everyone(quite rightfully) talks about Hogan at Bash 96 or Austin at WM17 or Invasion but what are some other shockers that we hear eff all about?
I have 2....and they lifted me out of it at the time.
Summerslam 96 when Bearer turns on Undertaker.Holy crap man I was stunned.
Wrestlemania 15 when HHH turned on X-pac and DX.Chynas double swerve helped this of course but I have to say I did NOT see this coming at all.I would be a total liar iof I said Id even thought about HHH going heel in March 99.
discuss!!

bret hart turning on the american fans is an easy pick, and also when triple h turned on dx. that pedigree to billy gun on the outside of the ring looked painful.

I'd have to say HBK's turn in Summer 2005.

Seriously......did anyone see the Coach turn coming? true that. i remember being utterly disappointed with that, too, and disliking the coach's entire heel tenure.

I always felt coach would go heel because he always got herbed out. I think the big shock was paul bearer turning on taker or when stone cold went heel and joined with vince at wrestlemania i believe 17

Maybe it was because I was 9 years old at the time, but I thought Tatanka's heel turn on Lex Luger at SummerSlam was a surprise

Yup Bulldog and Tatankas turns were good aswell......keep them coming I would mention Demolition in summer 1990 but I dont remember them doing anything to turn heel.they were still faces watching the Harts and Rockers battle it out for the No1 contenders spot but then they were suddenly heels a short while after

Yeah Demolition were waaay over as faces, but with LOD coming in a heel turn was inevitable, but I was 12 and still surprised that they just woke up one day added Crush and said. "Hey we're heels now". Lol. I always thought Takers late 98 turn ,reunion with Paul Bearer, and satanic persona was shocking as hell. He was a top face for so long. Didn't think he would ever be accepted as a heel again. Went on to be the most hated guy for awhile. DDPs turn right after winning his first World title surprised me. The "Working Mans Champion" works his ass off to attain the top spot, only to go heel? Very strange move, but it worked. Rick Martels turn in 89 was a surprise in the sense that no one saw him becoming The Model. And it working so well. And I too ,thought Jake Roberts 91 turn was a surprise. If only the Warrior/Roberts angle would have translated into at least a match huh.

I also should give Roberts turn some cred.that shocked the hell outta me as an 11 year old.

A long time ago and of a lot less importance than many, but how about Tugboat turning on the Bushwhackers and becoming Typhoon?

I remember him coming out as Typhoon for the first time on Prime Time. It was a pretty big deal at the time since he had been a Hogan sidekick then had a mini-feud with Hulk after the turn.

Rocky Maivia in 97 was pretty big considering how amazing the transformation was from that bland character to bring the Rock
And in terms of a shocking (in terms of the way it was executed) had to Eddie in 05 he simply beat Rey Rey's ass, that suplex on those steps were brutal then he had that wicked heel promo after.

Seriously......did anyone see the Coach turn coming? Yes but not in the way he did. They made it kind of clear that he was pissed about having JR comeback and take his spot. Didn't expect it to lead to him helping Shane against Eric. Maybe a feud with King though.....
