be seriously making an impact, especially having defeated the Headbangers tonight. Goldust seriously had his back up in the name of Kurrgan.
In the backstage area we see Jeff Jarrett watching RAW is WAR with the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder. Jim Cornette entered the locker room of "Double J" distressed, talking about how Vader seemed to still be after him for No Way Out of Texas. Jarrett wondered if Vader would ever let it go that Cornette didn't like him.
| - Commercial Break - | A WWF Magazine commercial aired, as promoted by Vic Venom.
[Q7] 6) Non-Title: TAKA Michinoku (w/Sunny) (c) def. Marc Mero (w/Jacqueline) @ 5:20 - Sunny seemed to be sort've smitten with TAKA Michinoku as the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion was being watched by many smaller superstars in the World Wrestling Federation throughout this match, amongst them the Headbangers, Scorpio, Brian Christopher, Los Boricuas, Scott Taylor, El Pantera and Mr Aguila. Plenty of competition, but he was facing a former WWF Intercontinental Champion tonight, "Marvelous" Marc Mero. Mero had Michinoku locked in a sleeper with nowhere to go, Mero having slowed TAKA down. Mero accidentally allowed the battle to go back to its feet, and Michinoku easily took Mero down with dropkicks and kicks, TAKA with a springboard moonsault into a reverse DDT! Sunny and Jacqueline got into a catfight as Mero went for a TKO, and Michinoku rolled it into a rolling cradle for the win! **1/4
TAKA Michinoku celebrated his win, then sliding out of the ring quickly, Marc Mero looking angry in the ring, Jacqueline getting in the ring to try and calm "Marvelous" Marc down, when suddenly Sable strutted out in a bikini! Sable smirked at Jacqueline as the crowd went nuts for her! Mero hated it.
In the backstage area the "Black Hart" was shown with Michael Cole asked him what he was going to do tonight knowing he has to team with a dysfunctional Cactus Jack. Owen mentions how he's going to make the best of an awkward situation and avoid Cactus, and try and get another WWF Championship shot, because he knows he deserves it and everybody else does as well. He just needs to avoid the New Age Outlaws, Mike Tyson, Triple H and Chyna in this. Shawn Michaels did this, and Shawn Michaels will pay!
| - Commercial Break - | Vader was shown throwing crates around in the backstage area, yelling for Jeff Jarrett and Jim Cornette's asses! Vader had had enough, as Commissioner Slaughter, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco as well as many referees tried to follow him!
7) Ken Shamrock def. D-Lo Brown by disqualification @ 3:33 - This was a decent opportunity for D-Lo Brown, member of the Nation of Domination to make some noise and take down the "World's Most Dangerous Man". Shamrock easily obliterated D-Lo in the opening moments with his usual array of moves, applying a cross armbreaker but D-Lo managed to gain momentum, Brown working right on the knee of Shamrock and keeping him down and grounded, yet still retaining a fast-paced schedule. Brown delivered a big dropkick to Shamrock from the top rope which got a loud ovation. Shamrock soon fired back, easily nailing a belly-to-back suplex and applying the Ankle Lock! Kama Mustafa hit the ring as Shamrock went nuts! **
[Q8] Ken Shamrock delivered a belly-to-back suplex on Kama Mustafa, yet again on D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry hit the ring! The "World's Most Dangerous Man" suplexed the massive "World's Strongest Man", then continued as he clotheslined officials and Faarooq tried to dive in with an axe handle! The Dominator connected, but Shamrock was still freaking out, buried by parading referees! The Rock watched on from ringside, the WWF Intercontinental Champion happy with his Nation. Faarooq looked annoyed with Rock.
A graphic appeared, promoting RAW is WAR next week, as we will see three title matches! Shawn Michaels will defend the WWF Championship against Owen Hart in a match with no interference allowed; TAKA Michinoku will defend the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship against Scorpio; And Jeff Jarrett defends the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship for the first time against Vader!
8) D-Generation X (w/Chyna) def. Cactus Jack & Owen Hart @ 7:38 - An unpredictable main event as Cactus Jack started off and he just went right into combat with Triple H, the WWF European Champion of course his old rival in D-Generation X, though Jack seemed to be targeting WWF Champion, Shawn Michaels as well. Cactus had hit the jackpot as he was title gold hungry and both of his opponents were in fact champions here in the World Wrestling Federation. Owen Hart had to get the blind tag from Cactus, and Owen started to take down the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, Michaels seemingly targeted for the Sharpshooter, just like we may be able to see next week on RAW is WAR as Owen challenges for HBK's WWF Championship yet again. HBK and HHH worked over Owen as Cactus seemed anxious to get the tag, but Owen fired back alone and applied the Sharpshooter on HBK! Cactus Jack got in and nailed the Double Arm DDT on Owen! Shawn covered for the three! **1/4
[OVR] Owen Hart was down as the crowd booed, Cactus Jack then scaring D-Generation X to ringside! Shawn Michaels seemed happy to get out of there as the WWF Champion left with aid from Triple H and Chyna, Mike Tyson walking with them. Back in the ring, DX watched from the rampway as Cactus Jack had a steel chair, and it bounced right off the skull of the "Black Hart"! The crowd booed as Cactus stood tall, the War Zone going off the air!

