did you just take down the gilmour picture as i posted my last reponse or am i going crazy? Crap, pressed the wrong button, here it all is AT F'N LAST!! there, finished, and stuff... i'm soo bloody happy to get it in a clear picture. I have been asked to upload it on the official Blog for David Gilmour, and with that, you need to give a few words about the piece, so i figured, why not put those words here aswell As I type this, i'm technically 18... albiet mentally i'm 40 something and going through a midlife crisis... but for a Floyd fan, i'm fairly young. Now up until kind of recently, i wasnt into music... My grandad showed me how to play some limited piano and i listened to what my parents listened to... Queen, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin ect... and don't get me wrong, i liked them, but it always seemed kind of apathetic towards music... this was up until 5 years ago when my dad said 'Sam, come over here and watch this, i know your music taste and there is a band on TV you'll like', i was thinking 'sure... not even i know my music taste', but i went over and watched and i saw four old guys on the screen... If you hadn't guessed, this was Pink Floyd at Live 8, now i had no idea abut there backstory, so i didn't know what was special about it, but i knew that what i was listening to was something special... i remember leaving being awestruck and not knowing where one song started and one ended, they all seemed to seige and merge into one. I decided to look up what the playlist was and listened to the songs from CD... and i remember having goosebumps as i heard them... all of i sudden i knew why people found music so important. the rest is really history, but its safe to say, without this band, i'd have never picked up a guitar, continued with other instruments, started expanding my music collection into any and everything (and finding a love for Led Zeppelin along the way) and i believe i would have stopped drawing too as music is really the inspiration to most of my artwork. Now i feel that above is explaination enough as to why i'd draw this man, but this picture in particular was a challenge for me... whenever i draw David, i drew him as a younger man, but thats not how i see him, remember i am a fan from 2005 onwards, so this is how i see him if someone says his name, also, i felt i was limited in my artwork, i drew anything and prefered realistic art, but i really wanted to challenge myself.

"I don't think I ever told you, but I know you always did your best. And the Hard times, they only made us stronger"
"I'll never be the same without you. I love you more than you will ever know, so maybe you'll finally know."
It's from one of my favorite Ataris songs, the lyrics remind me of my mom a lot. Most times when I hear the song I end up a blubbering mess. The flower in the background was her favorite, and she loved reading more than anything, so putting the lyrics in a book seemed right.

Just got back from a lengthy trip with a friend to Alamogordo, NM then to Albuquerque, NM with another friend to see Hank III (Hank Williams the 3rd) - lots of debauchery on that trip, but my God was it fun. Hank played a country set, hellbilly set, and then a metal set with his band Assjack. On the way back outside of Artesia, NM I had to get a pic of the coolest DWI sign. The artwork is awesome, I'm a sucker for Day of the Dead and sugar skull art. I had to share. I'm going to try and find out tomorrow who the artist on this was.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was a local artist around Artesia, NM (where the sign is) who did the design. I'm going to call the DWI info line tomorrow to see if I can find out who did it for sure. If anyone wants an Ultra High Quality pic: i43.tinypic.com/34oyr2u.png(it's 1500x2000 pixels)

Focalin's kinda like Hulk Hogan. The immortal one, American Made, always wants all the Focamaniacs to say their prayers, take their vitamins, and drink their milk. Focalin's the name of my ADD medication\
