Funny not on the IC / WHC situation. RVD was penciled in to beat Triple H at No Mercy 2002, and unify the two championships as they wanted to give Raw a fresh blood type feel. Triple H convinced the agents that putting the new belt on RVD would fail to present the championship as a truly believable worlds title. Creative fought to keep the RVD champion decision but Triple H convinced enough higher-ups to put the belt on him and have him carry for a lengthy amount of time. Damn HHH is a huge dick

The one thing that kills the WHC for me is... Hunter was just handed the belt with the saying "you were the last one to hold it." Honestly at the VERY least they should of had a battle royal to determine a new champion. I Tournament on a PPV with some decent build up would have propelled the title to prestiges-status. But instead, Hunter was given the belt with no real build-up and announced as the World Heavyweight Champion. Wow, I would have taken the IC belt and made it as prestiges as it was back in 1990 when Warrior essentially made it an just-under an equal to the WWF Heavyweight Title.
I still have a hard time taking the WHC as a serious title.

2002-2004 aren't fondly remembered years for me when it comes to Triple H. Multitudes of talent held down-- Booker T (who should've won at 'Mania 19), Rob Van Dam (who should've won at Unforgiven '02), Kane... who was just outright buried, Jericho, etc. Glad someone else said it.
