I guess you can't have The "Heart or is it Hart " Foundation w/o Bret. ***The sketch date for Neidhart was 12-18-90, Bret's is 12-20-90. I have Hawk's date as 12-13-90 and Animal's as 12-17-90. The Harts were definitely going to be a two pack.***

Sorry about the clarity of the scans on the slides. Two more pics that were used for the packaged figures.

Last one for today. It's funny that I missed this, but Savage 3 was originally planned to have a bandana on his head.

I wonder if it would've been removable like Macho King's crown. I take it fromt he sketch that Savage #3 wasn't to have tights as the mini-figure had.

Last one for today. It's funny that I missed this, but Savage 3 was originally planned to have a bandana on his head. notice in the middle it says "change headscan to have the bandanna, as shown here" with an arrow pointing to it. (I zoomed the image in to read it it's under where the image has the word "Head" blocked around, first asterisk) Looks like he woulda had tights, a new left arm mold (notice open hand) and a new macho man headscan! Dig it!

I have a few other action slides of the Beverly Brothers, but this was the nicest one to scan. I doubt that they would have the capes though. That could have been used for the backing card

Amazing how great the bandana would have made that Savage figure. I have always wondered if there was ever any plans to give him tights like the mini figure. Also Hasbromanic I know its a lot to ask but will you ever show us your entire collection

I would have preferred a Tugboat to Typhoon I reckon...
Never seen the Bret or Savage sketches - amazing!
Still think one of the Beverley Bros would have had the Jake mould.
Thanks for sharing!

Has anyone ever tried to find out who the concept artist is, and see if he still does this? I would like to see his vision of some of the current guys. Who was it?

I was looking at that pic again and was wondering if this was the concept sketch for Randy Savage #2 rather than #3. This sketch shows him with the big glasses that he wore rather than the smaller ones when he was "The King". This would mean a small mod' would have to be made for him to hold the sceptre in his left hand and a completely new head mould. It wouldn't take mutch to change a Macho Man #1 head and stick it on a repainted Macho #2 body. I may need to check and see when he changed from trunks to tights.

damn the beverley brothers would've been a cool tag team set.
Ok no one would have bought them at the time as they were a bit dull but i'd welcome them now.

I was also wondering this aswell, I'm sure he was in long trunks by January of 1990 as I remember him being in the Royal Rumble in long tights. Is there a date on this one? BTW thanks a bunch for posting these!

He didn't change from trunks till after he was the Macho King. Begs the question why Hasbro had him in trunks on both the 2nd and 3rd figures as he wore tights.

because the mold was already made for him wearing trunks. unlike most wrestling figure lines, the Hasbro mold had very defined lines on their trunks mold. so he'd have trunks, then painted legs, then knee pads. It'd look very awkward repainted with tights

I don't know if it would look that odd or not...Macho Man #1 had trunks and knee pads and was repainted for HBK in long tights.
