Using Ted Dibiase and IRS.
IRS says that he decided to do a little digging around and found out that Dibiase had been cheating the government out of millions in taxes, so he reports Dibiase and they could have skits for a few weeks and they decide to fine Dibiase for all he's worth, they could show the government repossessing Dibiase's homes and furniture and eventually the Million Dollar Title. Then Dibiase has a new gimmick of this broke man.
I just thought it would have been a pretty cool idea.

Its creative but that would be like Vince McMahon hiring the Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff and having him beat and retain over Hulk Hogan. It would just kill everything they built for years.

The biggest problem is where does Ted go after that? I mean he could run around as a broke man for maybe a year and the crowd would love it, but after that all dies down you just ruined a great character and left Ted out to rot.

-- It would've ruined Money Inc.
If anything, creative should've pushed Money Inc. into being a more "a$$holic" team on poor folks than they merely did.

Well, you could take pity on Dibiase, but IRS would be the face because he took down the corrupt Dibiase.

Which is why it wouldn't have been the smartest move to break up a formitable team like Ted and Mike (or "Irwin" )

Well, the main reason is probably Ted's back injury. Considering he got hurt in 1993, right at the height of Money Inc., the team just kinda split that way, with Ted becoming a commentator. Had he not gotten hurt, I think this would have been a genius ending to their tag team.

Isn't it a very simular idea WCW did with DDP? He went from wealthy to poor as well.
