I like it.
I'm good on the ground, but my stand up needs work. I'm getting better at stuffing take downs. I don't know what mode you guys are playing on, but I just knocked out Mayhem from mount with Shields in the first round. Mayhem succeeded on 2/3 take downs. You guys talking 50 take down, I don't know what's up.

I had Lashley shoot for 25 takedowns. He landed like 20 of them. We're talking simulation and authenticity here. That's what the developers are boasting about. There's no way you're going to see 25 shots or 20 TDs from one guy in a fight.

Ugh. I'm really not sure with this one.
I switched to the button controls because I will never use the stupid RS striking crap. I'm semi fine with the game-play but there's a lot of moments where it felt like I had no idea what I was doing or how something happened, even after doing the tutorial.
The graphics are great and the animations are nice and realistic but there are also instances like ground reversals looking like they're pressing off from the cage even if they're nowhere near it. I still hate the "floating" while moving around and the striking still seems a little slow. The take-down spamming is extremely annoying as well. Defending them is easy enough too but having a whole round of me stuffing my opponents take-downs is stupid. The presentation is terrible, there's no excitement like the UFC games at all to me, the crowd is dead especially during TKO/KOs.
The UFC games are definitely more fun to play. I think I might save myself $60 and wait for the next EA MMA iteration in a couple years.

I'm really liking this.
Come October 19, UFC will be sitting on my shelf for a good amount of time.

I haven't played the tutorial yet but so far I can't say I'll be picking the game up.
Striking feels like it has no impact at all, the cage stuff isn't great and the game is just weird at times with some of the fighters animations. Maybe if I play it more I'll find that I love it but if not then I hope EA does better with their next game.

I'm AWFUL at this game. And I suspect it's 60% me and 40% game design. It's rare that I'm actually THIS BAD at a game. Bad sure, but this bad? And when I do finally feel like I've figured it out, I get thrown into some sort of bizarre match where Lashley decides that every 15 seconds he's going to shoot.

That's what I was thinking during what had to be like my 20th match. I'm like "there's no way I suck at this game that badly".

Here is what I think happened with this game, it was first a Grecko-Roman only wrestling game and then at the last minute someone at EA said "Hey guys, you know this MMA stuff is getting kinda big" and then just added some punching and kicking and then sent it out.

That's really how it feels. I feel like they spent five minutes working on the striking game. It's a shame too. They really seem to put alot of effort into this game, feature wise. My biggest fear was that it'd come up short where it mattered the most.

Pretty good game, not really digging the Fight Night controls.

I was the Overeem on the left. I have it as Overeem vs. Overeem so I can practice some striking. It's on Normal difficulty and I put him away in under a minute. Just be aware of the take down and you'll do fine.

I put a dude away in like 20 seconds in this game. Spinning Back Fist took away like half his health so I just pummeled him till I had no more stamina...
I was not impressed with this game at all primarily because of the takedown spamming... so I started spamming the takedowns back... Ended a few fights raining down punches from full mount.

What does this mean?
"Gamers can unlock a “Classic” Randy Couture playable character for the full game by sharing the demo with others."

Somewhere in the demo will be a screen that says something like "Click here to recommend to your friends" or something along those lines. If you click on that it will basically spam your friends list with a generic message telling them to check out the demo.
Do that and you unlock a Randy Coutue outfit.

I was right, I loved this game and will defiantly be buying this when it comes out. I seriously don't get the hate on this game, way better than both the UFC games IMO, only bad thing is no Shogun but I at least get Ninja so that sorta makes up for it. So far my only complaints are the spamming of Takedowns and Clinching other that that its great but they also through in a way to counter act those, Submissions are a lot better than UFC and Clinching is a lot better as well, I personally like it with the button pushing instead of the analog sticks, in a way this game is near perfect for me. I even like the sounds better than UFC.

According to EA MMA forums the demo is apparently a build from July, so they've already been making months worth of changes.

Why the ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) would they release an early, not very good demo of the game? The sole purpose of a demo is to give players a glimpse of the game, so they can judge if they like it or not enough to buy it. So what's the ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing point in having a crapty demo?