THE BRIT REPORT Presented by Mike Potter on Thursday 26th February 1998
-- RAW is WAR staged two episodes in the space of three days this past week, due to being pre-empted last week by the Westminster Dog Show being on Monday night, RAW Saturday Night took over and it was eventful. It explained many occurrences such as Mike Tyson's betrayal and joining of D-Generation X; the hinting of The Undertaker's return among other matters. It explained a lot storyline wise; of course a vital time with WrestleMania XIV coming up next pay-per-view. In addition, the return of Fatu was shown, and he seemed to have gained weight since the Sultan gimmick. However, he still seemed agile in the ring and seemed impressive. His opponent, Recon did not put on a good debut for Fatu though. Marc Mero finally split from Sable as Jacqueline (formerly known as Jacqueline Moore, former WCW World Television Champion) debuted as his new girlfriend on this show. Her skills could be wasted in the predominantly male promotion. We are intrigued with the Jackyl's seemingly religious cult leader gimmick, but it was a segment where Fatu needed to get over. Action in the ring again was limited, the best matches being TAKA Michinoku vs Scott Taylor (the light heavyweight division is a blessing) and Ken Shamrock vs Jeff Jarrett. Other than that, Owen Hart vs Triple H would have done better with a better ending, and the tag team main event involving a mini would have boosted the rating had another mini been in the match [whilst small and undrawable, the minis put on amazing stuff in the ring].
-- RAW on Monday was a better show, I can admit. It seemed more entertaining than the predecessors' episodes, with more interesting matches. Chainsaw Charlie showed in his older days could still put on a decent wrestling match with the unexperienced Rock. I was amused by Cactus Jack's sudden rise to the main event with his maniacal segment and attacks on Charlie and Owen Hart. However after being in the Ankle Lock by Ken Shamrock, Cactus did not sell the ankle later on in the main event. The minis were basically manhandled by the New Age Outlaws in a disappointing comedy act, whilst entertaining it just demoralises the credibility of the amazing minis in the ring. There was a time where they received best match of the night on a WWF pay-per-view. It featured the debut of Gangrel as the Truth Commission finally self-destructed. The Jackyl is a saint on the microphone, and Gangrel could go far with him as a mouthpiece. Again though, it did not get Fatu as over as expected, being he wasn't the main feature of the segment; Jackyl was. To their credit, Vader and Kane put on a nice big man match, Kane is still green and Vader growingly overweight, but it was a nice match. The match of the night however went to D-Generation X against Owen Hart and Cactus Jack in the main event.
-- Odds are that The Undertaker will have returned in the next three weeks. He has been off with nagging injuries, but also selling the rivalry with Kane, expecting a match between the two at WrestleMania XIV.
-- WWF has WrestleMania XIV on 03/29/98. The card currently features: - Shawn Michaels vs Stone Cold for the WWF Championship; Mike Tyson will be involved
-- It is rumoured that the World Wrestling Federation and Extreme Championship Wrestling have come to terms of a working agreement. In this, it appears as though another ECW invasion is expected.
-- Michinoku Pro's Kaientai DX is apparently headed to the WWF, consisting of Mens Teioh, Shoichi Funaki and Dick Togo the trio are expected to interact with the light heavyweight division as well as boost the tag team scene. Jacques and Pierre of the Quebecers have started working the live event circuit against the Godwinns, so we expect them to start appearing on television soon.
-- There was apparently a fight backstage this past week in Waco, Texas involving Sable and Luna Vachon. It'd be a travesty for either woman to leave now, as both are great additions to the WWF roster.
-- Ahmed Johnson was released from his contract last week as heard on WWF.com. The reason behind it was because Ahmed was negative in the locker room and his behaviour is what decreased his appearances on television. Scott Putski was quietly released as well. Both had done little this year so far on WWF television.
-- In results from RAW Saturday Night on 02/21/98: - D-Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa & Mark Henry def. 8-Ball, Chainz & Skull - Fatu def. Recon - TAKA Michinoku def. Scott Taylor to retain the WWF Light Heavyweight title - Triple H def. Owen Hart by DQ - Faarooq & The Rock def. Chainsaw Charlie & Cactus Jack - Kurrgan def. Barry Windham - Jeff Jarrett def. RAW is WAR, good decision to keep the Intercontinental Championship on The Rock, would have been awful any other way. Cactus Jack costing Charlie the match was for the best, and I loved the aftermath with Jack going crazy. Good promo from D-Generation X, I wonder who they'll face. Obvious victory for The New Age Outlaws, retaining their WWF Tag Team Championships. Ah, so I see it will be Owen Hart and Cactus Jack in the Main Event. Another good victory for Fatu. GANGREL! Yes, push, now. Kane over Vader was the right choice with Jim Cornette getting involved. Can't wait until The Undertaker returns to face Kane, it should be good. Good victory for this odd pairing of The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust and Kurrgan. Always happy to see TAKA Michinoku with the win, he's definitely a good talent to have. Loved the DQ finish and Shamrock going crazy. A good heel move for The Rock to just stand there, and I definitely hope we see The Rock versus Shamrock for the Intercontinental Championship soon, preferably at WrestleMania. Three title matches for next week, looking forward to that. Shocked to see D-Generation X go over here, but with Cactus Jack as a loose cannon, it worked, attacking Hart. Cactus standing tall to close the show I'm unsure of, as I don't know what direction you're taking him. But overall, it was a good show.

