Im thinking these new wwe mattel figures will be very hard to find in stores. I dont know about where you all live but here in Chicago I have noticed a trend over the last few years. Toys r Us, Target, Walmart, Kmart, and so on always seem to give up on toys after the holidays. All those stores look like $hit after the holidays and I've noticed they last months before they are slightly back to normal. They all do resets, clear old toys out and lay off employees. So I know it will be lucky if Mattel gets the toys in store, and even luckier if they get them on shelves. So aside from online I know finding them in store will be HARD.
I dont understand why stores do this, especially toys r us, seeing as how it's all they sell aside form baby clothes and diapers. But it's something I have seen since I was a kid. As a kid id get money for Xmas and I'd want to go to buy figures, and always found the stores look horrible.
The only way I see these new toy lines making it onto shelves in early January as they are advertised to come out will be if Mattel sends out representatives to set up the displays/shelves themselves. Much like Pespi and Coke do at grocery stores. And sadly lets face facts i doubt mattel will do this. Maybe in one or two stores in key markets but not every where. I mean lets face it mattel doesnt do this for Barbie which is it's flagship line I doubt they'll do it for wrestling.

If they handle the line like they do with the DCUC & DCIH then they will be hard to find. If they handle it like the Batman B&tB we should be able to find them easy enough.

Consider the fact that WWE was basically Jakks only major toy line and they had a lot of market saturation. Jakks made their name on wrestling figures. Before that, what had they ever done?
This is freaking MATTEL. You know, one of the largest and oldest toy companies in the world? DC is sort of a special case, really. Their DCU line was meant to show love to the more obscure characters of the DC universe. Honestly, Marvel's "obscure" characters are more famous than DC. That and Marvel wasn't afraid to put out fifty Wolverines in each wave, so the major retailers had no problem stocking them. It wasn't until Mattel/DC conceded and included the likes of Batman and Superman that major retailers would stock what they saw as an otherwise "specialty" line aimed more at collectors.
If WWE as a brand can get Jakks in the major stores, then how much more will the combined brand power of WWE and Mattel be able to get shelf space? WWE has their own aisle section in Walmart and TRU. I seriously doubt that will change just because jabroni Jakks is no longer pushing out their cookie-cutter re-heads.

Mattel is the crappiest toy company when it comes to distribution I've ever seen. They have let down fans and collectors for years. I hope they don't botch it again with the WWE line, but I wouldn't be surprised at all.

A lot of people are pissed at Mattel right now over their distribution over DC Universe, DC IH, and Justice League Unlimited figures. These might be ridiculously hard to find.

I hope they are not hard to find but if they are then I guess I will have to buy the best ones on line. That will at least mean I get it.

Toys r us not caring about toys? That makes hardley any sence I know it doesnt make sense, and I know it sounds dumb, but it's true. Watch come January Toys R us shelves will mostly be empty. They will Focus on getting rid of old toys (usually failed movie based toys) and the returns. That focus on clearing the old toys that didnt sell during xmas. Plus the fact that they will rest the shelves giving spots to new toys. Plus the fact that they will loose a good chunk of there employees due to lay offs will result in these wwe mattel toys being hard to find. Im not making this up im talking based off of what I have seen in the past. Toys R Us always takes a few months before they restock things. I remember this past xmas I wanted a couple of things and every time I went I was S.O.L. Exmaple. Last year I wanted besides wwe toys a carebear. After Xmas they had Jack squat. Carebears were pretty much done after Xmas I have yet to see them. And im not talking about one store. I go around to every Toys r Us I know of in the Chicago area and they all stink after Xmas Example Two years ago I wanted a train set and wwe toys. I went after Xmas and NOTHING was there. You wait and watch. You'll remember me when you walkin after Xmas and the store looks like its going out of buisness. And it will stay that way untill after Febuary.

Well, stores will be empty from x-mas, then January 1st Mattel WWE can fill the shelves in. Maybe we can find them since everyone just went spend crazy for X-Mas.

I'm thinking that even though they probably will be harder to find, at least Mattel isn't known for leaving details off the figures that were in the promos, what Jakks is doing left and right these days.

Out of all of those places you named, how many of them constantly have Barbies?
Exactly.

To be honest, I don't think you can compare it to the DCU line or anything else Mattel has done. In an interview a while ago, they said that they recognize Jakks has filled up 3/4 of a TRU aisle with WWE figures and they plan to do the same. So, I really think they'll be stocked pretty well. Though, I do think they will only get about half an aisle, while TNA and UFC from Jakks takes that open 1/4.

I dont think mattel will screw up the distribution for these. The market is too big and with jakks putting out TNA stuff the same day, they better have it together.

Exactly DCUC Wave 5: A Walmart Exclusive wave that never arrived in most Walmarts DCUC Wave 9: Retailers received 25% fewer than what they pre-ordered DCUC Wave 10: A redux of wave 5

Out of all of those places you named, how many of them constantly have Barbies? Exactly. Have you ever shopped for barbies? Most Toys R Us have a nice big display of maybe 5 to 10 dolls, all of which cost more than 40 dollars. That's why you think they are well stocked. They seem well stocked simply because they are so EXPENSIVE. And are rarely sold outside of Xmas. Now if you look for the regular babies which are ranged from 5 to 20 dollars those are always empty, unless it's toys r us they might have some. Now Target, Walmart, Kmart and so on those hardly if ever have the cheaper more commonly purchased barbies. I dont know if they sell that fast or if they just dont get them in stores that often. That's Barbie, Mattels Flagship brand. Now think will mattel put more emphasis on it's Flagship, the dolls that made them a household name? Or on WWE a company most people frown upon.
