I am still very interested in classic wrestling though and still watch quite a few matches a week on DVD/Youtube/Dailymotion.
the current stuff IMO is dreadful.

I think the main reason I love the stuff from the late 80's/early 90's is because of the nostalgia and memories I have of it from when I was a child... I just love to relive it all.... Lately I've been watching a lot of Rick Rude matches from his WCW days... , that man was awesome... WWF not giving him the belt is a shame

Never have and I never will , been watching since 96 and do not plan on stopping anytime soon.
I feel like older fans are ether to picky, to judgemental, or just have crazy high expectations.

I stop watching wrestling in 2005 after summerslam because my family was moving and we did not get cable in the new house right away i got back into wrestling one week before summerslam 2007 but i was not as into it as i once was after my senior football season i got back into it heavy and started watching every chance i could but as of now i find myself watching more wrestling vhs tapes.

Recently actually. I use to make sure to watch every show but lately could care less if i missed them or not. The show I truly caught without DVR was the RVD/Styles title match on TV where RVD won his first TNA title. I love wrestling to death, but the current product for some reason is steering me away....

for me it was the invasion angle that really spoiled my interest in watching wrestling (the new programs, not the classics though!)
in my opinion it was ruined by the ego of the mcmahon family and should have been the angle to end all angles.
triple h's politicking didn't help either, although in fairness some of the rumours of his and other backstage happenings is why i still follow it even though i never watch the product itself!

I don't have the same enjoyment I did when WWF/WCW/ECW were going strong but I do still watch it every week like I always have..

I started losing interest in late 2002 and eventually stopped watching all together from 2003-2005 with the exception of a few matches here or there I was totally disconnected.
In 2006 I got into it again but it still wasnt the same. In 2007 I fizzeled out again. And I've done that every year up to this year. Ive been watching consistantly this year and am addicted again.

It ended for me the night of March 28th, 1998. Wrestlemania 14. The attitude Era was born, for me it was all down hill from there. Add in the decline and fall of the WCW Empire, and the gut wrenching end of ECW, and there was nothing left for me.
1987-1998 were the glory days for me.. 11 kickass years.
Piss on the Attitude Era and everything that has followed.

I watch out of habit. I am one of "those" people. But the affair that began in 1982 pretty much lost its luster around may/june of 2009. I keep hoping SOMETHING will change soon. But there's a better chance of seeing Benoit in the HoF than seeing a major product change anytime soon. Maybe 2-3 years from now, but even that's a BIG maybe I believe.

I lost interest in 2004...everything seemed so forced and nothing seemed to really get over. I toughed it out for awhile but quit watching around 2007. I still watch the occassional WWE show but it never seems to hold my attention for more than a few minutes and I change the channel.
So sad...I watched non-stop since 1988.

oooo good question. I reckon around Wrestlemania 11 maybe and didn't really get back into it until nWO (in WCW) and Attitude Era. ECW (the proper one!) definitely got me back into it but lost interest recently.
I was always annoyed how they did the WCW Invasion and return of the nWO was awful. Bret Hart returning was good but now lost most interest.
I think my interest comes & goes over the years but I have always watched since 1990 and probably always will - certain peaks happen over the years where I am full on into watching or not that bothered.

I never stopped enjoying pro-wrestling...Sports-Entertainent, now thats a different story. Honestly tried to watch it up until last year but for like the last 2-3 years nothing really grabbed my attention. I become really psyched for WrestleMania XXVI , but since the next night, I have almost nothing to follow it.
I still enjoy buying DVDs and videos of older events and newly released historical stuff. But for a fan that has been a die-hard since 1994, I would almost say WrestleMania XXVI was it for me.

WWE got boring around the end of 2001 for me
1995-2001, WCW and WWF, was awesome. nothing quite like it. quality.

Absolutely agree
We've seen people fall from Hell in the Cells We've seen a main event star bring a gun to the ring and hold the owner hostage We've seen the craziest of ladder matches We've seen an 80 year old power bombed from a stage by a psycho We've heard Mr Ass's theme song We've seen a wrestler eat his own dog
We've seen the Crow We've seen these 'classic' comic book gimmicked wrestlers strip down and be there real self- WWF to WCW transition
and that's just the tip of the iceberg. So of course, our expectations are higher than John Cena Fu'ing an Umaga.
