I cannot find a date or channel for the 86 Slammys. I have read that it was televised and I see a couple clips on youtube. I was such a hardcore wwe and nwa fan back in 1986 that I cannot believe I missed this. I did go out to the skating rink every friday and saturday night that year in the 5th grade and the 87 SLAMMYS were on a friday or saturday night.

I cannot find a date or channel for the 86 Slammys. I have read that it was televised and I see a couple clips on youtube. While I didn't see the 1986 Slammys when they first aired, I always thought they were on MTV. Martha Quinn (MTV V-J) was on the show. I also vaguely recall a story from an old WWF Magazine about the 1986 Slammys mentioning it was on MTV, but I can't verify that (I'm not home to check the issue). The 1987 Slammys were syndicated, I believe, so they were on different channels depending on where you lived. In my city, they aired at like 11 p.m. on a Saturday night, on our local Fox affiliate. I remember that vividly, not just because of the Slammys but because it was the first time I had ever watched the Fox network, and I tuned in early enough to see Married With Children for the first time. |
