One of the things that always bothered me in the WWF was how the "Who Ran Over SCSA" storyline played out. I was thinking about it the other day and thought that maybe Taz should have. Remember wen he came over in January of 2000, he destroyed Angle at the Royal Rumble. Well maybe, if they had him play a tweener role and went undefeated in an MMA fashion but had an unknown kindof a toughguy hard to break image, that sooner or later he could align himself with Shane McMahon. As an insurance policy/"just friends" like Benoit. Sooner or later wen Austin comes back he destroys all the roster to find out who ran him over. As he attacks another innocent suspect Taz chokes him out and reveals himself. We have an automatic number one heel whose also undefeated and a certified lunatic. By this time, shane mcmahon breaks all ties with a man who would commit such an act and its makes taz even more of a loner that what he really is. The showdown would culminate at an unknown PPV, where The Most miserable SOB on the face of the earth battles the toughest sob in the WWF. And Taz chokes out Austin. That tells a great story IMO, where the one guy you want to destroy puts you away and you cannot do a darn thing about it. Of course Austin wins later battles but i think you get the point.
I think WWF missed the boat, Taz was short and muscular with a mean streak and despite his size was very believable. The WWF could have taken advantage of a "thug" like Taz and made him the one guy that you DO NOT want to cross.
I think this is my first post here, so be nice with your feedback please...

That probably would have worked out pretty well, but WWF/WWE misses out on alot of opportunity.

-- A good idea, but TazZ wasn't "homegrown", therefore they gave the assailent role to 'Kish, a "homegrowner".

top idea.as an Austin mark Id have loved this.but HHH was WWEs main heel then and his offscreen relationship with Steph had just started.since he wasnt champion he was gonna be in the hottest feud of the time.
it goes back to the old story.......Vince never knows what to do with people who were over/on top elsewhere.Taz should have been feuding with Benoit,Jericho,Angle over IC and Euro gold all through early 2000 after his great impact at RR but they just did zip with him and he never recovered after that vindictive burial on SD! against HHH when he was ECW champ.

Taz's downfall was that Heyman wasn't there to keep building him up as a no-nonsense "tough guy." I'd say Heyman and Joey Styles are responsible for 90% of Taz's success in ECW.

Unfortunately Tazz just got lost in the shuffle when the Radicalz jumped from WCW and he never really recovered.
As far as the Austin angle goes, I actually liked the idea behind trying to make Rikishi into a badass heel but the whole 'I did it for da people' thing feel flat and then HHH swooped in and took any heat left from it as the 'accomplice'. I really loved Rikishi just killing bitches dead with multiple banzai drops though.

About 3:15. I must say, after re-watching this, that Rikishi always sold the clothesline like a champ. Which, although nowhere near on topic, does anyone know what he's doing nowadays?

Fonzie too, but yeah, ECW as a whole was truly Taz's playground, and he was truly amazing back the day... On topic though, the OP had a great idea there, but knowing how Vince and Kevin are against the 'un-homegrowners' (which has been already mentioned) it's another missed opportunity, much like the InVasion...

This is the most recent thing I could find about him: On March 28, 2009, Fatu debuted in Revolución Lucha Libre, a Chile based promotion, under the ring name "Kishi". In his first show, he faced Ariki Toa for the Absolute International Championhip, RLL's major title. Kishi defeated Toa by pinfall with a Banzai Drop to win the title. After the match, Savio Vega assaulted Kishi. Fatu, along with his brother Eddie, has been confirmed to be participating in the Hulkamania Tour of Australia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solofa_Fatu

It's hard to believe this was ten years ago, as of tonight.

All I know - is that Rikishi did it for the Rock.

There's no way Tazz could've been a credible main eventer in WWE. He looks like an Oomah Loompah. He was only ever any good when he was in the small-time leagues, destroying opponents hand-picked by Heyman. Tazz had nowhere near the skills to be hanging with Austin, Rock and co.