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 23rd February 1998
I know this took place on the last show, but since they talk about in the start of the show, I just don't think Austin would really take a pile driver from The Outlaws, I was watching a documentary on Austin the other day, and he was talking about after the Summerslam 97 incident, certain moves like piledrivers where off limits for him. Anyway, at least you noted his neck problems. Hot start to Raw with The Rock retaining the title, best decision, Funk with the IC would not be good it all right now. A little odd with The Nation coming out when Jack was talking about Funk, didn't understand that. I haven't really been following this all that much, so I'm a little confused why Shamrock put Cactus in the Ankle Lock, but Jack laughing while being in the ankle lock is pretty awesome, and something I could see him doing. Simple DX promo, Outlaws officially in DX already? Interesting. Oh my, Vintage Outlaws right here, but this beatings of the Minis has hurt the division, but it seems if you might be trying to kill it off or something like that. Simple win for Fatu, Heath debuting so early is interesting, but I brought Angle in May, so I think it's fine. Jacqueline and Mero already being an on-screen couple is interesting. I could see Sable getting a male partner for a tag match at Mania. Good win for Kane, I hope to see both men pushing in here. Jeff/Vader rematch at Mania? Not too bad, also, obvious Kane vs. Taker is obvious. Solid promo to open up the WAR ZONE, nothing to complain about. Interesting set up to the tag match, Kurrgan and Goldust being a team is interesting, no doubt. Cool pair there. Good simple win for TAKA there that help builds him and the Sable/Mero feud. Good booking there, kudos. Ken Shamrock was a beast in that segment, that would've been awesome to see back in the day, nice tension building with Rock/Faarooq. Rock/Shamrock seems like the most likely match for Mania, yet I see Faarooq getting involved one way or another. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, nice to see you're giving Vader/JJ some proper air time. Holy molly, what a match card next week! HBK/Hart, TAKA/Scorpio, and Vader/JJ? What an awesome card, man. I'm LOVING Cactus Jack here. Just ing up everybody in his path, it's just awesome. Good show DTP, you seem to have this period down better than I do, and I'll be taking some notes.

# | Dark Match | 1 | Adam Copeland def. Black Bart | 2 | Quebecer Pierre def. Mike Droese | 3 | Sean Morley def. Brakkus |
| WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 2nd March 1998 |

Cleveland, Ohio - Gund Arena

A replay from last week aired, as Triple H and Shawn Michaels teamed up to take on Cactus Jack and Owen Hart, Hart with the potential to become WWF Champion this week in a No Way Out of Texas rematch. Cactus suddenly snapped on Owen, leaving him unconscious and screaming for how he wanted title gold! The opening RAW video package aired as Jim Ross and Michael Cole introduced us to the program.
The theme of Owen Hart hit to kick off RAW tonight, the "Black Hart" coming out to the ring looking quite annoyed. Owen grabbed a microphone as he talked about how tonight is quite a busy tonight. He has the opportunity to definitely become the WWF Champion tonight, and he would be the one man of the World Wrestling Federation to finally take the title from Shawn Michaels' waist, but firstly he wants to organise things with Cactus Jack after last week! Owen talks about how the man behind the persona, Mick Foley has been a friend of the Hart Family's for years! He quit the WWF when his brother, Bret was screwed over last November, and then last week he has this violent new side to him, and he slammed a steel chair into his head why? Owen calls Cactus out to the ring for a confrontation as the theme of Dude Love hit instead! The crowd cheered as Dude Love came out, strutting all the way to the ring and Dude Love talked about how Owen had this whole situation all wrong! Owen comes here talking about how he is the "Black Hart", what about the colour! The crowd cheers as Dude tells Owen that he obviously wants some 'dudette love', but Owen doesn't take the bait! Owen tells Dude to reveal to him the real side of him. He says he's Mick Foley and he wants to know exactly what his problem is. At that moment Dude Love took down Cactus with a shot with brass knuckles! The crowd booed as Dude tore off his coloured shirt and removed his bandana to reveal himself as Cactus Jack, Jack standing over Owen and pounding on him! Cactus yells before leaving.
Stone Cold Steve Austin is shown arriving at the Gund Arena, the "Texas Rattlesnake" looking quite vicious tonight!
-- Commercial Break --
Kevin Kelly caught up with Cactus Jack during the commercial break as Kelly asked Cactus why he was attacking everybody he considered an ally, Cactus talking about how he feels like he has been screwed out of every WWF title opportunity handed to him! So many screwed up chances to get the WWF Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and these fans still love him. But it's not enough! He says he will continue destroying people until he gets a title shot, Cactus then punching Kelly out! The cameraman attended to the interviewer.
1) WWF Light Heavyweight Championship: TAKA Michinoku (c) vs Scorpio |

A back-and-forth, athletic opening contest tonight in the first of three championship matches to expect, the Japanese sensation, TAKA Michinoku taking on his only ally as of late, Scorpio. Michinoku has had a phenomenal WWF Light Heavyweight Championship reign, defending it almost weekly, and tonight it was Scorpio's opportunity. Scorpio spent the last month taking out unneeded opposition of TAKA's, but even in this match everybody knew other light heavyweights would be watching. Could have gone either way, Scorpio almost getting in many near falls, Michinoku with moonsaults, Scorpio with a 450 splash missed. Michinoku soon tried the Michinoku Driver from the top, but Scorpio turned it into a hurricanrana! Scorpio nailed the 450 Splash and we had a new champion!

Winner and NEW WWF Light Heavyweight Champion: Scorpio @ 7:20 [**3/4]

Scorpio celebrated as the crowd cheered, the official handing him the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. Scorpio then helped TAKA Michinoku to his feet, Michinoku shaking hands respectfully with Scorpio, seemingly talking about how he wants a rematch in the very near future! Jim Ross and Michael Cole promoted what else was coming up on Monday Night RAW this hour, as Faarooq meets Ken Shamrock; the Headbangers face the Godwinns; Fatu takes on the mysterious Gangrel, and we are expected to hear from Stone Cold Steve Austin! -- Commercial Break --2) The Godwinns vs The Headbangers |

A back and forth match as these two teams have met many times before, especially at In Your House: Badd Blood. The Headbangers and the Godwinns both seemed to be fighting with the intention of going after the WWF Tag Team Championships; everybody seeming to be after the New Age Outlaws lately. Phineous and Henry began to work over the much smaller Mosh as it worked effectively until Thrasher made the tag and the two Headbangers managed to work together. Suddenly the returning Quebecers appeared on the rampway talking about how the American stereotyped teams are mere inferior to them. They talk about how a real team needs to represent the tag team division, not Headbangers, not Godwinns and not the Outlaws. Mosh delivered a suicide dive to them but the Quebecers delivered a double suplex on the outside! The Slop Drop on Thrasher connected for the win.'

