I don't think Rikishi was always meant to be the drive. In fact, I think that was a really stupid move on creatives part to work Rikishi into it at all. He was a comedy character and always meant to be a comedy character. He had no business in a feud with Austin and it just never felt right. I understand Rikishi in a thong wouldn't work, but he was awfully over at one point.

If memory serves, the whole thing where Triple H was revealed to be the mastermind behind the whole thing was the beginning of the whole 'Cerebral Assassin' moniker.
Come 2001, Rikishi was tagging with Haku, and had nothing to do with Triple H again.

I remember being quite stunned at SS99.........but it did occur to me after that Austin didnt have much in ring time in october either.......
I think WWF/Vinnie knew a while before hand that SCSA was knackered.
