author=ultimogringo Well this seller needs to do more than just apoligize to the dozen or so people he has ripped off and lied to recently. This idiot has been making false promises left and right and needs to be removed from ebay completely. If this jerk has personal issues tell the buyers the problem instead of lying.I am continuing with my claim and the only gratitude I get from this hole is a negative feedback for being a fast payer.

Not saying you should close out your claim, by all means do what is neccessary to get what you paid for. I'm just updating my situation. I really do feel bad that this has happened, for the people here & the seller screwing up his reputation. I really thought he was doing good.

The seller's feedback rating is dropping like a lead balloon. I think it's funny that no one has even gotten a response until they file claims. Then all of a sudden, the stuff gets sent. Someone also pointed out the fact that everyeone who buys from him has to pay for insurance, then the guy doesn't insure the item. It never dawned on me until it was pointed out. Just another way he's been ripping off people from the start, I guess.

Not to defend the guy, but alot of people on Ebay self-insure their items. Meaning, if you were to say the item was broke or whatever, they would have you send the item back and they'd chalk it up as a loss and refund your money. Most sellers who pack their items well would end up making money off of this because theoretically there would not be many insurance claims.
It's perfectly legal too. Nowhere is there a law that says you can't self-insure merchandise.

NO, what hulk is saying is that the seller charges you for insurance & then doesn't use it on the package. There should be a blue & white insurance sticker placed on the package from the post office.

I get what he was saying. If someone self-insures something, they may charge $0.50-$1 or more to insure the item themselves (not through the post office). They don't need an insurance sticker if they do this.

I just got a e-mail from paypal saying that item was shipped with tracking number but I'm highly steptical as that number could be nothing, just a tactic from the seller to see if I drop the claim. What pisses me off more than anything is this fool left me a negative after I left one, even though item was paid for immediately.

I just got my stuff. Spoke with the seller the other day & he's having a string of bad luck.
My order was complete & hopefully I'll be able to post some pics in the next few days.

i recently escalated my dispute to a claim however i noticed that it says paypal will refund you up to $200 minus a $25 dollar processing fee. being that i paid $25.88, does that mean that i will only get back 88 cents when he inevitably never sends my auction. also, i have yet to leave him neg on ebay because i know he'll just leave on back. is there any way to prevent that.

I'm pretty forgiving, but a string of bad luck is one thing, lying and avoiding buyers is another. Each and every one of us who contacted him got the same runaround about the items being sent already, him being in Mexico, and a promise to "check on it" which never happened. None of us got anything sent until we escalated it to a paypal claim (delivery confirmation numbers show that the items were sent AFTER the claims were made). If we wouldn't have gone to those lengths I am sure none of us would've gotten anything. He was having bad luck, whatever. He needed money and he figures he'd stiff a few people on ebay to get it. To top it off, when I (and others I see) finally DID get what we paid for, it was sent in the cheapest way possible and not insured after we were told insurance was mandatory and we had to pay for it. So he pocketed a little extra cash off the shipping, too).
I'm not trusting the guy again.

Had the same thing with my package, no insurance, but my package did have the delivery confirmation on it. Anyone else know a reliable seller from mexico?

yeah, that's the way ebay works... you have to wait until the time limit for leaving feedback is about to expire & then leave the negative. That way they can't leave any back.

yesterday i won my paypal claim. the seller never even responded to paypal. i receieved a whopping 88 cents. payapl said that they will attempt to recover the rest of the funds but that currently the seller didnt have enough in his account. this tells me he is on the verge of up and abandoning the account completely. how is the refund issued? do i get a check? the money was not put back on my card which is what i expected to happen. i'm very dissatisfied with this whole situation.
