I wish a follow-up question about the RI line would have been asked. After he said it's on hold would have been the perfect time to ask why. Were the sales bad? Do you just not want to have a Walgreens exclusive? Jakks claim they read the boards, but it's impossible to read anything here without seeing the demand for RI is still out there. He plain as day told you why, they're wanting to put more time on the main line [CTL/DI]. Personally, it's for the best.

Jakks you are really dropping the Ball on making figures. IF YOU ARE READING THIS. LIKE YOU SAY YOU DO. Then read how many of us love the RA or RI figures!!! AND THE LEGENDS FIGURES! That is what we want! This guy is just another puppet like JP was.

So.. you have the contracts of three of the most popular and or most storied companies in wrestling history, and all you can say to answer every question is "maybe"?
On top of that, a large majority of us have a TON of wrestlers in RA/RI style, and want to continue those collections. You could have sold us a TON of figures in RI style, from TNA, from NJPW, and from NWA. Even make a site where you sell exclusives, or give Ringside and the other accounts a chance to "host" the NWA line, or NJPW line, or whatever. Still, you have a chance to make a Legends/Classic Superstars line that would put Mattels TO SHAME (with a built in consumer base, as I'll go into in a minute). Mattel even indicated that the Legends line wasn't selling as well as they'd hoped.
Besides that, you guys canned the LOTR series after a set that only featured one "must have" figure... with two obvious shelfwarmers, one attire that no one wanted that particular figure in, and one "I might pick that up sometime, but I've already got a bunch of that guy" figure. To my point, I bet you can figure out which figure goes to which description!! I would think that to really "see if the Legends will sell", you'd have to release a series featuring people like Raven, Shane Douglas, Jim Cornette.. people we HAVEN'T got yet. Don't kid yourselves.. only Sting and Hogan belonged in that first line, and you sabotaged it (maybe by accident, maybe not) from the start by padding it with the two shelfwarmers (one of whom had been a shelfwarmer in the end of his WWE run), featuring that absolute WRONG attire of a wrestler we'd been clamoring for (out of a good five-ten choices), and pulling another figure that we'd all been waiting for with baited breath completely OUT of the line (AFTER some people had pre-ordered it).
As far as starting over.. I just can't do that. Because of the way the contracts are.. whether it's with Mattel, or just going back and buying all the DA figures to match with the DI figures... it just can't happen. There's no way I can buy the TNA line, and match them with the same size and scale figures of people like Godfather, Brian Pillman, the Midnight Express, Bob Orton.... there simply ARE no DA figures of these people. But there are RAs. I have over 500 characters in RA style, and at least 400 of them are Jakks-released, non-customs. There simply isn't that character depth in any other line. So why shoot that whole segment in the foot? You'd sell me Storm, Roode, Sabin, Shelley, Jarrett, Joe, Styles, Shark Boy, Morgan, Neal, Magnus, Williams, Kaz, Terry... and that's not to count if you release an awesome repaint of Hardy, Foley, Steiner, Anderson, or any of the other guys I might already have.... I bought Velvet and will buy Daffney, Angelina, and Madison, because they are somewhat to scale with the RA Divas.
I just can't understand how SO MANY people could beg a company "here, take my money" and the company says "well, no.. we only want money from these people, not from you people. Maybe you should join that other group so we can take your money too". I can't wrap my head around that..
Jakks, you wonder why we distrust you? You wonder why we say you don't care about the fans? Because you provide us with irrefutable proof of that, time and time again! You're like a deer in the headlights, the only difference being that you've got people from every end screaming "look out, there's a car coming!", and all you do is just keep staring at the shiny light.
You have every available opportunity. You have a diehard fanbase (even now, after you screwed a lot of us over, although it was even stronger right before Mattel's launch) that takes every possible chance to say "this is what we want from you". You have contracts with, really, three of only maybe five companies outside of WWE that even matter to pro wrestling. You have a proven track record, a history. You've been given EVERY single chance, and every single piece of the puzzle you need.. yet you still seem bent on running this line into the ground. Why?
So, you can tell us about Dixie Carter and Brock Lesnar legends fig (which will be out in 2013 at this rate).. but instead, how about this. We want RI and DI lines, this has been proven. We want more Legends figures, not less. I can't buy product from you if you don't release it. No more delays. Don't lie to us, if the figures won't be ready until 2012.. then make the release date 2012.
This isn't rocket science, it should be business 101. But then, I'm talking to a brick wall anyway, right?
Prove me wrong, Jakks. I dare you, I challenge you, I lay the gauntlet down to show me that you are doing or are planning to do just ONE thing that proves you care about the most vocal collectors and supporters of your product.
Prove me wrong.. or just keep staring in the headlights....

Noone ever asks them about the snow boot fiasco... it bothers me. its a small detail that shouldnt be over looked. and it keeps me from buying figures. lol I am in the same boat. It wasn't even mentioned and i can think many figures that i haven't purchased or am going to purchase just because of the snow boots instead of the kickpads. ie: Jay Lethal, All AJ Styles after series 1, Kaz, MCMG, and Hernandez

What I don't understand, and this goes for Mattel too, that they are both saying they want to get into the roster as much as possible, yet both companies put out 4 figures of the same guy in 1 year? Makes no sense to me.

Well, at least Andy made it clear that the 6-sided ring micro playset won't be made after all. I just hope Jakks isn't as quick to dismiss the rest of the Micro Impact line or else I'm pretty much done with them. I'll most likely pick up Tara but that seems to be it for 2011/2012. I understand that DI/CTL are their flagship lines but if they cut everything else out and still can't produce their only set of figures in a timely fashion, that's ridiculous.
In the 2nd half of 2010, they got up to Series 3 so we should at least get 6 full series for 2011 and yet, I won't get my pre-ordered Series 5 Angelina Love until May? That's ok, I'll have full sets of Legends, Elites, and Defining Moments, along with a couple of Basics from three different series, coming in from Mattel during that time.
It's just no contest; If Jakks doesn't get their product out there, there's nothing to buy from them.
