As you can tell by my avatar, I'm an ECW mark, and enjoyed ECW (not WWECW) for pretty much its entire existence.
Normally I hate to compare things, and while this isn't strictly doing so, I wonder which documentary about ECW you preferred and why?
I recently rewatched both over the past weekend, and was enthralled by 'Forever Hardcore' just that little bit more than 'Rise + Fall', despite there being no official footage.
The fact that both had different talent on was something you knew to expect, and it was refreshing to hear from Sabu, New Jack, Tod Gordon, Simon Diamond and the Blue Meanie at different stages of the disc, among staples like Raven, Sandman, and Joey Styles.
Rise and Fall was great too (I've worn my disc out it looks like, it's skipping a bit here and there!) but after repeated viewings the fact that Vince had to make sure he said that he congratulated Paul E (a fact he also said about Ted Turner on the Monday Night War DVD) came off as more than a bit arrogant and self-serving; Jerry Lawler and Eric Bischoff's contributions being little more than reminders of (IMO) events that made my blood boil...
Yeah, just thought it would make for an interesting discussion...Cheers!

I like them both but Rise and Fall entertained me that wee bit more.

I would say Rise and Fall has the upperhand due to the actual footage. However, I liked Forever Hardcore because it touched base on some different issues such as New Jack/Vic Grimes, Fire at the ECW arena. Btw, I need to find my Forever Hardcore pronto.

I am going to say rise and fall because of the actual footage.

I like both, but I always considered Forever Hardcore as sort of an independently-produced companion to Rise and Fall.
I enjoyed Forever Hardcore much more after having seen Rise and Fall than I probably would have if I had only seen Forever Hardcore. (If that makes any sense.)

I always liked the WWE production better. The actual footage is just too crucial.

You could tell Borash was a real fan of ECW too, which was refreshing to see.

I've finally seen Rise and Fall, made an effort to see it after this thread haha. Hmm very tough for me, different oppinions... I liked Rise and Fall a hell of a lot and I was surprised, found it very emotional actually. Forever Hardcore has been watched like over a million times in my DVD player but after finally seeing WWE's version I did really like it. Hmm I'm sticking with Forever Hardcore but I was very surprised and satisfied with Rise and Fall.

As you may've saw in the DVD thread, I just picked up Forever Hardcore on eBay due to seeing this thread, haha. Watched a few clips of it on YouTube a year or so back and thought it did well filling in the few scenarios and details that The Rise & Fall omitted for one reason or another. I love The Rise & Fall, it's one of my absolute favourite ever WWE DVD's, but I find Forever Hardcore compliments it rather nicely.
