Just curious for all the guys who watched the original ECW back in the day, I've been interested in ordering some of their older PPVs and thinking of ordering them on DVD. I've heard Heatwave 98 from reviews is considered their best.

I think you heard right on that one, I love Heatwave 98 and will still occasionally hook up the VCR to watch it

I liked December To Dismember 2006. I loved Heat Wave '98 as well as Barely Legal. My personal favorite was November to Remember 1997.

Yeah, Heatwave 1998 is basically the best PPV ECW ever did, but most of 98-99 were good PPV-wise. The thing with most classic ECW is that whether the match was good or not at least it was entertaining and energetic enough not to hate it. Unless you were a real -up with the ECW crowd, then it was just terrible.

so hard to look past Heatwave 98..........but Barely Legal was awesome too yes, i have always been a fan of inaugural events. the first wrestlemania, first starrcade etc. where as the performances got better and more exposure by 98-99 i still hold a place for barely legal. also, i'm a fan of the funker and it's one of my favorite events of all time not just ecw so i'm partial.

Living Dangerously 2000 was good. I agree. It's a sentimental favorite, because I was there, and could see myself in the opening crowd pan. But, it was a great show to experience live.

i got today ECW Anarcy Rulz 2000 DVD and it was good but not near as best ECW event.
its hard pick best ECW event but Barely legal 97 and Heatwave 98 are top ppvs from ECW.
i was little dissapointed with ECW last PPV Guilty as Charged 2001 whole PPV was focusing making Rhino over but ECW that point did not knew its going to be last show what they held.

For me personally, Hardcore Heaven 2000 always sticks out as a favourite, despite the main event. The first match will always be one of my favourite curtain jerkers, plus the whole event worked so well with a great Milwaukee crowd.
Heatwave '98 has been mentioned already, and like Creed, I will occasionally watch it on the VCR, along with Anarchy Rulz '99 and Guilty As Charged '99.

All of the stuff mentioned is great, but I would put forth one more.
It wasn't a PPV, but it was one of the few commercial releases from ECW here in the United States.
Wrestlepalooza 1997 is a PHENOMINAL show. Dreamer/Raven one last time before Raven left, the shocking invasion of Lawler, the path of rage of Taz coupled with a tremendous semi-shoot promo.
All around awesome show.
