"Some people just like bitching about everything." Some people just like ripping on people for having a different opinion. Some people liked WrestleMania, and some people didn't like WrestleMania. Get over it. Close the board down. We can't discuss why we feel those who hated the show are wrong. And the people who didn't like it are automatically put in a catagory of "critic" or "IWC elitist"? Come on.

We all should have a nice Skype conversation so we can talk this out. I've been dying to do a wrestling podcast for the longest time.

What's the point of having a discussion then? If someone says something that we disagree with, we tell them why we feel differently. Why is that wrong? You don't have tell them they're wrong for thinking the way they do. Like I said, by all means think what you want and discuss your opinion, and the other person will do the same too. That doesn't make either of you wrong or void any of your opinions. After all, it is only that, an opinion, NOT fact.

Exactly. I completely agree with you. You didn't like WrestleMania and neither did I really. We've got every right to come here and voice our opinions on what we thought about the event. If some people don't like our opinions, that's just tough sh*t right there. Deal with it and move right along. It's not that you can't dislike it, but I see you personally in a LOT of party threads saying whatever show it was is terrible. Honest question, what do you like about WWE today? Not a whole heck of alot, really. I barely watch and after events like tonight, can you really blame me?? I like The Rock, but that's about it really...Can't take anything else seriously anymore.... I mean, come on here, tonight the I-C champ and the tag champs got squashed in the same match in about 3 minutes...Something like that would NEVER have happened 20 years ago, when wrestling was actually enjoyable. It's crap like that, that just pushes me further and further away. Stuff like that just doesn't make sense to me... How is The Corre supposed to be taken seriously now that they have been soundly defeated in about 3 minutes??...I'd take Doink the Clown more seriously than I would these friggin' guys at this point....

So new people at Mania makes it awful? I don't get that logic. I don't recall saying that in my post. Fact is, you can't expect guys like Miz and ADR to deliver on the grandest stage of them all. My point is, this year was simply a 'stepping stone' for much of the roster. The Miz vs. Cena will not have the same animosity between them as Rock/ Austin, and unfortunately it does mean that their match is lacking that Mania ME vibe. Heck, even Batista/Cena had a more prolific history. I'm not saying the newbies MAKE it bad, I'm saying that having almost every event featuring a 'Wrestlemania virgin' totally takes away from the spectacle that we've become accustomed to in years past. Hence, I definitely see where the 'Worst WM in recent history' camp are coming from. As for predictability, absolutely. Not just results, but where were the OMG moments? Most of the matches felt very routine, on autopilot IMO.

This was even worse than WM25 in my opinion, because at least that one had one great match, HBK vs. Taker. There were no GREAT 5-star matches at WM27 though. They all ranged from bad to pretty good, but not great.

I was very pissed to find out Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan got taken off the card. No need for that shit. I was surprised to see Edge/Del Rio go on first, but I think it worked. Solid match, but that stuff with the card at the end was kind of..... awkward. Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio was amazing. MOTN, iyam. It told a great story, and had some awesome action. I loved it. Kane and friends vs. Corre was a giant blur to me. Honestly, I turned to talk to people and by the time I looked back it was over. Randy Orton vs. CM Punk was another really solid match. That end sequence worked really well, and honestly...I'm fine with Orton winning. Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler was ing awful. No need for that match to go as long as it did. So boring. And that crapwith Booker and Mathews at the end was not needed. The Undetaker vs. Triple H was...ok. Some of the spots near the start were pretty cool (dat backdrop and spine buster through the table) but the finisher-kickout-finisher-kickout was...blah. Although I will admit the tombstone from Triple H scared me for a second there. Also, 'Taker selling like death for what seemed like 10 minutes was also so not needed. I was actually surprised by the three on three match. Trish and McCool had some great action, and Snooki surprised everyone with that Chyna-like handspring elbow. Fine match. And before I get to the main event.....that video package for The Miz was INCREDIBLE. Using that Nas song was perfect for him. The whole concept and execution was....awesome. Might be one of my new favorite WWE video packages of all time. Then Cena had the stupid-ass choir. I'm sick of Cena's shitty entrances at 'Mania. His video package was...odd. DMX talking about God a whole bunch during a Cena package didn't fit to me, at all. Since when has Cena every been religious. Then, Cena comes out with Confederate flags everywhere. The match was good. Waaaay too short, but good. Also the double-count out swerve was kind of unnecessary. Just a way to get The Rock out there, I guess... Ending was good. As for the comedy segments in-between all that, they were fine. Zack Ryder was amazing. The Rock/Austin stare-down was epic. Pee Wee was cool. Overall, a decent show. Pretty disappointing, but not terrible by any means (*cough*WM25*cough*). Also, go back to smaller arenas for WrestleMania, WWE. I can't wait for Wrestlemania XXX in New York.

This was not the worst Mania at all. WrestleMania 9 gets that title. No way in hell this Mania was even close to that. Of course though I think they are wrong, they think I'm wrong. If you don't believe their opinion is wrong why bother countering what they say?

Critic I can see because if they are shitting on it and calling it the worst ever, are they not a critic? But we are all apart of the IWC so that doesn't fly.

