When arguing something, give a credible source. So it's ok if people are oppressed as long as that oppression benefits the US? The Muslim Brotherhood started chanting Allah Akbar. As soon as they did, other Muslims and Christians started chanting "Muslim. Christian. We are all Egyptian." They don't want religion or anything else brought into this. They are poor, they are starving and they are being oppressed. That spans all religions. They are fighting for their lives. They may want to rule Egypt, but it doesn't seem the people want them to rule. I wouldn't buy into their unity being anything long term.

World Net Daily says that Israel fears that radicals will take over Egypt. I totally agree. Israel will be in big trouble if Mubarak falls. www.wnd.com/

Rep. Thaddeus McCotter had some great comments. Love this guy.
“Thus, America must stand with her ally Egypt to preserve an imperfect government capable of reform; and prevent a tyrannical government capable of harm.
“For if Egypt is radicalized, all of the reforms sought by the Egyptian people and supported by the United States with them - including consensual and constitutional government; free elections; open and unbridled media; and Egyptian control of their natural resources - will be lost. Nascent democratic movements in the region will be co-opted and radicalized. The world's free and open access to the Suez Canal's vital commercial shipping lanes will be choked. And the Sinai Accord between Egypt and Israel - which must be protected as the foundation and principal example for Mideast peace - will be shredded.

He cares about two things and two things only. Being able to have access to the Suez and Israel. Free elections? I guess them being able to vote but the outcome already predetermined is better than no voting at all. If they have a true constitution, they should be able to replace their leaders whenever they want. Open and unbridled media? I guess this counts www.foxnews.com/world/2010/10/13/egypt-takes-new-steps-control-media-vote/We can stand by Egypt but we don't have to stand next to their leaders. We stand next to the Egyptian people not those intent on oppressing them.

Seems to me like these people don't know what the they're talking about. The current Egyptian government, and any other 'reformed' government under Mubarak will only further oppress the Egyptian people.

"Al Jazeera Magazine reports that sources at the Egyptian Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel are preparing to welcome Hosni Mubarak into exile."
Protesters have ripped heads off of mummies.
Over 700 prisoners have escaped.

Well this is certainly interesting.
"They are saying some of the interior ministry is responsible for some of the looting and crime to make the protesters look bad. To justify the need for Mubarak and his regime. Get out of here. They are contrasting the crime to the fact the people protesting have been peacefully protesting. No wonder they turned off the internet and cell phone service so images couldn't get out of the dirty dealings."

That's a shame about the museum. I went there and they had a ton of stuff. Stuff you would think they would be proud off and would want to protect. The mummies were in extraordinary condition. Most of the King Tut stuff is in there as well.

Egypt has officially shut down Al-Jazeera. Here are two pictures taken from the same time, first from Al-Jazeera and then from Egyptian state run TV. Also, military jets are circling around Cairo and getting lower and lower each time they fly around.

It always makes me cry a little inside when people loot a museum. What's the point?

It always makes me cry a little inside when people loot a museum. What's the point? But it isn't the people of Egypt doing it, it is the leader's goons.

"Thugs looting residential neighborhoods and intimidating civilians are government-hires, say eyewitnesses. In Nasr City, an Eastern Cairo neighborhood, residents attempting to restore security told Al-Masry Al-Youm that looters were caught yesterday. “They were sent by the government. The government got them out of prison and told them to rob us,” says Nameer Nashaat, a resident working alongside other youths to preserve order in the district. “When we caught them, they said that the Ministry of Interior has sent them.” In Masr al-Qadeema, another district, scrap metal dealer Khaled Barouma, confirmed the same account. “The government let loose convicts. They let them out of prisons. We all know them in this neighborhood,” he said, adding that the neighborhood’s youth is trying to put the place in order by patrolling its streets with batons." www.almasryalyoum.com/en/news/eyewitnesses-say-state-sponsoring-vandalism

Slappy calls my fact finding poop and thinks I am trying to get a rise out of people when I am just presenting what is really going on by the only reliable news sources Newsmax and World Net Daily. Fox News, Msnbc, Cnn report the real poop.
