I was thinking at work (not very busy today) And i have a question.
Could WWE or any other company make a character like it again? He has never really got stale IMO, and had some great feuds but Character wise could they recreate another to go for so long?
Personally i dont think so, but if anytime is the time, it would be during the PG era.
What are your opinions?

I always thought this, and really the answer is no. There isn't much of a way around without it being a ripoff.
I mean they tired with mordecai and look how that flopped.
Sure there will be many dark characters, but the undertaker was a once in a lifetime superstar. The only way they could do the gimmick is if his son got into the business and they could do a whole son of The Undertaker thing, kind of like they did with Ted Diabase where it's the not same gimmick but a continuation of it.

The Undertaker's current gimmick has been stale IMO since he went back to it in 2004. I know many people hated the ABA gimmick but it was far more realistic and what Callaway is actually like in real life. His promos were more effective than the deadman versions too. ABA>Deadman

Yeah its like trying to recreate Mick Foley....people would just look at the person as a ripoff.

they could have a darker gimmick, even a dead guy, but they could never replicate the undertaker.

it would be hard to replicate because the guy would be derided for being a ripoff beofre he even stepped in the ring.
I doubt they will go there to be honest

There's only one Dead Man.

A newer deadman, no. WWE can make another long lasting Superstar they just need to find someone reliable enough to fill a spot like that. Cena & Orton will last a long while, but the need to work the next long lasting stars. Sheamus could be a 20 year Superstar barring injury & behavior problems. Taker prob didn't plan on being a 20 Superstar, i guess it's something you just grow into.

ABA>Deadman Never have I loved undertaker's promos more than when he was the ABA. I wish he would return to that gimmick as i feel there is more left to him. To answer the topic, no. I don't think it is possible to re-invent the undertaker gimmick without ripping it off to a degree.

There's always gonna be the "dark" kind of gimmick, just not the performance or execution of Taker