Winners: The Godwinns @ 4:42 [*3/4]

The Godwinns celebrated their win until Pierre and Jacques attacked them! The Quebecers nailed Henry in the gut with the slop bucket and delivered a move called the Quebecer Crash on Phineous, then slopping the Godwinns! The Headbangers were left broken as well as the Godwinns, these Quebecers standing tall! In the backstage area Mr McMahon was shown on the phone with Shawn Michaels, as McMahon told the "Heartbreak Kid" that he's late and he needs to be here, otherwise he's going to strip the WWF Championship from him! McMahon got into a verbal dispute with HBK as he tells HBK to get here or he'll be suspended! McMahon was angry, Mike Tyson behind him asking Vince why he was so stressed. Vince says it doesn't matter, he's a degenerate. "Iron" Mike looks confused as McMahon tells him to get out. Mike tells Vince to watch himself, because he could have found himself knocked out. -- Commercial Break --3) Gangrel (w/The Jackyl) vs Fatu |

Fatu was in his third wrestling match this week, proving himself quite well at 2-0 in the ring against the Truth Commission, but the Jackyl had found himself a new wrestler, the unique Gangrel; a vampire from Pennsylvania and Gangrel seemed like a dirty wrestler, going right for the ribs and playing it low against Fatu. Fatu soon fought back, delivered a big Samoan drop and it seemed to be setting up for the Fatu Driver when The Jackyl delivered a shoe-shot to the spine of Fatu! Gangrel nailed an implant DDT punned the Impaler DDT for the win.

Winner: Gangrel @ 4:35 [**]

Gangrel celebrated the win uniquely as The Jackyl was pleased, Jackyl handing Gangrel a champagne glass full of red liquid, supposedly 'blood', and the announcers were disgusted as Gangrel downed it. Jackyl talked about how he was building an empire of superstars that will show themselves as being unlike any other force. Superior than the Truth Commissioner, and will grow to be better than D-Generation X. Jackylites united, they will take down the World Wrestling Federation. In the backstage area the New Age Outlaws were shown on their way to the parking lot when they were interrupted by the Disciples of the Apocalypse. Skull and 8-Ball talk about how they've been given the opportunity to challenge for their WWF Tag Team Champions if they can defeat the New Age Outlaws tonight. Billy Gunn sarcastically comments which one is which as Jesse James says he doesn't even know. They go to meet their DX comrades. In the backstage area we see Ken Shamrock on his way to the ring, and the very self-destructive (as we saw last week) "World's Most Dangerous Man" faces old rival, Faarooq next! -- Commercial Break --4) Faarooq vs Ken Shamrock |

A back and forth main event to RAW tonight, as the "World's Most Dangerous Man" was once the main rival of the Nation of Domination, as Faarooq took Shamrock out for several weeks last October, including taking him out of the WWF Intercontinental Championship tournament with a Spinebuster giving Shamrock internal injuries. Shamrock was all over Faarooq, as Faarooq was out here alone tonight. Faarooq worked over the ribs of Shamrock as the former MMA fighter took Faarooq down with a hiptoss and prepared for the Ankle Lock when D-Lo Brown hit the ring and got belly-to-back suplexed! Faarooq took advantage from behind, the Dominator for the win!

Winner: Faarooq @ 5:05 [**]

Faarooq celebrated his win whilst the crowd were unsatisfied, Ken Shamrock slowly getting up and countering the assault from the Nation and taking down D-Lo Brown! Faarooq watched from ringside as Kama Mustafa ran to the ring, Shamrock clotheslining him as well! Shamrock took both men down and applied the Ankle Lock as Faarooq stood at ringside, not interesting in saving them! RAW goes off the air.

The opening video package to the War Zone aired, and Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler introduced us to the second hour of RAW is WAR tonight, accompanied by Jim Cornette who promoted the upcoming title match. 5) NWA North American Heavyweight Championship: Jeff Jarrett (c) vs Vader |

Vader was looking for revenge for all that Jeff Jarrett had put him through as of late, the charismatic "Double J" underestimating the anger of Vader, and of course that only made Vader angrier. The second of three championship matches tonight on RAW is WAR, Jim Cornette explained the overweight nature of Vader and why he did not in any way deserve the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship, not even through the tournament. Jarrett was dominated as Vader soon attempted to go after the ankle, it working and Jarrett seemed to try the Figure-Four Leglock to almost no avail. Jarrett soon continued, attempting the Stroke but Vader was too big, Vader throwing Jarrett over the top! Vader nailed the powerbomb on Jarrett for the win!

Winner and NEW NWA North American Heavyweight Champion: Vader @ 6:11 [*3/4

The crowd cheered as Vader went for the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship just for Jim Cornette to snatch the title from the referee! Cornette grabbed a microphone from ringside as he talked about how Vader had violated a major rule of the National Wrestling Alliance, including no throwing over the top rope! Vader looked angry as Jarrett slammed an acoustic guitar over Vader's head! Cornette called for the match to be restarted. 6) NWA North American Heavyweight Championship: Vader (c) vs Jeff Jarrett |

Jeff Jarrett removed the ruins of the acoustic guitar from Vader's head and covered for the sly victory!

