I haven't seen much discussion about this killer looking Undertaker figure. Does anyone know what series it's from? I think it's probably the best old school Taker ever released! I am, however, not crazy about the fabric clothing. They make the figures too bulky and dollish (that Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase figure looks especially awful). I wish they'd go back to molded plastic and stop producing the figures as if they're Barbies.

Jakks CSTT4 Taker scan is a lot better.

Well, better to get fabric clothing with a figure than a steel chair or a baking tray.

which would you rather have, entrance attires AND wrestling gear, or a figure that couldn't wrestle because he was permanently in entrance gear?
To ask for plastic entrance gear is just whacky

I think the fabric clothing looks awesome and realistic on Ted DiBiase but it looks okay on Undertaker, still it could be worse. And The Undertaker is from Entrance Greats Series 3.

Agreed on the fabric. They could even keep the cloth boot covers and tie so long as they just give him a molded plastic shirt.....
However, that could just be a cloth shirt connected to the jacket by a velcro tab so that you can take the tie off like when he wrestles. Hopefully not though, since I'd like the jacket to just be it's own piece.-Also, it's nit-picky, but I hope they change the jacket from a leather like material to just a cotton jacket like the Rude/Orndorf robes. It's more accurate to the one Taker worn for that era.
This is Mattel so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a molded sleevless shirt under that cloth one for in ring action.

I imagine he has a shirt molded in plastic underneath

I think that Undertaker might well be the worst WWE figure Mattel has produced yet. Big material jackets just look stupid on figures of this size, because the material is too thick to be in scale with the figure.
I love the Elite 1 Undertaker and Edge jackets, they look great. They're moulded to the right scale, they look like the right size for the figures. This one looks awful. The jacket looks ten sizes too big for the figure. The elite 2 Fatt Hardy coat wasn't too bad either, because they made it out of a really thin material, and they should do the same with this Undertaker. Shiny pleather coat doesn't look right for 1990 'Taker anyway.
And the hat fits strangely on the head. And the head isn't very good.
However, despite all of this, I will still almost certainly buy this figure. I love Entrance Greats and am gonna be a completist for that line, I think.

People complain about plastic accessories. People complain about fabric accessories. People complain about not getting accessories.

everyone keeps saying the head is bad... does anyone here remember what he looked like when he debuted... that head scan is dead on... i agree they should have gone with a material similar to hardy's jacket... i like the cloth materials.... and for those of you who are saying the gloves are to dark, you have to remember early on for a brief period undertakers gloves were almost a charcole gray before going to the lighter color gray... i would rather have had the lighter color gloves myself... Matel keeps surprising me... i just wish we could get the shelves restocked...

I get what they're going for, I can see the intention and the feel they're capturing (and I like it -- that scary, big eye-bulging dead stare he did while he was walking to the ring), but it just doesn't look right.

I for one think that scan is SPOT ON, and mattel did a great job with it. The clothes do look a little baggy... but its better than no gear at all!

I had to look again, but I actually agree a little bit with pc38uk. At least, regarding the scan. I much prefer cloth accessories. But the scan is slightly off. Not enough to make me dislike the figure, but I do think it could be better. However, my bigger concern is the OP saying Million Dollar Man looks awful. Could not possibly disagree more.

I think this is just an early proto and by the time the figure shows up in stores the outfit should have a more snug fit. I seem to remember early pics of Piper and DiBiase having the same issues. And now they look amazing.

I wouldn't mind owning that figure. The scan's something different from the ones we're used to from Jakks. Maybe it just needs time for it to grow on us or something. Just a thought, and I may be wrong, but didn't Taker wear cloth coat instead of leathery-looking ones during that time?

Elite 1's jackets looked great but you couldn't pose the figures with them on and they were a pain in the ass to take on and off so i'm more for the cloth.

A) the tie looks attached to the shirt....considering the other EG figures that have a cloth shirt (Piper,Jericho,M$M,Rock) it's removable,i'm going to assume this one is as well, and we'll get a painted on shirt underneath...it was probably easier to just attach the tie to a removable shirt than to work out the configurations for a removable tie....
B) these are pics from a show...one thing we've seen, time and again, from the Mattel line is pictures we've seen on the net - even professional, official Mattel pics - usually don' do the figures justice, and the look much better in person...i bet that likeness will look 100% better in natural lighting, not with a flash on it,or with a spotlight overhead....
C) same with the coat....these are just thrown out there...i bet once you get it and play around with it a bit,the coat can be made to look fine....
