I NEVER get mad at games but THIS GODDAMN GAME! Bull ing sh*t. I have my fight with Forrest and I throw one punch at the begining of the fiirst round and I get caught in a ing Flying Armbar! this Sh*t!

I really don't know what to say to you guys. It's all because the "Charging" feature for submissions, because it no longer is a battle to finish the submission.
See, by spinning the stick clockwise, you are constantly fighting the submission, wither it be to finish the submission or defend it. "Charging" your submission is completely different.
Think of it like Metroid. You press B and hold it to charge the attack. Let go of B, and the attack shoots. Now, the longer you hold down B, the bigger the attack is. Make sense so far?
Well, this version is similar. As you hold down R3/RS, you'll see your Stamina bar slowly lower. That is because you are CHARGING your stamina. Once you let go, your fighter makes One STRONG attempt at either finishing the submission or slipping out of it. The longer you hold down the button, the more stamina is used up, and the stronger the attempt is.
Turning the Right Stick = Constantly fighting for or against the submission Pressing down Right Stick/R3 = Using your stamina to charge for ONE strong attempt for or against the submission.
The shitty part about all of this is that the computer can do this do, and does most of the time. So if you find yourself in a submission, hold down your right stick and let off RIGHT before the other figher finishes the submission. You should be able to tell if the other guy is charging the attack or "working" towards it by the speed of the submission. If it looks like he is going to finish really quick, he's charging.
I don't really understand why the Computer has the charging ability, because it's really hard to get down. But once you do, you have nights like I did last night. Had a bunch of friends over to try out the new game and had a tournament. 1 Arm Bar, 1 Leg Lock, and 1 Knock Out later, and I'm king.

If I were THQ, I'd either send out a fix that makes the Submissions a little more fair, or at least give you the option of having submissions like last year. If FNR4 can come out with a gameplay update, so should UFC> Either that, or at least release an in-depth training video on how to function in Clinch/Submission. The Tutorial and guide don't do **** in really explaining how it works. I pretty much just hooked up 2 controllers and ed around for an hour figuring everything out. Once again, I hate to be "that guy", but once you figure out how the game plays, it really is an amazing game. Being able to sway in more then one direction is great as well. Just figured that out last night. I can't help but think people just bought this, and popped it in without checking out the tutorial at all.

This would be so much easier to explain with pictures.
Like I said, think of it like Metroid. You have a full bar of energy, like below

Now, you press down the B button, and hold it. As your attack charges, it deplets your bar of energy. Depending on how long you hold it, depends on how much of your energy bar it takes up.
So say I press down and hold it for a few seconds, and let go. This is what my energy bar will look like this:

See how much energy was used? That is the amount of energy that is stored in my attack.
Now, if you charge an attack, and let off, and the other fighter doesn't tap, you have two choices.
If you still have any stamina left, you can try charging the attack again. The more stamina you use in charging, the stronger the attack is going to be. If you don't have any stamina or a low amount left, I'd suggest spinning the stick.
Using the example above, I decide the charge my attack again. This will again deplete my stamina bar, until I let go, and depending on how long I hold it down, depends on how much stamina goes into the attack. So I hold it down for a couple of seconds and let go.

I get that and have seen it....the compute wont tap for anything though....i beat the hell out of Kurt P with BJ, til he had like, 25% bar left....still wouldn't tap

I really don't know what to say at this point. Last night I was fighting with Florian vs Penn, and about 30 seconds into the fight, got a counter takedown, moved to side control, pressed R3 to start the submission, pressed down R3 to start charging, and when my Stamina bar was at about 25% green, let go and got the tap.

Sean, the fact that it's taking you a small novel's worth of words to explain the submission system to several people who have already done the tutorial should indicate that it's kinda broken.
I think both the submission system and the transition reversals have taken a big step back from last year's game. Last year the subs were an actual skill, and I was able to tap out anybody online as long as I waited for my spot. In this year's game, somebody can run at you with Demian Maia, slam you, and slap on a Kimura and there's nothing you can do. I tested it out with my friend and it's literally unstoppable. And they made the reversals waaaaaaaay too easy. Last year it was something very few people could master, and now all you have to do is spam the stand up transition and if the other guy tries his first you reverse it.

Yeah, its like they took everything that was too hard last year and made it super easy, but took everything that was fairly easy, and made it harder.
I really think THQ is going to have a big backlash on their hands if they don't either send out an AI fix, a fully explained tutorial on how the system works, or just an update that fixed the damn thing.
I think they probably added it to off set the large amount of knockouts from last year, as a means of giving the player that "out of nowhere" win feeling. The problem is that the computer can use the same system, and as we've all already figured out, the system is flawed.
I don't know. I guess the other highlights of the game just make it worth owning to me, and the submissions haven't been an issue to me as of yet. I guess to each their own. I do laugh at all the people on other forums simply saying "If you don't want to tap out, don't let them get a submission on you"