Winner and NEW NWA North American Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett @ 0:14 [N/A]

Jeff Jarrett celebrated his win as "Double J" and Jim Cornette quickly left the arena with the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship intact! -- Commercial Break --Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler promote what's still to come on the War Zone, featuring the Disciples of the Apocalypse taking on the New Age Outlaws in non-title match; Comments from Sable about Marc Mero; Justin Hawk Bradshaw against Barry Windham; Still to hear from Stone Cold Steve Austin plus Shawn Michaels defends the WWF Championship against Owen Hart! An advertisement aired, promoting WrestleMania XIV and it will be live on pay-per-view on Sunday, March 29th 1998 from Boston, Massachusetts. Only four weeks away! 7) The Disciples of the Apocalypse (w/Chainz) vs The New Age Outlaws |

This was a hard-hitting contest as the Disciples of the Apocalypse was not about to let the New Age Outlaws take advantage of them again. Skull and 8-Ball easily took down Bad Ass Billy Gunn, refusing to let him get any offense in as the DOA seemed to be nearing the end when Road Dogg Jesse James illegally came into the match and went for the back of 8-Ball's leg. This almost got 8-Ball disqualified, and Billy Gunn got the tag to Road Dogg, the New Age Outlaws then going after the foot of 8-Ball. Skull soon got the tag as he ran with a lot on his mind but Mike Tyson came to ringside and he knocked Chainz out! The crowd booed as "Iron" Mike certainly had proved his point. This distracted Skull and the Pumphandle Drop by James got the win.

Winners: The New Age Outlaws @ 3:53 [*1/2]

The New Age Outlaws celebrated their win as the crowd booed, Billy Gunn and Jesse James satisfied and fighting down 8-Ball, the Disciples of the Apocalypse laid out at ringside. Mike Tyson took the ring as we went to commercial. -- Commercial Break --We returned to the War Zone as "Iron" Mike Tyson was talking about how he was buzzed to be involved with WrestleMania XIV, and how it will be X-Raided. D-Generation X is the party to lead the World Wrestling Federation heading into the event, and it would be the party to leave WrestleMania XIV still in tact and victorious. Mike Tyson talked about how it was revolutionary, a boxer and WWF Champion. And WWF European Champion. And WWF Tag Team Champions. Most of the gold in the WWF in their possession, as well as the highest paid talent on the roster in the same faction! Mike talked about how he's been in the middle of rumors about how he's going to face Stone Cold Steve Austin and how he wants to screw him out of the WWF Championship, and he wants Steve Austin to come out to meet these rumors! The glass shattered and the house erupted in the Gund Arena, Stone Cold coming out and meeting "Iron" Mike, the last time these two head to head was when Mike knocked Austin out and stabbed him in the back! Austin told Mike to be civilised, only way being that the Outlaws better get out of the ring or he'd personally kick their asses out. Austin mentions how he almost broke his neck again two weeks ago thanks to the New Age Outlaws, and how D-Generation X were seriously trying to make sure they had no competition, but Stone Cold is an indestructible war machine, and he will go through Billy Gunn, Jesse James, Triple H, Chyna, Shawn Michaels, even Mike Tyson! All to get the WWF Championship! The crowd erupted as Austin asked Mike if he wanted a match, but Tyson told him no, saying that the decision was final to be the enforcer for the WWF Championship match instead! Austin smirks, saying he would still love to get it on with him. Mike tried to throw a punch but Austin blocked it! Mr McMahon's voice was heard as he charged to the rampway, officials darting to the ring to break them up as McMahon told the two that Austin would be facing Kane next week inside of a steel cage! The crowd cheered as Austin was restrained by officials from Mike. The Undertaker's burning symbol was shown and it showed us in graphic form that the "Dead will rise again", then saying next week! -- Commercial Break --The "Big Red Machine" was shown in the backstage area with Paul Bearer as Bearer was going nuts about the potential return of The Undertaker next week, but Kane kept trying to make him relax. Paul said that he trusted him, just hoping that Kane destroyed Stone Cold Steve Austin once and for all next week on RAW. 8) Justin Hawk Bradshaw vs Barry Windham |

This was it for the New Blackjacks as Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw had split from Barry Windham several weeks ago, and Bradshaw had seemingly found a new bitter personality for everybody to see. Bradshaw called Windham out last Saturday on Shotgun Saturday Night, and so it had led to this point. Bradshaw and Windham both tried Lariats during the match but suddenly the theme of the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust hit, and Kurrgan led the way with Goldust. The two got in the ring and went right for Barry Windham, Justin Hawk Bradshaw getting involved as well, but Kurrgan delivered a double Chokeslam to both of the former New Blackjacks!

Winner: No Contest @ 3:32 [*1/2]

The crowd hissed as the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust stood with Kurrgan talking into the camera about how they were here to make an impact. But the real point is, what is the current relationship of the former New Blackjacks now!? An interview from earlier today was shown as Sable was seated with Jim Ross, J.R. thanking Sable for conducting this interview. J.R. asks Sable about the current situation Sable is in with Marc Mero, the man who claimed he was filing a divorce against her last week on RAW is WAR. Sable says it's been a distressing time, but the fact is that "Marvelous" Marc Mero was always the more naive person in the relationship. Sable is rich and he is a gravedigger! Sable says that she'll be happy to see Mero with almost nothing, but in fact she'll be happy to be single, because she will show the world everything on her body, the body Marc failed to satisfy! The "Black Hart" was shown on the way to the ring, he challenges for the WWF Championship next! -- Commercial Break --An advertisement for RAW is WAR next week aired, showing Stone Cold take on Kane in a steel cage match; Cactus Jack taking on old friend Chainsaw Charlie in a street fight; plus apparently The Rock will have presents for each member of the Nation of Domination! All on RAW is WAR next week from 8:57PM on USA Network! 9) WWF Championship: Shawn Michaels (c) vs Owen Hart |

This was an epic main event, just like their previous encounters, the "Black Hart" having fought the "Heartbreak Kid" countless times thus far into 1998, but tonight it was difference as the "Black Hart" knew he could defeat the "Heartbreak Kid". Owen outwrestled Shawn and HBK seemed to have almost lost his touch, and the World Wrestling Federation Championship during this match. Many near falls made by Owen, but Shawn kept getting up and fighting. The back, the well-documented back of Shawn as noted recently by dirtsheets was worked over by Owen, and Owen soon seemed motivated to apply the Sharpshooter, but Shawn managed to sneak out of it or reach the ropes at every attempt. The match went on as Shawn soon applied a figure-four leglock, working away at the knee of Owen and going for the Sweet Chin Music when Owen nailed him with the enziguri! Triple H and Chyna came out to the ring, but Stone Cold Steve Austin charged out, delivering a Stunner to Triple H and then throwing Chyna over the top rope! Shawn delivered a Sweet Chin Music to Austin, Owen locked Shawn in the Sharpshooter when suddenly Cactus Jack came from behind, delivered a barbwire baseball bat shot to the back of Owen's skull!

