(I know, so many posts by me, sorry) President Obama apparently spoke with President Mubarak and told him to not run in the next election. The New York Times says that Obama has officially withdrawn US support of Mubarak. It's about freaking time.

It's all well and good that he supposedly won't run again but that isn't good enough. He needs to leave the country immediately.

They want him out NOW they don't want to wait until a new leader is selected in September. But who knows he could just stop all elections and not even bother running because he will just rule until he dies.

Apparently the army has given Mubarak 72 hours to leave or be forced out.

The man is so dense.
He wants to arrest the outlaws. He is the leader of the outlaws.
He did say he would not run again.
He also said he wants the Egyptian legislature to amend the constitution to set term limits for Presidents. LMAO.

A couple hundred people who support Mubarak have gone to the streets and have started attacking those who are against him.
They rode in on horses and camels and had whips and stones and attacked the anti-Mubarak protesters.
A group of pro-Mubarak protesters actually surrounded Anderson Cooper and his crew and attacked them. Anderson was punched 10 times in his head.
Elsewhere, the President of Yemen says he will not run for another term.

One of my dreams is to one day ride in on a camel and save the day.

Molotov cocktails are being thrown at anti-Mubarak protesters and at the museum.
The pro-Mubarak forces are using daggers and acid to burn and batons.
Gun fire has been reported.
From a reporter on the ground: People in Tahrir square begging Obama to intervene. They are terrified a bloodbath is about to occur.
A former member of Mubarak's coalition "I can attest with certainty that there exists a presidential plan to put down the demonstrations at any cost, through his security forces (police) and the national party members."

CNN reporter on the ground tweeted "Government-sanctioned mass lynch underway in Tahrir Square"
No more info available right now on that, but I just wonder if he means actual lynching or a metaphorical lynching.

The museum is now on fire, thousands and thousands of years of records and artifacts may be lost.
Pro-Mubarak goons keep throwing Molotov cocktails at and into the museum.
A high ranking government official who was dismissed by Mubarak a few days ago says that he has no doubt whatsoever that Mubarak plans to just let Egypt burn to the ground.

I'm hearing the only thing on fire in the museum is a tree and possibly some brush in the garden. I'm also hearing that the military is standing by and doing nothing and refusing to intervene one way or the other.

The new VP said no talks will be held about the protesters demands until they stop protesting.
I heard the actual building was on fire.
Also, pro-Mubarak forces are dropping bombs from the tops of buildings into the streets.

That was just disheartening.
Mubarak & Co "We love peace, we love that people are able to demonstrate thanks to our constitution. We didn't seek power and we are non-violent."
*Kills and bombs citizens*
What a lovely group "we've" supported.

Why the can't Obama apply more diplomatic pressure here. I'm not saying they need to send the US Marines into Cairo, but they can apply a bit more diplomatic pressure.

The museum itself is not on fire presently, but the garden outside is or was. The building next door to the museum is engulfed in flames and the fear is that it will collapse on the museum. Supposedly the fire was started by Molotov cocktails thrown by Mubarak supporters. The army is apparently trying to protect the museum, but won't get involved with the protesters or the supporters. This is really, really getting bad out there.

My sister booked a holiday in Egypt like a week before the riots... She's going to Shamal Shake which they're saying is about 8 hours from all the protests. Still a bit worried though.
