Displaying MOC LJN's

I am looking to buy a couple MOC LJN figures. As of now, I only have a bunch of loose LJN's that I've had since the 80's and I can't remember exactly how stable the packaging was.

When I get some MOC's, are they able to stand on their own like a CS package? Or do you have to lean them on something?

Packaged LJNs tend to lean forwards due to their weight. In some cases they lean forwards so much that the bubble actually starts to detach from the card.

I have about 50 packages LJNs and some, mostly the heavier ones like Bundy and JYD cannot stand on their own. With the lighter ones such as Liz or Slick you should not have any problems.

Yeah, Bundy is a LOT of rubber in that little bubble!
When I was little, my friend was always talking about what a great deal it was to buy Bundy at the same price as it was 3 x's the amount of rubber that the other figures had.

very weird indeed..lol..you could probably knock out your annoying little sister with that bundy figure ..thats how i looked at it anyways ;D

Stom. How do you display your larger LJN's MOC? I was hoping to have a few of them in a display case, but am definitely afraid of the bubble seperating.

Bundy and Sheik would fall over if there weren't supported a bit by the cabinet itself.

thanks for the pic. Just thought of another thing after seeing Hogan. What is the main cause of the yellowing of the ljn bubble? I have noticed a lot of Hogan's have it, I would say more so than any of the others.

Hay I have my ljn figs most in disply cases and bundy falls alot untill I finlay got him to saty I
bought a case that was a small like box after they keptfalling and then they fit in perfect and do not fall

Don't know for sure, but my Hogan is a 5-back version (only 5 wrestlers are pictured on the back), so is a bit earlier than the rest. That might be the cause, but I am not 100%.........

I have seen other brands of MOC figures (ECW OSFTM, for one example) with significant yellowing of the bubble, too. Those aren't that old.

Maybe it has something to do with how, or where, they are stored over the years. If the owner smokes, that could do it (cigarette smoke turns white walls yellow over time, so I'd imagine it could to the same to clear plastic). Or it could have been stored somewhere with lots of must or humidity in the air, such as a basement.

Someone told me once that the yellowing is caused by several different things. Age, and moisture, and room tempature. Especially if you use gas heat. That can even cause the walls to turn yellow.

the "yellowing" of the plastic bubble or packaging is mainly caused by the plastic materials used. in this case, the fault lies in the plastic materials used to make the plastic sheets which causes the plastic to deteriorate like cracking or discoloration. one of the reason for this is because plastic materials of yester-years didn't have "UV" protection, which is an additive combined to the plastic material to prevent any light source, including sunlight, to damage the plastic ( i.e. discoloration ). Aside from light, there are other reasons for plastic to deteriorate, like the enviroment ( smoke and smoke-free homes ), temperature, humidity, location ( if you're near the sea which is salty, or a damp basement, or near chemical stocks etc ). UV wasn't added because they didn't exist before. For the past many years UV added-plastic materials are readily available in the market. Companies like jakks may have instructed their production companies in China to use only materials with UV to enhance and maybe prolong the life of their MOC's. When you compare the plastic packaging of older figs, no matter how mint they are, to the present day ones like from RAs, you will notice the difference in quality AND clarity. Plastics today are also more flexible.

My dad started making racks to hold hot wheels cars out of metal and I asked him to tackle the LJN problem of needing to display them tilted back a bit to prevent the bubble pulling away. He made these cool 'a frame' racks to display them. They really help with the heavier figures. If you search eBay for LJN Display racks you'll see them along with pictures of some of my LLJN collection.

the ones I had displayed on the walls turned a little yellow after years and years of getting sunlight. All the ones I have packed away were still crystal clear. Since then I have tinted my windows with a 100% UV coating so hopefully it wont happen anymore.

Well, I was bored and I was searching through these threads this morning. I believe if I was trying to sell you on the eBay business I would have put in a link to the auctions or the official website or something, but it's not MY business so why would I care if you looked at it or not? The threads about displaying LJN MOCs. I just saw it today while looking through old threads. I added how I display mine. Is there something wrong with that?