Winner: Owen Hart by disqualification, STILL WWF Champion: Shawn Michaels @ 9:23 [***]

Owen Hart was laid out by Cactus Jack as the crowd booed, Cactus laughing sinisterly about costing the "Black Hart" the WWF Championship! Cactus was mad, going after Shawn Michaels, but the "Heartbreak Kid" slid out of the ring, and then found himself in front of Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels running away from the "Texas Rattlesnake"! DX ran from Stone Cold as in the ring, officials tried to stop Cactus from cutting Owen Hart open even more with the barbwire baseball bat! Carnage as the War Zone went off the air!

- Good opening promo from Owen, just caught one little typo in there, however "Dude Love took down Cactus with a shot with brass knuckles!" Surely you meant Owen. - Haha. Cactus punching out Kevin Kelly - Good way to kick off the action with the Light Heavyweight Championship. That usualy gets the crowd pumped. A title win by Scorpio sounds great! - Hm, kind of weird to see The Quebecers return just like that. Well, not so much since they really did at this time, but they weren't really pushed from what I can remember. - Interesting little segment from Tyson. - Cool to see Gangrel's debut match, and to see him managed by The Jackyl as the beginning of perhaps a new stable. - Seems pretty accurate to have the Nation of Domination to get involved here. Hopefully the Shamrock/Nation feud gets going again. - Haha. What a cheap win for Jarrett. Strange that the ref let the over the top rope thing happen. If he knew the rules, that would've been an automatic disqualification, which would mean Jarrett woul retain. Also, I don't think he had started using "The Stroke" at this point here yet. - The tag team match was a little confusing. "Jesse James illegally came into the match and went for the back of 8-Ball's leg. This almost got 8-Ball disqualified," why? "Skull soon got the tag as he ran with a lot on his mind" Like what? - The Bradshaw/Windham math was also a bit weird. Why did Goldust and Kurrgan come in to interfere? - Oh my! What an interview from Sable. But in it, you called Mero a "gravedigger" the term is "gold digger". - Kind of obvious that Own wouln't win the title here, but it was a clever way to have HBK retain.

RAW is WAR, loved the opening segment with Owen Hart and Mick Foley. Dude Love was a nice touch, only to return to Cactus Jack to close the segment. I adore how you are using Cactus Jack. Extremely shocked to see Scorpio take the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship from TAKA Michinoku, and not sure if I like it or not, but if it sparks a small respect feud, then I'm all for it. At this time in the WWF, it probably wouldn't be abnormal to have TAKA win the belt back upon their rematch. The Goddwins were always meh to me, but I enjoyed the segment with the Quebecers. Very happy to see Gangrel go over Fatu, and this alignment with The Jackyl really helps him get over. Ken Shamrock going crazy and destroying The Nation of Domination is something I enjoy. Happy to see Vader take the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship... but no. Genius idea to bring in the classic NWA ruling, and loved Jeff Jarrett winning the title straight back. Glad to see The New Age Outlaws take the victory with the help of 'Iron' Mike Tyson. Good segment with Stone Cold Steve Austin and 'Iron' Mike. Austin versus Kane should be good, as should the return of The Undertaker. Loved the No Contest finish to this next match as I love the teaming of Goldust and Kurrgan. Pretty obvious to see Shawn Michaels retain the WWF Championship here, wasn't expecting Owen Hart to win. Cactus Jack's involvement made it that much sweeter, and I cannot wait for these two to get it on once and for all. Overall, I really enjoyed this edition of RAW.

RAW: - Entertaining opening sequence with Owen and Cactus Jack. I'm a massive fan of both men and thinking about it I can see a really good feud between them. Big fan of Cactus Jack being shown as unstable, I really think that's the best trait of the persona and I hope you run with it. - Scorpio taking the Light Heavyweight Championship is intriguing. It was a smart booking choice for the opening match, I always enjoyed it when the smaller quicker guys got to open things up, always set a nice pace. - Half decent tag match but neither of the teams involved really interest me. Nice to see the Quebecers getting involved, can see a feud with the Outlaws on the horizon. - Good debut for Gangrel, the guy's vampire shtick was always fun. I can see Edge, Christian and The Hardy's as possible additions to the Jackyl's new stable. - Faarooq going over is cool, he always seems to get a push in diaries set around this. I'm hoping this doesn't signal another feud between Shamrock and the Nation, it's already been done and there are plenty of other options available. - Great match between Jarrett and Vader. You did a solid job of keeping the belt on Jarrett yet booking Vader to look really strong. Cornette was in his prime during this time, hoping to see a lot more of him and Jarrett. - Good to see the Outlaws getting the win, great to see Iron Mike getting involved, just having him on screen gets DX over. Nice segment with Austin, I'd have actually preferred something different by having Austin face Tyson one on one. Just seems like a missed opportunity to have one of the biggest celeb moments at Mania. - Not impressed with Goldust and Kurrgen getting involved, really think it could have been done elsewhere. If you use this to get the Blackjacks back together, even for a little bit, then I'm not going to be impressed. - Good main event, I expected Cactus Jack to get involved but it was the right move to keep both guys looking strong. Good to see Stone Cold making an appearance, I'd really like to see an Austin/ Cactus Jack feud down the line. - Solid show man, keep it up.

