hey all DO you think mattel should do a Championship Belt Pak? I was just going thought my wrestling collection jakks and some mattel stuff and thinking I really dont want to buy a bunch of figures I already have just to get the mattel belts when they do come out. From what we have seen the Mattel belts will be 100% better than the jakks ones we all have
So i was thinking why not make a belt set and sell it on matty collector? I know it would sell well or sell out and matty collector site sucks in general but I would be willing to login on and fight for a new belt set!
what do you all think?

In a word, YES.
Even just if it's a MattyCollector exclusive.

It wouldn't make business sense for Mattel to do that. They stand to make more money doing it the way they are. People will buy figures they don't fully want just to get a belt. Having the belts help change a figure from a "it's nice but I don't really think I want it" to a "well it's a nice figure and it has a belt so I'll get it"

They could always do a boxed set exclusive like Jakks had done in the past with the BCA line, either one for each brand, or one set with WWE, WH, Tags and IC or WWE, WH, IC, US & Divas titles.
I started thinking about when I was a kid how Mattel would do weapon sets for the He-Man line and making a release along those lines would be really cool. I can't see them doing it, but the thought of walking into TRU or Walmart and seeing a carded pack of just belts would be really really cool.

I think it would be the best idea. Don't think it will happen anytime soon though. The IC belt that comes with perfect is amazing

I would, but chances are they won't do it and I am gonna be done with WWE/Mattel as soon as MH gets released.
Secondly I'm shocked that a power tripping Mod hasn't come by and decided this should be moved to the suggestion box yet. It seems to be one of those things some Mods live for, though this one isn't exactly a suggestion this one should have been a poll imo.

Well until Mattel releases enough belts to do a set I think this is wishful thinking. There are only a few WWE style belts I want so getting a figure that has it included is fine with me.

Matty is doing there 2nd weapons pak for Master of the universe line so this maybe more of a reality. However if this exclusive belt set did happen it would happen after all the belts had already come out with figures just like the masters weapons.
on another note I wonder if the reason why belts are lacking is due the the "unification" that "will" take place at WM? I mean it would make sense to wait on the new belt designs before making them. IF wwe gets new belts for there champions which i kinda think it has too

i was thinking this the other day. by the time Mattel gets around to releasing belts i'll already have most of the roster so i don't want to buy the same guys just to get belts to go with them.

eh, it seems like a good idea...but doesnt make sense for Mattel's business.
I had a thought the other night about what if Mattel released single belts in small bag style packages. Think of "silly bandz" style.
They could sell them for like $3.99 each and people would gobble them up. However, then I realized the shrink at retail stores for those would be ridiculous.
I'll just take nicely painted belts with my Elite figures please....kthxbi

They should... they won't.
They'll wait and release one per series or all with repaints to make the consumer buy them. Can't fault Mattel, it's just smart business.

why the hell not! as i see it, it would be mega nice to get belts instead of buying a figure just for the belt.

I just want an updated IC belt that isn't massive, I don't care how I have to get it. Other than that, I am happy just waiting for the older belts coming out on Legends figures.
It makes zero sense for Mattel to sell packs, and I don't expect that to happen. I don't really know what there excuse is for taking so long to get belts out at this point but the unification idea seems pretty reasonable.

Its alittle disappointing that Jakks is already making belts for their TNA line, I know that they don't have to make too much new stuff they are just using the old molds and designs from the WWE line but Jakks is getting the drop on Mattel by putting out a current TNA belt. I even saw an AJ figure with an X Division belt on toynewsi.com. So its sad that Mattel belt packs are being talked about considering they finally put out their first real championship belt and its a classic belt not current.
