Does anyone remember this guy? He was in WCW in the early 90s. I don't remember his full name though.

Classic Board. I remember him as a 3rd Match Nitro guy, who played a hippie for a while, then I beleive he turned into the ruthless 'Van Hammer".
Now I have the urge to watch a Johnny Flynn Match.

wow, at least go back to when he first debuted in WCW around 1992 as a Hair band rocker, Heavy Metal Van Hammer. Carried a guitar to the ring and always swung it around his neck. Probably the only thing memorable he did was have a falls count anywhere match with Cactus Jack at Clash of the Champions where Abdullah The Butcher got involved. The match ended with Missy Hyatt getting dumped in a tub of water

This gimmick was awful. I remember him having a feud with JT Southern. It was like watching Jani Lane (from Warrant) fight Bret Michaels.
For some reason, Hammer reminded me of New Jersey.
And According to his wikipedia page.....
After his eight-man tag team match, Hildreth (Hammer's real last name) retired from professional wrestling. Since retiring, Hildreth has been the owner of a sex shop.

Jerry Flynn! I knew it sounded wrong. I had a hard time beleving the name of a T'Wolves player shared a WCW Mid-carder/Jobber's name, and obviously I didn't not beleive it enough apparently.

Jerry Flynn was the ing man. Van Hammer was pretty sucky. I love how he kept randomly getting pushes every couple of years.

I believe it was in Foley's book that he mentioned that Van Hammer was ordered to carry a guitar to the ring even though he didn't know how to play.
I had his debut on tape from back in 91 at Clash of the Champions: Fall Brawl. Never a good sign when your pyro doesn't go off in your first appearance.

I remember laughing when the announcers said that Abby was aiming for Cactus Jack (which was the plan, I believe) but Jack was out of position so Abby just blasted Hammer.