I love the feud you're brewing between Owen and Foley. The fact that you're using Foley's alternate personas is cool and a great basis for the feud. I'm predicting a WrestleMania match, with Owen going over.
Not a fan of Scorpio taking the belt, especially just before WrestleMania. TAKA is the man you should be building the lightweight division around. He's younger, faster and more entertaining than Scorpio. I hope we see a WrestleMania rematch with TAKA regaining the belt.
Fairly basic tag team match between the Godwinns and the Headbangers. I think the Headbangers should have gone over here for sure. The Godwinns were relevant in 1996, and here they were even more fat and sluggish. Hate the Quebecers circa 1998, so I don't care too much for their involvement.
Not sure Gangrel should have faced Fatu, with their debuts so close together. Gangrel picking up the win completely destroys any momentum Fatu has, even after only 3 matches. The Jackyl/Gangrel pairing is very interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what develops there.
Faarooq/Shamrock is a great RAW main event. The finish was cool, just though 5 minutes was a little short for this caliber of match. Didn't like Shamrock taking out the Nation afterwards. It makes them look incredibly weak.
Well, Vader winning the title was a shocker indeed. 6 minutes is a tad long for someone to be in the ring with Vader, especially someone of Jarrett's size where the action would surely be limited. Plus, the way you've portrayed Vader it would seem unlikely for anyone to last that long in the ring with him. Loved loved loved loved the Cornette swerve. Nice booking there. Again, Jarrett picking up the belt with the guitar shot was a nice way to continue the feud. Overall, I liked this segment.
NAO over DOA is obvious. DOA have come right down after their alliance against the Nation.
For once I loved how you portrayed Austin. His promos need to be short and sweet, and he needs to raise hell. He needs to threaten to kick the crap out of people and own the ring. I didn't like the part where Tyson's punch was blocked. It undermines what he does best.. punching. Plus, you should have had Austin start to beat the crap out of him there and then. Vince breaking it up over the titantron seems unlikely. It would have been best for referees and security storm the ring and separate them, with an angry Vince trailing behind with a mic. That is more reminiscent of something that would occur in the Attitude Era.
Can't wait for The Undertaker's return. Definitely going to happen in the Steel Cage Match.
Bearer going nuts and Kane trying to make him relax? HATE that. Kane was an emotionless, mute monster. Why would he appear human by trying to calm Bearer down? If anything he'd allow him to go crazy while he stood there looking menacing. Far more effective.
Windham/Bradshaw, alright filler match. Does the job of getting Goldust and Kurrgan oer with the attack.
Owen picking up the DQ win is fine. Nice to see Austin get involved to reaffirm his feud with DX, also. Cactus coming out was fun. Again, loving the use of Foley's gimmicks. Mankind to return soon? The closing moments were brutal but effective, and will leave fans wanting more next week.
A decent episode, well done. Keep it up.

THE BRIT REPORT Presented by Mike Potter on Thursday 5th March 1998
-- RAW is WAR this past Monday featured another mix of entertainment and decent wrestling, but again it seemed as though the entertainment side of things on the show was much more focal. There were interesting developments made, as WrestleMania XIV closes in, but still only one match has been announced for the big show. The highlights of this show in the ring included Owen Hart and Shawn Michaels (their amazing series never seems to get old, if not for the interference seen in every match of theirs) and TAKA Michinoku against Scorpio. On this show we saw the in-ring debut of 'Gangrel', a USWA wrestler advanced to the main roster last week with The Jackyl; Gangrel is green but is agile for his build and shows a unique appearance. The Quebecers finally returned this week also, interrupting the Headbangers and Godwinns' bad match. They appeared overweight, more than in WCW's stint last year. It should be interesting to see how they handle in the ring. Scorpio won the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship, it seems as though they'll be running a friendly series between TAKA Michinoku and Scorpio over the belt this Spring. The Undertaker will return next week, probably during Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Kane in a steel cage: I can imagine a clustered ending to RAW next week.
-- John Tenta has been signed by the WWF; it is rumored that Tenta is being groomed for a main event push this time around, similar to his reign in 1990 feuding Hulk Hogan. Tenta didn't impress spectators to the Waco, Texas show two weeks ago.
-- The WWF has WrestleMania XIV on 03/29/98, the current line-up features: - Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin for the WWF Championship. Mike Tyson will be the ringside enforcer - Pete Rose & Gennifer Flowers will be in attendance
-- WWF RAW is WAR scored a 3.8 rating to WCW Monday Nitro's 4.8.
-- The Undertaker, Vader and TAKA Michinoku are apparently the only three names that may very well possibly appear at the All Japan supershow on 05/01/98. Giant Baba has however stated that it won't come as a surprise if no WWF superstars end up being used on the AJPW show.

