I was a fan of his during his first run in wcw. When he joined the wwf and was Sid Justice i was still a fan.
I still have one of his t-shirts that i bought when i went to wcw Sin.

savage and flair definitely shouldve been the main event that year, workrate wise... but between hogan being involved, and warrior's return, i suppose it did make sense to use that as the main event. though papa shangos inclusion always confused the out of me. plus, even despite that, they botched the poop out of the finish... even as an 8-10 year old (whatever i was at that time), i was confused by the whole half 2 count, harvey whippleman running in and getting thrown at sid thing... just a terrible way to end wrestlemania. that said, i loved sid when i was younger, probably my favorite in the game at the time when being a 5 star ring general was fairly irrelevant. i remember the royal rumble one year, the year flair won, i had a party and everybody picked hogan... and i kept saying "nope its gonna be sid". and then sid eliminated hogan AND I WENT BALLISTIC. then flair came up from behind and threw sid out, with help from hogan. sometimes it refreshes my love for wrestling, to think back to those days when i was fairly gullible. and i regret not being gullible anymore, honestly. anyway, drunk and rambling... i loved sid during his late 80s, early 90s run in wcw, and his early 90s run in wwf. seriously though... and i was a sid fan... hes at least 6th in booking a monster... taker, nash, vader, big show, kane... in whatever order you want... gotta rank over him. im not sure how much it says to rank him over el gigante/giant gonzalez and great khali. (all of that said, is not counting andre, obviously... and i include kane, because glen jacobs after a couple years under the mask, could actually work a match fairly well). I still think Hart vs Piper should have been the main event. That was the one match the crowd was into and they both put on a great match. One of my all time fav matches.

Although Hart/Piper was arguably match of the night, Bret wasn't over enough to main event WM8 at the time & Piper hadn't headline a PPV since WM1. It was always going to be Hogan/Sid in the ME, since he was leaving.
Sid's finest hour was Survivor Series 1996, and was crazy over with the MSG fans, just watch it. Suddenly I'm Dominant, oh yeah!

I hate when people consider Sid to be terrible because of a couple screwed up promo's or because he did not defy logic by having a high flying moveset and did not use 38 variations of the armbar.
Sid was a monster and was larger than life. He held the Top title for Wrestling's 2 Top promotions on multiple occasions and headlined Wrestlemania's and Starrcades. Sid was what he says he was and that is "The Master & Ruler of the World".

I always liked Sid. IMO he needed to have a manager for his mouth piece. He needed to have been a wrecking machine. I thought the team of Vader & Sid was good, but they had potential to be absolutely a domiinating team.

Well yes Hart and Piper werent at the level to be Main Eventers yet but I think everyone knew going into Mania that it was going to be "that match". But the main event wasnt always going to be Hogan/Sid, remember is was suppose to be Hogan/Flair but that failed miserably.

I liked Sid but I never loved Sid. His WWF run was great, but his time as a Horseman kinda sucked.
But I don't know if I've ever seen a guy who just looked more like a wrestler than him. Dude was a freak of nature.

Sid had it in his contract to fight Hogan at Mania plus Hogan and Flair couldnt come to an agreement on the finish so they just scraped it.

I really liked Sid he was great. Really good heal and looked really imposing. Wish he stayed in the WWF longer.
Liked his old WCW figure aswell (the ones that you could not move).
Would love a Legends figure!
Ohhhh There were so many great characters back in the day!

He was the ruler of the world!
There was just something about him that really made you like him. I didn't realize how horrible of a wrestler he was until I got older, but by that time he was still injured

I saw him live on a UK tour vs. The Undertaker - he was huge as I was at ringside.

I didn't realize how horrible of a wrestler he was until I got older, but by that time he was still injured I remember an arena report from late '96 (I think it was from MSG) where the crowd began chanting for Sid (who just won the belt from HBK) during a Michaels-Goldust match. Shawn left the ring, got a house mic and said, "If I have to carry that stiff through one more match, I'm going to knock his teeth down his throat for real!" I'm sure Vince wasn't happy, but that made me LOL! Ironically, in a shoot from 2000, Shawn expressed admiration for Sid and said that they worked well together. Who knows?