I watched the ppv at my friend's house. It was just not a great show. The Rock's promo to open the show as just not something I really cared for and I'm a big fan of his. It dragged on and it took 24 minutes for the first match to start! Speaking of the first match... WTF were they thinking having the WHT match first? So stupid imo.. The match itself was nothing special. At one time I thought ADR was on his way to winning but he lost out of nowhere. He really should have kicked out and the match should have been given more time. Good for Edge to finally defend a world title at Mania but again the RR winner LOSES at WM.... Also the beat down on ADR's nice car was just not needed. That time could have been donated to the match. I think the POINTLESS 8 man tag match was next. OMG was this a DUD! So stupid that they let this sh*t take up time when they literally had a 2.5 minute match.. All 8 people should be mad at what they got. I don't know if it was in between these matches but somewhere they had a pointless Snoop Dogg segment with him interviewing people. POOR Beth Phoenix had to sing with Khali. Very depressing to see that when only a few months ago most people predicted her winning the Diva's title off of Natalya. Instead the belt was not even defended... Cody Rhodes v Rey Mysterio was pretty good. One of the better matches of the night but still nothing spectacular. So happy Cody won the match. Hope they continue to push him. I think Rock had a promo with Eve around this time. It was nice they let her appear on WM [should have defended her belt but whatever..]. Her segment with Rock and then Mae was kinda funny. Divasauros! ;D Orton v Punk was one of the better matches imo. I thought at this moment it was the best match of the night. It was not given too much time . Orton's RKO in the air was predictable and nothing special but I expect this feud to continue.
The 2011 HOF class announcement was cool. Sunny looked nice as did HBK. LMAO at the crowd booing Drew Carey!
The Lawler/Cole match was SOOO ing boring! My God this was such a waste of time! They gave it more time than the WHT match and most of the other matches on the card. So shameful wwe.... The match was just a disaster. I mean Cole didn't know what he was doing. The ending was okay I guess but at least Cole lost.... NOPE his stupid ass actually got a win [by DQ]! Yeah Michael Cole actually won a WM match.
HHH v Taker was not a match I was really looking forward too. I just am not big fans of them both atm. Their match did however interest me probably the most of the night and was given a lot of time [29 minutes] although even it was not spectacular. Some of the spots to me were good and a couple times I really thought HHH was going to end the streak! I was about to have a breakdown and I'm no Taker fan or HHH hater.. I mean Taker kicking out of 3 pedigrees was too much imo. He then survived a ton of chair shots and then a Tombstone! I just didn't think he had it in him. I was happy he retained the streak by trapping HHH in the Hell's Gate submission. The aftermath was pretty stupid though. It was taking up way too much time getting him out.
The Dolph/LayCool v JoMo/Trish/Snooki match was pretty short. 6 minutes if I counted right. Everyone looked good in their WM attire [well not so much for Snooki] but I just wish it wasn't so black. Get some color people this is WRESTLEMANIA!.. I was happy that McCool and Trish basically did it all. Why McCool pushed Layla was just random. She didn't deserve that. I don't even think Layla was tagged in! Trish and McCool did work well together but I was just hoping for more. The guys did practically nothing. Ziggler just broke up a pin and got a Starship Pain from the top rope outside of the ring. This then allowed Snooki to tag in and hit a cartwheel splash on McCool in the corner of the ring followed by some cartwheel splash on a downed McCool ftw! Yeah so McCool haters can shut the up now. She officially lost at WM to Snooki.
The main event was just a big boring FAIL. So sad. Miz's belt really looks like sh*t. I mean damn it is a replica. I have that crap on my wall! If he is going to be champ for a while then tweak a REAL wwe title and just make it have the 'M' instead of the 'W.' Is it that hard to do that? Nonetheless the match was just boring. Really boring actually. Don't even get me started on Cena's entrance! WTF was that? Why was it needed and how does it relate to Cena? Yeah totally not needed. Cena's new red shirts are decent but seemed like he scraped his purple design pretty fast. Like I said earlier the match was just boring. At one time I though oh crap Cena won this fast? It was really short in the end. The first ending was a double count out which was just BS. It was like 13 or so minutes up to that point. Then The Rock came out and restarted the match. Less than a minute later and one Rock Bottom to Cena Miz retained his wwe title! I liked how he retained but I wish he would have done it w/o interference. Rock could have Rock Bottomed Cena afterward.
So this WM is over now and I was just impressed. It only cost me $20 at my friend's house but still I just wanted more good matches to happen. I was so pissed they took off Sheamus v Bryan for the US title. They could have taken out a LOT of stuff instead and had that match on the card. It would have likely been one of the better matches of the night so it was sad that it was demoted to the dvd.
If I was to rate WM 27 I would give it it something close to: 58/100...

Average WM to me. The Rock took way too much time at the beginning and Cena took way too much to make his entrance. That alone would have gave them an extra 15 mins for a U.S. title or extended main event time. Loved the WHC, Rey/Rhodes, and Taker/HHH matches but that was it. my favorite parts of Wreslemania in the last few years have been HBK's Show-stopping matches and The Money In The Bank and this WM had neither.

It seemed like HHH hurt his wrist. I was think his elbow or maybe both. The way he used it could have slammed his funny bone and/or wrist and just been hurting

Though I'll most likely get barked at... I enjoyed the show. Sure it wasn't the best Mania ever but I found enough about it to enjoy the show. Shame about Bryan & Sheamus. I was looking forward to it. I did really enjoy the Punk/Orton & Rey/Rhodes.
And I especially enjoyed Triple H/Taker. I thought personally that match alone was worth the price. I really thought the streak was over when Triple H hit the Tombstone. And in that brief moment, I felt joy for thinking my favorite of all time did it. But I also felt grief thinking Taker's streak was over. Classic WWE moment in my book.