boy, do I owe you? Here goes nothing...
RAW 2/21/98....I remember this crap used to happen all the time because of the Dog Show..I like how you included it. Wonder who Austin will choose as his partner, but I know it won't be serious. Tyson with DX this way seems a bit awkward. Nation losing at No Way Out, but winning here puzzles me. I guess it gets them back over. Fatu debut over Recon gets the job done. Fatu Driver is a nicely put finisher definitely...Jackyl going all crazy on Recon is interesting. Hart vowing revenge is vintage. TAKA over Taylor is predictable and I think Scorpio will be taking the belt off TAKA soon. Owen gaining some revenge for NWO is great and a solid way to end Raw. Still don't like how Rock/Faarooq function so well man. Windham gets thrown into Kurrgan and that's fine. I really want to know what the hell this Bradshaw/Windham encounters will turn into. Kane/Vader should be sweet. Jarrett over Shamrock gets him over majorly even if it wasn't too clean. Mero cheating is funny and a solid way to bring Jacqueline in. I knew it...MAX MINI! Spike Piledriver to both men...ouch to Max. But he gets the pinfall! Solid edition.
lol at Ahmed.
RAW 2/23/98... No surprise to see Rock over Charlie here, but I am unsure as to who the Rock is really feuding with here. He's got three feuds...Jack going crazy is classic and instantly promotes him to main event status. Very funny DX/minis segment...why should they be fined is right! Either way, the NAO over the minis is just hilarious. Another piledriver to a mini! OUCH! Vince being pissed at DX is different and maybe they can feud. Fatu over Sniper pretty much puts the end to the Truth Commission thank god. Wow, Gangrel with Jackyl is intense! I like it though. This Mero feud is priceless. Probably wasn't the best match, but I do like Vader/Kane here. Glad to see Kane go over as well. With help from Cornette? Didn't like this as much. TAKER COMING BACK! Wrestlemania is shaping up well after that. This Goldust/Kurrgan relationship is so strange. Headbangers should be treated better as you always tell me. No surprise TAKA over Mero. Just progresses his feud. Owen seems to always get interviewed. Shamrock over D'lo by DQ is two-fold. Shamrock looked really beastly here and FINALLY...FAAROOQ IS ANNOYED! Next week looks absolutely ridiculous. Jack just going crazy on Owen is awesome and builds DX up tremendously more. Solid edition.
I still owe you one more...I'll give that to you tonight.

Man, I'd love to see one more Earthquake run. If you rename him Golga and put him anywhere near Goldust or Kurrgan I will attack you like a ninja.

I’ll start with No Way Out. Since, I owe you for a few shows here. I hope to see a Taka/Scorpio match at Mania for the title, that could be loads of fun to see/read. I must say, all the backstage stuff id quite annoying. I guess that is why I always preferred WCW over WWF. They hardly ever had backstage segments, really. Ten man tag seemed like too many people were in it to be productive. Nice finish with Charlie winning following a moonsault, though. Very happy to see Jarrett walk out as the champion! Ugh, not a fan of Austin losing a pay per view match leading into his big showdown with Michaels. IF Austin wins the strap, I would have to assume Kane would be his first challenger. I just think the baby face needs to be insanely strong heading into a huge title match at Mania. Kind of surprised that the New Age Outlaws won the cage match. Part of me would’ve liked to see those teams in the ten man tag, and hold off the cage match finale for Mania. Maybe you just couldn’t stretch it out that long to remain interesting. Not surprised that Michaels won the main event. I hope that Owen remains in the main event scene and possible feuds with Austin over the WWF World Championship. Solid overall show.
Enjoyable start to the Saturday RAW with the promo by DX and the appearance of Austin. I’m hoping for serious big things from the Nation in this diary. That’s a group that could give Austin a fit, if he wins the strap. Decent lightweight bout between Taka and Taylor. Not a fan of you apparently going with a Owen/HHH match at Mania. Big win for Rock and Faarooq in my opinion. Decent for what it was, I guess. I have zero interest in Kurrgan. Standard promo by Kane and Bearer. I LOVE that Jarrett got a pin fall win over Shamrock. Fine decision to have Austin team with Mini. Since Austin doesn’t trust nor like anyone, it was really a genius idea to do that. Solid main event to a decent show.
I would have to imagine that Rock/Charlie would be a really bad match. Looks like we are going to see a Jack/Charlie match at Mania, something that Foley had planned according to his book. I like the sound of that. Awesome aftermath with Shamrock as well. Could we see a IC title program between Shamrock and Jack? Not surprised to see the Outlaws get a joke title defense. That is a HUGE main event, HHH/Michaels vs. Owen/Jack. Awesome. Looks like Vader is turning into a jobber :/ . How can Kane show a look of concern? The mask covers his face. Plus, Kane shouldn’t be showing fear in my opinion. Nice win for Taka over the bigger Mero. Interesting ending to the main event. I don’t see a Jack/Owen feud happening, though. Better overall show then the last one.
Okay, maybe there will be a Owen/Jack feud, and after the opening segment I am down for that. I was hoping for a Scorpio/Taka match to take place at Mania, with Scorpio going over. Oh well, a good match to start the show. Decent little match with Faarooq and Shamrock. The interference keeps Shamrock looking strong, I suppose. Oh god, not a fan of Vader winning the strap from Jarrett so soon. Figures as soon as I scroll down, Jarrett gets the strap back, thankfully! I honestly have no idea who will be challenging for the Outlaws tag belts, unless I am missing something. What a sick ending with Jack hitting Owen with a barbed wire baseball bat. I don’t think Owen would really take that spot, honestly. Still, its awesome. Very good show, Dan!
Really looking forward to see what the Mania card looks like, man!

Raw 3/2/98.... Patiently awaited these title matches..let's see how this pans out. Three dark matches? OH MAN. Cactus attacking Owen? I really hope you don't make them wrestle at 'Mania...would be a waste for both men. I KNEW IT! Scorpio finally dethrones TAKA and we have a new champ. Like the mutual respect and I'd love a re-match at WM. Throw in tag match and I expect some big gauntlet at the PPV. Really? Bring back Fatu to shut him down fast? Gangrel debuting with Jackyl is awesome though. Nice NAO/DOA segment. Faarooq gets help from his stablemates and then doesn't help them? Oh, here comes the turn! VADER YES! YES TWO NEW CHAMPS!!! Oh BS, damn over the tope rule...I wanted Vader to get the strap . NAO win again and seem to have no competition for WM yet. Damn, Austin/Kane next week and Tyson as the enforcer! Nice one...and Taker returns yes! Kane making someone relax? AWKWARD. This Blackjack thing is real confusing and to throw Goldust into things makes it complicated. Interesting Sable promo. Boo, Cactus costing Owen just makes me think they'll face each other now. Good Raw, just seemed a bit crammed.
