Help for if you are using Proboards to host a fed.

Hey guys, just thought I'd drop some advice on improving the formatting of your show if you're a beginner and using proboards. Proboards isn't that great a site in it's default settings, but can be if you fiddle around a bit. You can help yourself out easily enough. The best thing to do is have a next button at the button, either in text or a picture, at the end of each page. Just use the [url=][/url] and link to the next segment like that. Example:[url=http://wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=figfedpics]NEXT[/url] would come out as NEXT, and allow you to switch to the next part a bit better. Or if you want an image, do the same thing with the picture instead of text[url=http://wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=figfedpics][img]http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/spamorumslogo2.gif[/img][/url] and that would come out like this:



As well, work on the site's layout a bit before using it, and make it look a little less forum like. Example being this sample one I made up using one of N1SF's matches:

shiftyshows.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=shows&action=display&thread=1

It may look a bit like Proboards still, but it's definitely different from this board we are posting on now. All I did was go into the admin settings, then onto skins / forum colours, then created a skin, set everything to black (even text), and then set it as the default skin for my site. You can still navigate your site, just highlight the page and find the links. As for making text show up on commentary, all you need to use is this: [colour=white][/colour] Which will change all the text in a post to being coloured white. You can change the colour of the text if you so please, but white is the best choice. Don't forget, you can also change the font using this [font=][/font] which will make your text look different, depending on what you put after the =, the font I chose was tahoma: The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.

In a nutshell, you should have a look at what's available to you to help you out, and make your fed stand out even if you are using a pretty standard hosting site. If you want some help with any of this, feel free to pm me by clicking the tick underneath my account info over there.

PS: Feel free to lock or delete this if you don't think it's a help. Just did it as I know a lot of rookie fedders use proboards, and it can get them some flak.
