(if you're reading this before you watch the new show, you're an ultra homosexual)
So, it's been five years since ROP first staggered onto the scene, and true to form, a half decade later, we're still stomping around much like Scott Hall on a Saturday evening. It has certainly been an eventful five years, particularly the 18 months when ROP did nothing. But now, alas, we are back, and whilst quite not better than ever (I am sorry Eric Bischoff for disappointing both you and your theme music) we are on somewhat of a roll. And so, this roll brings us to...FIVE YEAR STRONG! A celebration of five years of botches, blunders and barbed wire, a celebration of all things Poison. And yes, we did half-inch the name from the new fangled band. We're not sorry.
This is the biggie. The main event. Top of the card. Punk vs King, for the first time in ROP. Since our comeback, Eddie Kingston has not hid his intention to go after the world title, and it just so happens that a certain CM Punk holds that belt as we speak. Kingston had to go through Samoa Joe to get this match, and then attacked CM Punk after his match with Al Snow to make his intentions known. Will Punk be able to leave Five Year Strong with the ROP World Title still around his waist?
This is a feud that has lasted three times the length of ROP itself, and infact, were this the only match, the show would be called Fifteen Year Strong. But alas, there are other matches, and so it will not have a show named after it. While that fact may disappoint, this match certainly will not. After their short lived partnership fell to pieces after their title shot last month, these two both have something to prove, to themselves, to each other, and to the fans!
This certainly is an interesting twist. Tag team partners, who will be facing each other. And there hasn't even been an RVD/Sabu-esque fallout. This match was signed after Delirious scored the winning pinfall in the 8-man tag last month, which, for some reason, makes him number one contender. We're not planning to argue, because this match has every chance of stealing the show at Five Year Strong.
For our Fifth Anniversary celebrations, we welcome back two old friends of the promotion. Colt Cabana and Chris Hero will face off in a match that is sure to be a technical showcase, one for the purists most definately.
One of the most exciting divisions in ROP since our return certainly has to be the tag division, given a proverbial shot in the arm by the return of Dreamer and Sandman, a two man wrecking crew who have so far cut down both the Kings of Wrestling and Sabu and RVD, but now they face their sternest test yet in the form of Cactus Jack and the returning ROP legend, the original crazy man of the ROP, former world champion TERRY FUNK~!~! This match will be crazy (that's an ROP guarantee) and will most likely be one of the most hardcore matches in ROP history!
MORE MATCHES TO BE ANNOUNCED!
