Did the wrestlers featured in the European release of the Galoob Series ever wear what the toys were painted with, and if so, are there reference pics on the 'net?
Flair - maroon trunks with a lightning bolt (never seen it)
Anderson - all red trunks (in his early career yes)
Pillman - baby blue trunks with tiger knee pads (I think I've seen him in this before)
Luger - green trunks with yellow stripes down the side (ala Von Erich style, never seen it)
Windham - blue trunks with black stripes down the side (see Luger above)
Vicious - Orange leotard (I remember him wearing red ones circa 1990)
Sting - Orange tights/blue scorpion (I think I've seen him in this circa 1991-1992)
Simmons - white stripes down his pants (probably he did wear this at some point in his career)
Freebirds - black tights with colourful designs (that was their gear during their last WCW run)
Rhodes - exactly how I remembered him
Josh - exactly how I remembered him too
El Gigante - exactly how I remembered him three!

hehe I know what the toys are like, I guess I wasn't clear enough:
Did the wrestlers actually wear these designs in real life?
I never saw Flair in trunks with a lightning bolt or Luger in green tights with yellow stripes, or Windham with blue trunks that had black stripes down the side.
If they did wear that, are there reference pics?
I know Galoob based many of their outfits on what they actually wore. There's a picture of Tom Zenk (minus knee pads) that looks exactly like his Galoob figure (probably was a Galoob figure photoshoot for the toy sculptors).
US Flair - power blue tights from Great American Bash '90 US Anderson - pretty much all his career US Windham - also from Great American Bash '90 (he was at ringside in the main event with no knee pads) US Luger - wore this alot in his career US Vicious - wore this alot in his career etc.

never seen the ones you metnioned either. Flair with lightening bolt is the least likely I would think especially during that era. Lugar is possible, perhaps pre horsemen days, sid is likely, Windham, perhaps pre horsemen days as well..matter of fact most of those variants may have been when the wrestlers first started out before NWQ/WCW got big...if someone could find this out I'd think the value mayb be increased

I actually own that Sting in orange tights.
Was that only released in the UK, or US too?

ok to bring this thread back on track. I guess the UK/Spain releases for most of the figures were the creativity of the sculptor/artist because I never seen those wrestlers (in real life) wear those colours/designs

Sting wore almost that attire for Halloween Havoc 1990 but his face paint should've been pink and maybe the scorpion should've been black. Jimmy Garvin also looked like that at the same event but Hayes had sparkly dungarees. The ones I thought were weird at the time were Luger in green trunks and Flair with lightning bolt.

The only ones I can think of off hand that are accurate are Dustin Rhodes, El Gigante, the figure in the robe (I think it's either Lugar or Sting), the Freebirds, and maybe Arn Anderson. I don't think the rest are accurate. I can almost guarantee you that Ric Flair has never worn tights with a big ass lightning bolt on them.
