Simple question: does this man get enough credit for his mic skills?
I was watching a few clips before on the Tube and just... wow!

In an era of coked up maniacs screaming incoherent nonsense at the top of their lungs, Jake's calm and eerily cerebral delivery easily made him one of the best of all time on the mic.

Jake was poetic on the mic. He was the polar opposite of the Ultimate Warrior-style interview and I always respected him for that. I thought he had future as an actor. He had enough skill to cross over movies had the man behind the persona not been so self-destructive.

I think he could have had a great rivalry with either Raven or Cactus Jack if only they hadn't been from different generations.

Never needed to holler, scream or shout his promos, knew what to say when and how...had all 3 things; a good body for the business, a brilliant mind for it, and a true gift of the promo...

Jake is the man on the mic. But like Joker said I don't think many took him seriously. But listening to some of his promo's from back in the day.....I am in amazement sometimes.

I liked him too...People get all over for Warrior for saying crazy stuff but take a look at the hogan interview from Wrestlemania 4... Saving Donald Trump as new Jersey falls into the sea? He must've been on drugs that night.

YES he does get enough credit. Most people look on Jake as being one of the best guys on the mic in the business. Awesome slow deliberate way of talking, could be cold & menacing without even raising his voice. When Jake spoke the audience listened.

I've always felt he was the best ever when it came to a calm creepy promo. I've heard Orton tries to imitate Robert's promos. It's starting to show.

Jake Roberts should be on everyone's shortlist of the greatest talkers in the history of Pro Wrestling, he also should be on the list of great workers for the way he worked the crowd during his matches and promos. I wish the guy would have controlled his demons.

I liked as a heel. He just had a demeanor about him that was kinda of witty. I would have liked to see a good fued with him and Hogan. Did they ever have a match? Can't remember...
