Virgil at Royal Rumble 1991 was enjoyable if not predictable. Undertaker at SNME (Feb 92). Austin/Bret double turn at WM13 was executed perfectly. Batista slow burner face turn was brilliance.

ya see Babyface turns are usually slow burners arent they-to build the anticipation of this character going face whereas heels are usually done quickly to suprise folks.
shocking face turns.......that I didnt see coming
Demolition at Suivors 88(of course they had to do this-POP were being booed andDem cheered for months beforehand similar to Austin) Andre at WM6 Rock at Backlash 99 Lesnar after HIAC with Taker HBK after WM11 Diesel in late 94
hmm cant really think of any more.......

Hand down Mr. Perfect. Most guys Ive seen as good guys or bad guys but Perfect was always a bad guy to me and then BOOM, he's teaming with Macho Man, slapping around Heenan and ready to kill Flair.
And I saw it mentioned above. Taker didnt turn face at Tuesday in Texas, he was still a Heel at the Royal Rumble and heading into The Main Event where he teamed with Flair

This is probably what I would say too... I despised Mr. Perfect and then I loved him... His turn was done in a fantastic way...

I thought Roddy Piper's babyface turn in 1986 was relatively out of the blue. He was always one of the very top heels in the promotion, although similar to Steve Austin years later, Piper oozed so much charisma and was so entertaining that there were always people that cheered him no matter what.
But the way they turned him -- by having Adrian Adonis basically attack him and steal the Piper's Pit gimmick -- it sort of came out of nowhere. And they handled it well in the months afterward, too. They made it perfectly clear that Piper hated Adonis and those he was associated with (Jimmy Hart, Bob Orton, Don Muraco) but they also did a nice job with Piper easing into the babyface role along side guys he used to hate -- namely Hogan.
They didn't just book him and Hogan to suddenly be pals... they teased ongoing distrust between the two and did it in a realistic way.

It all stemmed from Diesel getting over in 94 Rumble, the crowd were chanting for him big time. Bigger surprise was Big D winning the belt the night after in 8 secs.

He was heel then Savage made him his partner and he was face. I'm thinking Maxx Pain's turn was a surprise, but I really can't remember anything except when he and Badd shook hands. so there may have been a build before that.

You guys are getting Baby face confused with Face, Baby-face is a full-fledged face like Cena, face is like a tweener but almost never acts heel. Like Kane in 2007

Like Kane in 2007 Face is just short for babyface buddy. Perhaps you are getting confused with Uber-face, which is what Cena is. And Hogan was in 1980's WWF.

Anyways, if I can bring an NWA/WCW perspective to this thread: - Nikita Koloff turning face to honour his arch-nemesis Magnum T.A. - Ric Flair just being a face whenever the company called for it...weird - Arn Anderson (see Ric Flair) - Bookah T's single's career after being a ruthless tag team rulebreaker - The Hollywood Blondes getting over as faces -

How about the time when Dvon dudley randomly dropped the "Brother Dvon" gimmick and reunited the dudley boys in 2002?

Never thought of that one. it was at a time where Russians were still bad guys in wrestling and were for many more years.

Like Kane in 2007 Made me LOL Babyface/Face = Good Guy Heel = Bad Guy Betweener/Tweener = Has traits of face and heel *(see above) On topic, Savage at WrestleMania VII is a big one. Mr. Perfect's in late-92 was odd for me. It was too "cut and dry." Add to that I've never like Hennig as a face as he was just a natural heel in my books.
