Video isn't working at the moment but I remember it clearly being some sort of doll/prop/clearly not Hawk falling. Now how they did the whole 'Hawk being pushed but not really falling' part, I have no clue.

Was this wrestling's first ever "use the wrestler's real-life drug problems as a" storyline?

Was this wrestling's first ever "use the wrestler's real-life drug problems as a" storyline? From my recollection yes, it was, and then the whole Scott Hall deal in WCW surfaced as well...Funny, but sad at the same time.

I remember thinking both Hall & Hawk's angle - was pretty dumb. It was surreal, but not needed.

Hawk deserved better. The stunt was stupid and an act of pure exploitation. And I feel the same way about what WCW (and later WWE in 2002) did to Scott Hall.

I was at the arena when this went down, everyone in the arena could tell it was a dummy, most people just sat there dumbfounded as to what the hell they were thinking.
